      Great question… no idea! I don’t test 1RM for bicep curls because of the high prevalence of bicep tears. I will leave that pursuit for people like the great CT Fletcher.

      I mean… you could also ask what’s the point of NOT doing a push up lol 😉…I like to do a push-up before initiating the wall walk just so that I’ve used my upper body from start to finish of the complex. The main focus is the handstand practice, but the push-up is a fun freebie. I was also using it as a warmup to something I was doing later in the workout. Appreciate the comment!

    Impressive video, C.J. Vega. Looking forward to your next upload from you. I crushed the thumbs up button on your content. Keep up the fantastic work! The way you emphasized the importance of maintaining technique during ring dips is crucial. How do you suggest balancing strength training with flexibility work to optimize performance in these movements?

    • @BeyondAdaptationFitness
      @BeyondAdaptationFitness 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is a great question that I don't have a short answer for, but I can tell you the basic approach I use for myself. (1) Before working out: Dynamic Stretching and Mobility Work to address any chronic asymmetry in the body and areas that are prone to injury. All the "primer" videos I've uploaded so far illustrate how I go about that. (2) During the Workout: For movements that challenge my mobility (i.e. flexibility with control), I start with a range of motion and weight that I am comfortable with, and slowly challenge myself to extend the range of motion in the stretched position. So if the bottom of the ring dip feels sketchy in the shoulders/chest, maybe starting with a slow banded dip to help strengthen and lengthen the muscles/connective tissue without putting too much load on them initially. (3) After the workout: If there is time, and I think it's necessary, some light static/passive stretching in areas that may become stiff as a result of the workout, such as the front and back of the shoulders and the lower back. And if they still don't feel right before my next workout, I will address that first. Thank you for watching, and thank you for the comment!

    I'll never understand what good a kettlebell is and how they became so popular. I cant think of any movement you couldn't do w normal dumbbells. Ofc they work, I'm just always amazed that they exist 😅 Nice physique btw. You look strong girl !

      Thank you for your comment 😃 It’s just a preference… I think it’s fun! I find it easier to do ballistic movements like the snatch and clean. I use dumbbells too, but for more traditional push pull movements.

    What's the weight of that kettebell? And at 1:50, why don't you squat more with your legs? Your entire motion seems to be focused on the lower back. I was told to engage the legs as well

    • @BeyondAdaptationFitness
      @BeyondAdaptationFitness 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for watching, and thank you for your question! I am using a 35 lb kettlebell. This kettlebell swing is a hip hinge movement so the back stays straight, and the glutes and hamstrings stay nicely loaded during the downswing by keeping the legs a little straighter. Similar to a good morning or an RDL. Think of it like pulling back a string on a bow and arrow. A little bend in the knee at the bottom of the swing is desirable, but I would not describe the objective as a squatting action. The concentric movement is initiated by hip and knee extension in a coordinated motion. The entire posterior chain plus the abdominal muscles must be properly engaged. The legs are definitely doing their part. You are right, if the lower back is not supported during the swing it will absorb most of the shearing loads, and is a recipe for disaster. If you’ve been instructed on a different style of swing and it feels safe, do what feels right to you :)

    • @luperamos7307
      @luperamos7307 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @BeyondAdaptationFitness Thank you. Someone once said it's the best exercise there is. I think you used both hands for that 35 lbs kettlebell. I often see people alternating arms. That's a heavy weight though you are using.

    • @BeyondAdaptationFitness
      @BeyondAdaptationFitness 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@luperamos7307 I love doing alternating Kettlebell Swings! Hopefully I'll do some in future videos. If you are interested in learning about different kettlebell movements, I highly recommend "Enter the Kettlebell" by Pavel Tsatsouline. He's the original, and this video I'm linking helped me tremendously dial in my technique. th-cam.com/video/cKx8xE8jJZs/w-d-xo.html
