You just did a video of my day to day work!

Video description should read "visual comparison of Lectron vs. Chineese replica and installation on my RM250." We did not see how it performs, real world or otherwise. Can it hold up to the demands of the RM250? We did not find out. ✔ Detailed breakdown of the Chinese Lectron carb [ ] See how it performs in real riding conditions [ ] Honest review on value for money Honest waste of a half hour of my life.
I just came across your channel and immediately a sub. Dude, this is insane an actual 85! This is sick! I grew up riding a clapped out 79 Yamaha IT175 throughout the 80's into the early 90's, but i remember for me the RM's were the coolest bikes. Just dug the colors, thought that that's what a motorcross bike should look like. This takes me back man. I remember drooling all over the magazine shootouts over the RM's, oh, i actually still have my old 175 as well. I just never got rid of it. Working on bringing it back to life. Cheers guys🤙

Can u give a link for the clone lectron
China already makes a legit metering carb with the XTNG, sad they are doing this pale imitation.
Does the fake one really have rod height adjustment? I also have a fake one like this and it does not.
How did they compare? Curious to see follow up Video. Thanks!
Another video please. I need to see if they are worth it and if they work the same way. By the way, good video.
No worries! thanks heaps for the feedback. I will be doing a follow up video with our CR500, I bought one for that to as we ride it alot more.
Otro video por favor. Necesito ver si merecen la pena y si su funcionamiento es el mismo. Por cierto, buen video

same factory. one says lectron, other one says nothing. same carb.
yeah they look identical
@@garageeleven they are
@@kasper-jw2441 yeah its wild, the only thing on the "replica" one is there isnt any numbering on the rod or the slide
@@garageeleven exactly, but i bet if you start meassuring you will see that it will be the exact same meassurement. to be honest, i never had a "replica" lectron. but from expirience i know that most of these "fake/replica carbs" most of the time comes from the exact same factory, my quess is that in the factory there are left overs for what ever reason, those left overs, some chinese guy buys them cheap, put some jets in it and resells it as a knock off for way cheaper. i had this with "replica" keihin carbs i prepared to run on methanol engines. and just last week i had it with dellorto carb, i had a carb on my moped that said dellorto, but it was nagged and i couldnt get the carb right, so i bought this dellorto out of china with nothing on it. bought it for 20 bucks, meassured everything and everything meassuredment was identical. also the real dellorto had a plastic floater housing, and plastic throttle slide. the "20 bucks one" had everything made out of alloy/metal.. so even better then the real dellorto in my opinion. excuse my abc bad english by the way.
This is a problem you run into when you don't run your own manufacturing. More so if you sell something with long expired patents
That take off oem carb is the best carb in this video
Yeah they are a solid thing and super reliable
@garageeleven I have the electron billitron on my trx250r. But also a oem honda 38mm pwk on my 1985 cr250. The billitron is great, but the pwk is just as good if not better at times.

Really nice bike with allot of attention to detail. I'am restoring 2 CR 250's from 1994 myself at the moment, I think it's the best looking bike from Honda from the 90's. Was planning of ordering a Throttle Jockey seatcover but wenn I saw yours it looks even better to OEM. May I ask from witch company I can order these? Greetings from the Netherlands
Thanks a ton! The 1994 CR250 is a true gem-Honda really nailed it with that design. Sounds like you’ve got some awesome projects in the works! 😎 For the seat cover, we went with one from rjp-motorcycles-ltd. It’s a great option if you’re after that OEM look. Can’t wait to see how your CR250s turn out-they’re going to look incredible!
@@garageeleven Honda 100% nailed it with that design, remebered I was a 15 year old kid and saw 2 brandnew of these CR 1994's on the track, very good memories!

No, but it's absolutely gorgeous.
I seen a awesome cr500 on doc wob you tube Chanel today, they sale a lot of parts factory copies and bits and pieces
Doc Wob definitely knows his stuff-those CR500 builds are always something special! We’re big fans of the factory replicas and unique parts he offers too. It’s awesome to see so many enthusiasts keeping these legendary bikes alive with quality parts!
That’s gotta be one of the dopest sheds out god damn 😍 what’s the story with the 89 / 90 rm bro ?
Thanks, man! The shed’s definitely a labor of love-nothing like being surrounded by these classic machines. The ‘89/’90 RM was actually in for some tuning. Just giving it a bit more love to keep it running as strong as it looks! Appreciate the interest-there’s always something cool happening in here. 💪
Where do you source the bikes from in the US? Craigslist?
Love your work guys. I am excited for new content and have a 96 cr250 project bike that I’m having a hard time getting new fuel tank and nuclear red fork protectors. And advice on where to get em would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Rob
Hey Rob, Thanks for the feedback, the 96 sounds like its going to be a good thing, We use UFO fork guards and a company called VMX plastics for our tanks
Nice bike, I’ve got one I restored myself and your right in every aspect of the build regarding compromise when it comes to parts availability, time frame and budget.
Thanks, mate! It’s definitely a balancing act, isn’t it? Parts, time, and budget-always gotta compromise somewhere. Would love to see how yours turned out! 🔧🏁
@@garageeleven unfortunately you can’t load pics here in comments. I started with a very low hour 1 owner bike, paid a lot for it. Still got the original airbox that’s white, used the VMX racing tank and your spot in there, great alternative to the Cla&$e tanks that have moulding defects. The linkage had a crack so I ended up replacing them with Phil Denton Engineering billet ones, the forks are mint, anodising perfect and still has the original shower chrome decal on them. I used a Throttle Jockey seat cover, not fussed with the colour, it’s a bit different to the OEM and plastics but is passable in the right light, I know that the one you used is better colour wise from JP in the UK. I scored an OEM stator cover and chain guard, UFO plastics are the only way to go for fit colour and finish. Pretty much did exactly the same as you on all parts, hours on the swingarm sanding etc, re did the zink coating on all the axles and some nuts and bolts but found the spec bolt kits from the U.S. to be a great help, they aren’t perfect but for the price you can use 90% of it and it looks very close to OEM. Used MTX disks because they look exactly like OEM and are pretty affordable, I went with braided Moto master lines though and put gold valves in front and back in case I decide to ride it one day, prob is it looks so good I’m now scared to 😂.
@@garageeleven love your work guys, there’s nothing like the 92-94 CR’s 🤙
@@SuperEVOmx Sounds like an incredible build, mate! You’ve really gone the extra mile with all those details-respect! The VMX tank is definitely a solid choice, and I totally get what you mean about the Throttle Jockey seat cover. Sometimes the little color differences are the hardest to get right. And those Phil Denton billet linkages? Nice touch! You’ve got a real showpiece on your hands, especially with all the zinc plating and careful part selections. I know the feeling about being hesitant to ride it now-it’s like having a piece of art in the garage! Maybe just a gentle cruise around the block, yeah? 😎👌
@@SuperEVOmx Thanks, mate! Couldn't agree more-there's just something special about those '92-'94 CRs. They're timeless machines that still turn heads. Appreciate the support! 👊🔥
This thing looks great! I just did up my 1993 CR250R as a Jett Lawrence tribute...
That sounds incredible! The 1993 CR250R is such a classic, and a Jett Lawrence tribute is the perfect way to bring it back to life with some modern flair. Would love to see how it turned out-those details must be on point! What was your favorite part of the build? 👌🔥

OMG, watching this genuinely brought a tear to my eye, especially seeing Bubba, TP and RC as groms that were about my age when I first found the Terrafirma vids along with the Crusty's and a few others, as already dusty old tapes in my eldest brother's bedroom, genuinely changed the trajectory of my life and changed me into a ravenous petrol addict, (I like my 2-Stroke shaken, not stirred (it also turned me into a 90's Punk/Thrash connoisseur for that matter)). My brother actually recorded the majority of the AMA rounds from the old Austar box to the VCR back in the day. I'm pretty sure that in the stack of tapes that are now unfortunately neglected in the back corner of the shed are the recordings of the entire careers of those boys, (alongside my eldest brother's '01 CR500, his '07 CR250, his '99 CR 250 that he bought brand new/superseded model in early 2000 and my other brother's '99 CR 125 (that's right, twins!) that have all unfortunately been neglected for nigh on a decade, as life has unfortunately gotten in the way, however it's a lineup that will never leave the family and will eventually get dirty once again! P.S. I thought it absolutely criminal, the lack of views/comments on this classic. So you got my life's story. Thank you coming to my TED talk...
Wow, what an incredible story! Thank you for sharing that-it’s clear that those old tapes and bikes have some serious history and sentimental value. It’s amazing how a few dusty tapes can ignite a lifelong passion, and it sounds like your family has a legendary lineup just waiting to roar back to life. Restoring those bikes would be a trip down memory lane and a nod to everything that got you hooked in the first place. As for the lack of views-I'm with you there. Sometimes the best stories take a little longer to be appreciated, but it’s people like you who remind us why we do this. Thanks for the support, and when those bikes are back in the dirt, we’d love to see it. Keep that passion burning! 🔥👊
Proper cool bike ❤
