What do the numbers(3 or 4) below the picture of any of the Pokémon mean and how are they categorized and if there is a categorization for them? The area I'm mentioning also has the type of Pokémon and height and weight of mentioned Pokémon. I've not collected before and am curious about this area. Am interested in collecting sometime.

I lost all my original cards when I moved houses as a kid and I’m now in my 30’s wanting to relive my childhood but it is a completely different world out there with so many different cards and colors and sets it’s all so overwhelming! Would you also be able to explain what the differences between sets are, such as voltage, battle styles, lost origin, etc? What do they mean or represent? And why are there so many?
