Virginia Tech Athletics' 25,000th Hokie Club Member
Here is a video taken by my friend, Kyler, of my daughter and I being honored along with the first Hokie Club member, HOF Coach Frank Beamer, and Athletic Director Whit Babcock. This was during the first half of the VT vs UVA men's basketball game in February. So awesome.

Neal & Jolene Virginia Wedding Reception, July 1995
มุมมอง 2334 ปีที่แล้ว
One of two wedding receptions we had. We were married in April of 1995. For the Virginia Reception, we had it on the family farm, with a bluegrass band. Very casual. We opted to have everyone in the wedding party wear t-shirts stating who they were, such as "Groom", "Bride", "Mother of the Bride" and so on, so that strangers to one side of the family would know who everyone was.

Please DON'T subscribe unless you want to see me upload family videos from time to time. Seriously. We don't do sewing tutorials, well, ever. This was a one-time thing. Also, no, we don't have a pattern to share. Just watch the first two minutes of the video and make one with the simple directions. The pattern is for a 10-inch circle, and the brim requires a 15 long piece. They will not fit on ...

    Can you tell me where you got the fabric that you are currently using or where you got it? I love it! Thanks! This is the BEST tutorial on bouffants that I have seen. Thank you for doing this.

    Just a clarification. In your description, you mentioned a 10-inch circle. Should it not say 20" circle ? This has been the best pattern/instructions I've found online. Thank you so much for sharing your pattern!!

    The BEST tutorial! Thank you very much. I'm an OR nurse and have fluffy hair, which I don't like getting "squished", so I like the bouffant style so this may be perfect. Gonna go find tissue paper to make the pattern & then we'll see how I do with the rest. Wish me (mainly my hair) luck!

    Wouldn't the zipper foot work better to be sure you don't get the elastic caught in stitch, & than just use a sm. stitch back & forth instead of zig zag

    Thank you so much for the tutorial. Got it right by following your instructions the first time. With the short supply of PPE in the hospital, my sister who is a hospitalist really appreciate having a new hat and mask to wear each day. One question: what is the make and model of your sewing machine? I would love to get a machine that can do serger and sew in one instead of logging out my overlock machine. Thank you

    Great Tutorial" it's so beautiful to share with everyone. I haven't read any of the comments on here so please forgive me if I'm repeating this but' Sewing over pins can really damage your machine & people who are new to Sewing are watching & may not know how this can not just break needles it can really harm their machines... I don't know if it's possible to add to the description {Sewing over pins can harm machine} just a friendly suggestion 🤗 Otherwise great Tutorial and feel free to Delete this Comment! 🤗♥️♥️♥️🤗

    • @azcavalier
      @azcavalier 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it really depends on your machine and the foot you have. My wife on this video is sewing with a pretty nice Bernina with a walking foot. She *rarely* hits a pin. She's been sewing this way her entire life. But if you are using a less expensive machine and the regular foot that comes with it, then it is definitely a good idea to pull the pins out as you get to them.

    • @catherinegreen7003
      @catherinegreen7003 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@azcavalier I bought my 1rst Bernina in the 90's and it's an excellent machine. Your wife appears to be quite skilled at Sewing but for the viewers who are taking their lessons from videos & may not have ever touched a machine before {When I learned there were no videos so I did it the old fashioned way by reading every book I could get my hands on 😄} Some people see & sew. Sewing over pins can not only break a needle that can fly in their eye God forbid it could damage the bobbin case or throw off the timing. I guess I'm kind of old school and have been teaching my grandkids who pretty much learn everything by watching videos. So it wasn't your wife I was referring to it's the young newbies who are starting out and perhaps have a beginner machine and cannot afford to have their machines serviced... My apologies if I Offended you or your lovely wife in any way... 🙏🏾🤗♥️

      I think she just uses cotton, but there is no reason that a blend wouldn't work.
