I found small pens very comfortable. Montblanc 149 is a little uncomfortable. Have you large hands?🤔because in a medium hand a 149 is not very good
👌🏽 finally just the video I was looking for to see the size comparison of Montblanc 149 and Montegrappa Extra Otto
When I use mine it drops lots of ink, is this normal? I would shake it lightly and lots of ink would drop. I am new to fountain pens
another problem is that after lots of ink dropped it would not write, I felt that I needed to press really hard.
Is the black grip also made of the same material of the Barron ?
A better Studio in every way. Slap a gold nib on this and it's pretty much perfect.
Brilliant video. Why you stop posting videos? Most recent (as of July 2024), is 11 months ago.
You should do a review of the new pocket one!
I have the chance to get this for 32 euros, do you think I should give it a shot? It seems kinda cheap...
Thank you, I just found a little birthday present thanks to your video! I really look forward to trying it when it arrives. 😇🩷🙏🙌🇸🇪
I purchased my first Santini over two years ago... a blind buy... hadn't seen anything published regarding the company nor any of its items for sale. I bought a Libra Olive, with super flexy fine nib.... Incredible and exceptional writing experience out-the-box. It is always a wet writer... never any hard-starts nor other issues usually associated with "flex." Great value and the first-buyer presentation was top-tier. I love what Santini is doing and how they have distinguished themselves from others at any price point. Great review. And shout out to/from another fellow "southpaw."
I just bought the jade version. I’ve personally only used the safari and primarily use kaweco pens. Can’t wait to try it out.
I got my Estie OS in Nouveau Bleu with Rhodium trim and a Rhodium Needlepoint nib not too long ago. I inked it up with Lennon Tool Bar Sun Moon Lake Black Tea, a reddish brown ink. I like the size and heft of the pen. The feedback is pleasant. I enjoy it more than the 3776 SF. This won't be my last Estie. In hindsight, I regret sleeping on the Diamondcast models like Desert Sands. I'm eyeing the Journaler and Techo nibs. Thanks for your first impressions video. The nib comparisons were useful.
I'm so in love with this pen, specifically the colors. Unfortunately I can't find it anywhere.
Great video - but - your keyboard! I love it - what is it? I want a compact mechanical keyboard like that - please share the info!
What marketing techniques were you referring to? I haven't heard about any controversy. I think the upgrade cost on the specialty nibs is $50; excluding a gold nib.
Nice overview, I think the long length might be nice for calligraphy with their flex nibs.
I happen to have each of these pens (different colors in some cases, though) and I like them all. Your impression of the Kaweco is quite apt although I do carry the brass version around a lot because it has the heft and solid construction to protect it while it is being carried deep in my trouser pocket. It does write well and it is handy, as well. The Namisu is a very interesting design and it is very quick to cap and use. However, Namisu does use a nib manufacturer that provides rather scratchy nibs and I wound up replacing them in my N2 and Horizon pens. Still, it is a fun pen and very useful. The Schon and Ensso pens are the real stars, though, as they are exquisitely made and are very satisfying pens to carry and use. Threading the caps on the end of the barrels of these pens is just a bit fiddly but the pens' designs and quality make up for that little inconvenience making them my favorites. I have three Ensso Piuma Pocket Pens in Japanese ebonite, Ultem, and titanium and my Schon DSGN Pocket Six is in a sleek black adonized aluminum finish. Overall, they are all very good pens and I would not dissuade anyone from buying any of them. Excellent comparison review. Thank you very much.
The blue/green one looks beautiful! And speaking of Cornwall, England, that's where Richard Esterbrook (founder of the Esterbrook pen company) used to live with his family before he immigrated to America to start his new life as a very successful pen maker.
LOVE the Purple and the Skittles 🎉
Please add some description with model names or subtitles - not everyone is fluent with English. Schon and Ensso look nice, but posting the cap each time would drive me crazy... I will stay with Delike Brass as my pocket pen.
Wow, i thought montblanc 149 and sailor king of pen had a number 8 nib? The santini dwarfs both of them. It looks like a namiki emperor nib
I've really enjoyed watching your state of the collection videos. Really cool to see how it changes over time.
Thank you for showing your collection. Supreme quality throughout.
1. What a great collection. Gnomo for the win. 2. Also inspiring to me as I am trying to cull my collection down to 24. Easily got down from 80 to 45, but all that remain are pretty good.
Great to see you back on TH-cam, Anthony. I’m surprised to see that the Martele isn’t on that tray anymore !
Yes and the Otto Hutt !!
Hi! You need to update this video with the Quark model :) That said this video's very useful. Just a small note: the Gravitas Vac pens are in the middle between the Sentry and Entry models.
@Ukfountainpens can you equip the Pocket pen with a Kaweco *mini* converter?
yes, but not at full fill -- screwing on the barrel will depress the plunger a little.
@@UKfountainpens thanks
I got the Ultem version of that Gravitas Vac, it's fantastic!
I always admire how you consistently keep your collection small. By the way, I believe the Gravitas vac pen is made with cast acrylic, not polycarbonate.
It’s acrylic, you’re right! Apologies!
I'm still loving that Montblanc Martele!
1. My hearing is bad, so I'd appreciate if you could list the names of all these wonderful pens. 2. I hope to see your collection of pocket pens some day.

That nub to pull the pen from the cap is _way_ too small, i understand the need to make it a pocket pen but since the cap posted makes it oversized already they could've shortened it to make the nub more grippable. I see theyre taking a note from Kaweco by faceting the sides, which is pretty smart, do you have a link or is the pen only accessible upon release on their website? May God bless you!
The Watchfinder of fountain pens!
Is that a good thing?!?!
My stainless steel Scala is on my desk now. It's my daily writer. Love that pen. I much prefer it to the Studio. I have a few reasons to buy this over a Studio. Spring loaded clip on the Scala versus propeller clip on the Studio which can rub away the finish on your Studio. I also despise the look of the propeller clip and think it is hideous but most people seem to like it. To me the Scala seems more premium and upscale. Where the Studio uses plastic components like the screw threads for the barrel the Scala uses metal. The logo is stamped into the metal instead of stamped on like the Studio. The Scala just seems more durable and timeless. It's subtle, feels well, writes well and is very, very durable and well built. It's underappreciated.
Thank you for making this video on the Esterbrook needlepoint nib.
Is it worth getting this pen at 700GBP if it's machine printed?
Just got one of the ensso pocket pens & love it. The only thing I can think of that would improve it is some texture grooves on the section like the folks at Gravitas have on their sections. I will be ordering a Gravitas entry soon.
I just ordered a Gravitas Pocket Pen.. might be worth adding to your line up 😁
I also have the olive green vintage and love the 18k elaborately worked nib. The threads at the nib work well for me as it serves as a finger stopper without the irritating threads at the beginning of the nib section - Ancora's older pens have this feature as well. If you can purchase this model at a discount it would be well worth it
This pen is a superior writer to 580 in my experience. F is not as fine as 580, but just a little nicer to hold and write with. Nice review.
Nice seeing them together! It's hard to decide between Skittles and Paisley Sentry :)
Is the Pelikan nib in the Pocket 6 fitted with a flexible nib factory housing? If so, does that mean you eyedroppered the brass pen?
Nice selection, thanks!
Amusing
How does this nib compare width wise to the sailor fine nib, or platinum #3776 ef please?
Thank you
Lovely keyboard and great vid!
Hi, thank you for the film, slightly off topic what is the keyboard in shot.
It’s called the Dimple!
@@UKfountainpens Thank you - and you like it ?
@@billwells6286 very much! Good luck finding one, though…
Thank you. This has been most helpful. Cheers.
Have this one in M as well. Love it. Just a bit subdued though. So when I need Full Bling I pick up my Vodka on the Rocks version. I believe in BENU and have 5 other of their pens as well. Love each and every one.
