I'm sure alot of us have compassion for you not getting a weekend, but it would help if you included what exactly you'll be doing with those two bunks. That will help the video's relatability and engage interest. It will give us an idea of how difficult the work is and how long it might take

What type of fuse could I use to make sure that there are only 2 shells going up at a time?
Medium speed fuse. 10-12 seconds per foot

The welded plug was not welded properly . A weld is always stronger than the actual metal it's welded to . With aluminum you have to reverse the polarity on the welder, and use special aluminum wire or rods . And i'm guessing whoever welded that pipe did not do that .
