Conquering The Last Frontier
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 4 ต.ค. 2023
In 2018, we made the 4,000-mile flight from Florida to Alaska with nothing but our bags. We sold our house and possessions to pursue a self-sufficient dream. We landed in a dry tiny cabin for six months until we purchased our beautiful Homestead in Fairbanks, AK. We face new challenges each day and have learned to embrace our life in the Last Frontier.

All i see is a missed opportunity! 🤣
Florida? Wow… Big move…. 50 below? 🖤🖤🖤
This is very helpful! We visited in March and loved your beautiful state!
Just discovered your channel. I was stationed there from the late 80s to the very early 90s. I"m subscribed to 2 other You Tube Channels that also show me really good video of Fairbanks and North Pole. I recognize a lot of the buildings that are shown here but the names over them I do not. This is the first I've seen of the gun store. When I was there, virtually all gun stores were out of homes. Fred Meyers was in a different location that it is today there. I would have spend a lot of time at the Taco King! Is that a bolt action .50 on the wall of that gun store? The last weapon I bought before I left was a Dan Wesson .357 super magnum or maximum for just over 300 dollars. I don't recognize all the 'new' specialty weapons I see.
I spant 3 weeks all over Alaska last month. Rained every day!
Waiting to see more about the remote cabin. I researched commercially available cabins to fly into but they are WAY over priced
How often do you run into bear?
Be there in 2 months Lord willing. Driving from Ohio and staying until the end of Aug. I can't wait for the Northern Lights!!! 2025 is supposed to be the best year for them! Praise Him Ty Father for this gift! Shalom 😇
We’re considering a move from Ohio as well! Any tips
@iwasjustsaiyan I LOVE IT!!! The beauty by far outweighs the cold. I could 100% imagine coming back permanently. There is a webpage for the Alaskan Highway, and you can call 511 for weather updates. I was told to have a full size spare and snow chains. I did/have not needed either 🙏 Just do it! Well I'd say oray about it 1st...then do it 🤣🤣You won't be disappointed!!! Shalom!!
Thank goodness not cold in Western WA yet.. Isn't it a bit early for snow there?
Honestly , nothing better than living off grid during the winter , I love it
You can keep it
Odd as it seems - now that I am in Virginia and no longer Anchorage - I miss the snow
We had frost this morning. Winter is close here too
That is so awesome
Great idea
That is so cool.
Yor son is so big ! Hope he's achip off the ol block
Great to see you! Laz is getting so tall and handsome. Muchas costs buenas Del Senor. Hugs to Dee and the Pugs ❤❤😊
Here in sw MI. Ryan Hall Y'all is showing weather models with the probability of snow sometime during the last half of October.
Awesome family time ❤
❤️☀️🌀☀️❤️ Awesome adventure!
Did you bring the pups?
Happy times together
❤️☀️🌀☀️❤️
Hope you had a great time ❤
So much family fun thanks Billy and Dee. Pugs are sweet 💕
I call them Diva ladies! Lol! Just like my diva lady..
Mrs Dee, looking sexy as hell, which is normal. Billy, you look like you've thinned out in the face
How nice, camping....
How do get the tank out from your truck?
The tank Is not that heavy, one person can carry it
nice
When you mention the outhouse and hauling water, are you living OFF GRID? Also, is it true that North Pole has PFAS contaminated ground water as I've been told by some locals while visiting there from Wasilla??
I have electricity, but no other services 😁. Regarding the ground water contamination in North Pole, there are significant groundwater contaminants dec.alaska.gov/spar/csp/sites/north-pole-refinery/property/
Please consider doing a video on "Southerners" moving to Alaska. From what I have researched this past year Real Estate prices and very high.
Real Estate prices are extremely overinflated due to the lack of housing, a mediocre property that was 60K five years ago, has triple if not more in today's market. It reminds me of the housing bubble burst in 2008.
That food is dope!
Thank you so much for these wonderful videos. There’s no way we can know about this without watching them through you those of us who love Alaska or might want to live there one day. Hello from Oregon on the coast and in the country.
Glad you like them!
❤️☀️🌀☀️❤️
That was a nice time for you and Laz. ❤❤❤
I've lived in Fairbanks 14 years now. It's interesting and fun for a couple years, but then it sucks. If you leave a rake or shovel outside, it'll get stolen. Temps get into the 90s in summer, and most folks don't have air con. The fruit here has almost no flavor. Options for entertainment are very limited and unsatisfying. The women are.... large. And the worst thing is that there's an EXTREMELY high level of incompetence in every sector. Doctors, dentists, repairmen, restaurants, the university, box stores, etc. very often are run by or employ people who have no idea what they're doing and have bad customer service. They only stay in business because options are so limited here. It's so frustrating.
We have the same problem in rural Oregon. I think this problem exist in all somewhat rural places.
Same problem in Wasilla, I'm affraid to say I think is a new way of life in alot of small towns😢
Can tell by the thumbnail you went to Taco King. Fast forward to see if I’m right. Edited: Yep.
Yeah 👍
@@ConqueringTheLastFrontier Best carnitas in town.
Ready for hunting season!
Sea otters? It’s beautiful there. I like the camper.
Nice RV!! Is that a 19 foot?
I love it down there ❤
Nice getaway. Beautiful scenery God Bless 🙏❤🙏
👍 Smash that like button, share it with everyone, and on ALL PLATFORMS.🔔Help our channel grow ♥
I can’t wait to get to this point!
I have everything to do this maybe tomorrow I saved a cat treat bottle hopefully get this done still working on the quail coop in Texas heat so been setting them out in on the cover deck they are almost two weeks and feathering out
I live in North Pole Alaska 😎✌️
Me too!
I had quail (hard boiled) eggs for dinner last night. Cooked in a stir fry.
I did live in Juneau for 2 years which I wouldn't recommend to anyone.
