She could buff the head real nice but I digress,.. The real interest is in the relatively small movements of the ADSR elements and their effect on rhythm and cadence in the overall movement of the beat.

DIY attenuator for the Behringer 182 Sequencer
มุมมอง 74หลายเดือนก่อน
The 5 volt CV output of the Behringer 182 gives it a 5 octave range which is difficult to manage with it's tiny 12 step knobs. This add-on to the new case restricts the CV output to 2 volts- giving a two octave range. The 12 o'clock position on the note adjustments is now one octave and as such is much easier to get a correct note.

Here’s two vids from a cheap phone. One with a rug under it. One without. I took readings at 1 meter with my old clunker decimeter. The cell phone and the human ear and the meter all hear these things differently of coarse. I took the basket out as the unit is empty so it wouldn’t contribute in some way. P.s. it’s 40F out here if that makes a difference. Also: A diesel powered monster truck rag...
1970's Fender Deluxe Reverb teardown

The night the amp died. I pulled it apart under the stars with my tiny flashlight. Point to Point layout, which I haven't seen online for this last run of the amps before they became board stuffed in far away lands,.. From last summer,.. or the summer before,.. or the one before that,..? It's all kind of a blur.

Mod your NiftyCase for Stereo Output
มุมมอง 802 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Crea8audio Niftycase is crippled by a mono-summed headphone output. Video shows my fumbling effort to install a stereo headphone output. I though I could rework some traces on the power supply board but this is multilayer, surface mount with microprocessor so I went a primitive route. It works fine and cost very little. Such an improvement.
Eurorack Nifty case powered by GooLoo GP4000 - off grid noodle - Cre8audio
มุมมอง 213 หลายเดือนก่อน
Wow, maybe shop around? This model is $50 more than it was. I can tell you the GooLoo has no hum or snarf or buzz or interference in the 12v ps. The Nifty case felt fairly warm after two hours of use. I may try some diodes in series to knock the 15v down a little. Pretty sure the battery pack would last much longer than I would.

Nice! That tip with the cup and bailing wire is nice. Looking at buying a new "oem" boot from ebay (i dont trust it for a second lol) My boot is just a bit torn so I was also kind of thinking I could try sewing it up with some strong line but I feel like I'd spend just as much time/money as just replacing it because I don't have any fishing line or similar I don't think nor needles. This will be useful to anyone just discovering that that part is called a clutch fork boot lol
something worth noting: the samples transfer over as one-shot, so for keygroups that are non percussive and more instrumental in nature and are looped, you'll need to go in to the program and switch all keygroups to note-on.
Kind of unnecessary to use the disting as a midi to CV here. You could just run the CV gate from the SQ-1 and use the disting for something else. Also on the 112 you can use the sync output for a 2nd waveform (square). I'm a little curious why you opted for 2 sequencers and no filter.
Hi Bata, thanks for your many fine videos. Yes, the cv out on the SQ-1 would do the same job equally well here but I wanted to show the MIDI breakout working just for completeness in this example. I think the two sequencers can be explained by simple gluttony- they were $54 each- what can I say. Plus, I bleeping like sequencers despite my lack of aptitude for them. The filters- well, you can’t have everything as they say. I have some on other stacks as needed. It had not occurred to me the Synch was an output or a square wave. I did try it earlier in the week as part of a first day stumble through but it just made a wicked, shredding sound that wasn’t in context at the time. Good to know going forward. Should anyone make it to the last 90 seconds of the video I use the Disting in M6 to startling effect. Stay warm.
Very informative
Reasonably brilliant work as always,..
I bought this Moog Muse, was crazy about it and here comes the thing: Unfortunately, "Moog Muse" has terribly disappointed me.. To turn on this keyboard it takes more than a minute (!).. Functions do not work properly, lights go on and off quickly and without meaning. The speed of the envelope generators is WAY too slow.. Chords played faster produce unwanted fast arpeggios. I tested everything and even the new software (1.2) did not fix these serious bugs, so I have to warn about it.. De-tuning is a big problem, even the tuning function does not work. The keyboard froze even after programming faster sequences.. The overall sound was thin and not as fat as my old Moog products (Mini Moog, Memory Moog). My impression: This instrument is too digitally controlled inside by very slow and in the worst case... often incomplete processing. I returned the Moog Muse to the seller and I have to say, there is something very wrong with this new Moog and it doesn't sound like a typical Moog at all! The sound is also bad and not rich. Too many other synths sound fuller, richer and faster (envelope generators) and the filter here doesn't do what it promises!! Forget the actual "Moog" products. They are not what they promise and what they say they are. Direct comparison with my old Sequential Circuit products and many intensive tests finally opened my eyes after many hours, folks. Wake up... and stop believing in any advertisement for Moog... I'm sorry for all of you who fell into this trap like me. Sooner or later you will confirm what I am writing here.

A thing of beauty is a joy forever,..
The 960 is a little strange for sure but surprisingly powerful once you wrap your head around it. Having trigger outs per step allow it do some cool things in larger systems.
Hey Bata- the hardest working man in show business! You sir, are correct no doubt. I kept poking the 182 with my lead probing for the trigger holes,.. p.s. I wouldn't part with my 960 for anything. Stay warm.

Have you tried leaving it unplugged?
Would it have been easier to unbolt the slave cylinder to have space around the clutch fork to slide the new boot on?
pusillanimous!!
Great ideas!!! Love the realness.
Very good work ❤ the mono summed output always was odd to me. You made it better 🔥 subscribed ✨️ 🙏
I don't know if it's too late, but don't buy a Moog Muse. Dick explains that on June 13, 2023, Moog was acquired by InMusic (a large consortium) and manufacturing is now in Taiwan, after laying off a large portion of the Moog staff who were hand building them in Asheville, NC. Result: poor build quality, sound quality issues, etc... I'm going to lean more towards Arturia Polybrute, after learning about this change in direction. FrenchGuy ;)
From synthesizers to cars, we're living in the age of half-baked software, due to the profitability pressure on companies. I had to send in for a warranty case my 1.5 y.o. Prophet X, a beautiful machine, albeit feared for the bricked-on-boot "feature". My 40 y.o. T8 still goes strong... Thanks for the Video, I will be sitting on the side-line concerning Muse...
mine does this too, i turn it on and wait a bit. to warm it up, i run all 8 voices (osc 2 is more stable sometimes for whatever reason) for a bit and then quick tune. after the tune, its fine for a few hours, any detuning after that is solved with the quick tune. i made a warmup patch where i just press the hold button and it plays an 8 note chord for a while, then i quick tune and all is good. my minilogue xd does this same shit so im used to it. its my 2nd mini xd, and they both did it. i love this thing A LOT
Thanks for the tip.
Another staggering success!
the only choog or twoog is the guy in the video. Baron of lies. none of them pointed it out because the new os was already available. ANd now, month later it is worlds apart from this. you call other people an asshole? i am asking myself what you are with this move.
he cut the scene out where the muse shows his os version while booting. this is the old very first buggy OS which was already updated when the first costumers received their units. thats an malicious move and shows the character of this guy. forget this channel.
Nope. Updated to 1.02 within an hour of opening the box. Didn't make any difference. You don't have to register at this point. Best of luck MB and welcome to the channel!
Damage to reputation. this is the os the first moog muses were shipped with. when it arrived the new OS where already available. It still has some problems with midi and velocity as far as i know but other than that it should be very very stable. what this overweight and heavy breathing human shows you here is fake and malicious. I know that it is the old buggy os because of the boot time. he cut the os version out. malicious. the muse is for me the best analog polysynth out there. it is what i always wanted. great sound but very complex. polybrute is also insane. i bet this guy is one of these people sitting alone and sad in hos flat hating the world because it is so unfair to him but never tried anything to improve it. i really feel anger and shame for this guy.
It's trying to run 1.02 in the video. Is there a secret super-bandaid update you're not sharing with the rest of us? For what it's worth, you are right, I am not rich but I do live on private acreage which is payed for in full, so no mortgage which is the only way I can pay afford to pay $3800 usd for the privilege of being arbitrary.
So i had a bunch of issues with tuning, USB midi, vca envelope bleed and pops when voices dynamically change like if you're playing big chords on a long pad. Moog customer service is in disarray because of the hurricane so it took 3 weeks, 1 deleted service ticket and 2 closed ones, and an email to sales before I could get an RMA. Sent it out so hopefully the new one works properly!
I do love the synth and love the way it sounds so i hope it will get fixed one way or another. A big problem with manufacturing right now is they are rushing product out and skipping or diminishing the QA step so lots of bad quality gear is going out. It's a big problem with guitars also.
Was this a write-off?
Hi, It's working now. I don't know why. It's cool enough to keep and the warrantee is two years. I tried to register it at Moog but after creating an account I couldn't sign in so obviously another "InMusic" cluster. I'm on a mac. The stereo panning knob is the excellent part of the Muse for me. I posted these comments last week but they never showed up here so it seems I don't have a clue about anything. Keep on chooglin' as they say..
thanks....i'll pass on the Muse
Any updates after 10 days?? Im Curious. PB12 or muse is the question

I sell my Prophet 5 Desktop because of massive tuning-issues. My Muse works fine and stable. 🤷🏽
As a Chinese, I agree with your political views.
Place of manufacturer doesn't matter.
No? Why lie about it then? Unless you think not telling the truth is a different thing.
Please, keep up the petty bickering- I find it most amusing,..
Whoever asked about downloads. At present you don't have to sign up, sign in etc to download the firmware update. The Muse manual states: "Register to gain access to updates and extras" or words to that effect. That light, at the end of the tunnel,. it's a train!
It proved impossible to register the product on the Moog site. Made an account after about 5 minutes of fumbling but then couldn't log in. The login window is all greyed out. I guess they can deny responsibility that way when they say,. "hey, you didn't register your product,.." Not such an InMusic fan. Can't update to the MPC ver 3 for the same internet cock-up.
What is the E Switch and how do you actually achieve the panning ducked sound? Sounds awesome.
Too bad it has such weird quirks; otherwise, it would probably be a lot of fun. Stuff like that isn't just annoying on stage, but in the studio, every bug somehow kills the atmosphere and the creative flow. As soon as you have to start tinkering with something, the idea is gone. Well, with such strange artifacts when switching patches, new ideas probably come up there xD
Hahah “the new Choog” love your sense of humor. About the tuning, it takes a few minutes to stabilize the tuning, you need to let it warm up (Same thing happens with my OB-6). You can do the quick tune, specially in different temperatures, but do that after the tuning has already stabilized.
ok thx, deleted from list 😀
My first question was where is it made. Thank you.
CHINA
You kept it or returned it? The tuning stability never got better?
I still have it. It's still stuffed. The salesman said they'd replace it when the stock arrives from the far east. The most recent estimate is late this week. I'm in the US where everything I've tried to buy in the past four months having to do with Eurorack, music stuff or computers has been "out of stock" , "backordered- more on the way", "reserve your stock now" blah blah. WTF? This the war(s)? The US "election"? SW and Uli having a falling out?
It's working now after standing in a corner for a month. No idea why. As yet, I've used it successfully about three times. I kept it. Warrantee is supposedly two years but couldn't register the product on line as the website interface doesn't work on a mac. The individual osc are slightly better but still noticeably off. The patches still sound good though so maybe it's a "feature"?
Smile, though your heart is breaking,..

Hi, sorry, I was wrong about that. NI sells their packs for big money. As such the factory patches have always been copy protected. Lots of people make their own Kontact packs which can easily be converted. Sorry for the confusion.
