Good luck with your new crane Ray, I have one and it’s a lot of fun to operate. I made my own track for it using fastrack for the rails for the cars and old 0 gauge rails for the rails for the crane!

Tried this trick on my 2333 NYC and the 9 volt battery makes the horn work great. When I use the D cell battery on the track I only get the most faint sound. Any ideas?

Do you have a good looking set and I’m glad you’re happy with it. I have one too. Your unit I believe is from 1956. Because the stripe near the end of the B unit are not solid.

I love traditional line Lionel Alcos!!! I have 5 that were built by MPC. Nice video Ray.

You should consider learning how to airbrush - alot of the nicks/scratches could be corrected.

Thanks Ray for a nice comprehensive video. I picked up one of these at a flea market recently for $10 and found out when I got home it didn't work, yeah what a shocker. Took it apart and found a broken wire which I was able to solder. It works great now but after looking at yours I realize it did not come with that bottom adjustable piece so I guess I'll use a few pieces of wood to hold it up a little. Using American Flyer cows for now because I had them, luckily they work pretty good. Forgot to mention mine is the 1949 version.
