September 28, 2024 Open House at Lakeside Fire Protection District. This annual event draws the community to many community resources and is a wonderful crowd pleaser. This year I filmed from an elevated tower to have a different focus and it had challenges knowing that the demonstration was expanded over a larger surface than in previous years.

Officer Machitar was killed in a fiery crash as his patrol vehicle was broadsided by a juvenile who was traveling at 90 miles an hour in San Diego. The juvenile was also killed and Officer Machitar’s partner, Zachary Martinez, was in critical condition but attended the Memorial Service. San Diego Mayor gives Tribute to Officer Austin Machitar of the San Diego Police Officer who died in a fiery auto crash on August 26, 2024 by a juvenile who broadsided the police car at 90 miles an hour. The juvenile also died and the second officer in the police cruiser, Zachary Martinez, sustained critical injuries but attended the Memorial Service.

Is Fire required at helicopter calls?
This can be requested by fire departments/police for remote locations or a critical situation where minutes will make a difference in saving a life. Also, one may purchase insurance for this service. Hospitals are ready with helo pads on their roof.

Is having a law enforcement apprehension dog conditioned to not escort prisoner after the bite a good idea? That's a HUGE error in the training program. In the field, during arrest with dog apprehension the dog would protect officer during suspect pat down search and hand cuffing. Then escort suspect to vehicle for transport. Dog should NEVER turn it's back to suspect. Amateur hour here folks.

Using dogs in law enforcement is not only immoral it's also not scientific. They're wrong when it comes to detecting drugs as often as they are right. That's not a good track record. As far as using them to subdue suspects, there's a strong case to be made in the US that it's unconstitutional under the 8th amendment.
Can you elaborate on this please "They're wrong when it comes to detecting drugs as often as they are right." Specifically, when the dog is as you commented "wrong". In that case when searching for a suspect there would be no "find", or if searching for contraband, firearms or explosives no "find". So, without a "find" there's no suspect or no evidence. Where does that leave things?
@@zangzang1268 best case scenario: the cop made an honest mistake when suspecting there were drugs present and called for the dog. Worst case: the cop lied and called for the dog to violate the citizen's civil rights simply to inconvenience them and to skirt the 4th and 5th amendment. It would then be up to the citizen to initiate the lengthy and expensive process of hiring a lawyer and filling a civil suit.

There's searching and detection, both have dogs looking for something. In what's typically termed "searching" it could be for a lost child or missing confused senior citizen. Searching could also be looking for an armed felon. Try hiding from a search dog sometime and be honest about the results... You have no clue on the topic you are attempting to advise on.

Excellent beginner video! I’m a little bit out from this stage, but it wasn’t long ago. Remember to tell her to sit back. I used to pitch forward ALLL the time, and it drove my instructor crazy! Fair enough though, as I’m sure any real experienced horse person doesn’t want want anyone to fly over the front of the horse. She’s doing a great job starting. 👍🏼
