Fixing a type 2 electric vehicle charging cable
The cable started to have connection problems around a year after I bought it. When plugged in, if it did connect first time, then any movement of the cable would cause the circuit to be broken. Most of the time after plugging in it would not work without a lot of wiggling of the cable.

Skoda/Volkswagen/Seat EV charging error, flashing orange light, gear shift won't last lock.
มุมมอง 1.2K2 ปีที่แล้ว
I think this fault might be common to a number of models from Volkswagen, Skoda and Seat. The problem manifests as a charging fault - when the cable is connected, the charging indicator light flashes orange and the car will not charge. But the root of the problem is that the gear shifter does not lock in P (park) when the car is turned off. In the case of my car, the problem is intermittent and...

Defective Type 2 charging cable
มุมมอง 332 ปีที่แล้ว
Faulty cable. Seems to be an internal breakage in the cable somewhere. Malfunctions on all chargers. The cable is only 13 months old and is in perfect external condition, other than being a bit dirty from being on the ground.

Don't want to discourage anyone, but get the tool please. It's 30 quids, you may need it again, or sell if you dont want. It gets the job done in seconds. No need for sweating efforts and injury/damage etc. Save yourself and get that tool, it's specially made for this tragedy. Unless you couldn't afford it, look for alternatives, but if you could afford, just get the tool please.
I bought master cylinder pliers, cost £35 and they just slipped of the clip, what a waste of money they were.......oh and clip still not in hahaha Maybe i got the wrong tool, any advise would be great
Also took us around 3 hours 😂😂 now have to fit the clip back on the new cylinder
I hope you managed to get the clip back in, if so how did you manage it, taking it all out and replacing was easy, but I have spent hours trying to get the clip back in with no lick
@@darkphoenix6811 the white clip?
Hi, I have the same problem. How did you fix your car?
In my case there were two problems 1) a faulty micro switch in the gear selector resulting that the car not knowing that the lever is set to park. If this is your problem, you can override it by charging the car with the ignition on, and 2) the signal wire in the charging cable was broken half way along it's length meaning that the charging station does not know if the car is connected or not. The car was eventually repaired under warranty and I fixed the cable by splitting open the cable with a sharp, identifying the signal wire and replacing it.
@@GuySands can you give us the PN for this microswitch, i saw the picture of it and looks like a NC switch but with 2 pins. thanx in advance
The problem as I understand it from a an E-Up! Online Forum is a faulty microswitch inside the gear lever mechanism. That needs to be replaced to resolve the problem. Essentially, it is a design fault, for which the likes of Toyota would have issued a recall and fixed it free of charge. Unfortunately, VW isn’t exactly famous for doing the same thing - and would rather charge you for a brand new gear selector plus labour for fitting. Otherwise, the VW E-Up! / Seat Mii / Skoda Citigo IV EV are brilliant cars. I want to buy an E-Up! However, doing my research, I’ve become aware of this disturbing Achilles Heel - and it’s sadly, putting me off buying the vehicle. This needs a recall by the manufacturer!

Worst cars on the planet. Cheers.
How the hell did you get it out???!!! Struggling for hour just can't get it out
And how will you re instate the cables insulation 😢
Brilliant absolutely brilliant... dude you rule... can't fank you enough...
Just put some up and it was like sticking a banana to the wall
It's a pain, but I found using a small cable tie wrap worked a treat for me because it locks in place so no need to squeeze constantly. I only thought of it after trying different mothods then it dawned on me to use a cable tie, done in seconds after that. Hope that helps someone.
How did you manage to get the ca le tie on, I tried and it just slipped off and tightened around the pedal which flicked up and smacked me in the mouth. I have watched a few videos showing this fix but not one actually show the install of that ridiculously hard to fit white clip
The weakness in Denon cd players is the disk tray drive belt that opens and closes the disk tray, it then has to lift the cd into position for it to play. The drive belt is basically a thin rubber band that loses elasticity fairly quickly. Once it becomes slightly loose, it won’t load a cd properly. If you play a lot of cd’s, it won’t last very long. Worst design ever.
excellent step by step guide for removing pipes and the white clip, problem with reading manuals, they usually tell you when you need to remove a clip ( which in most cases is common sense ) but what the manuals fail to explain is how you remove the clip, plastic clips / metal clips come in all shapes and sizes and each have a particular way to remove them, so when tackling what appears to be a i/2 hour job it turns out to be an all day job.
Is there a repair manual? where can I get it? I have an Astra J GTC 1.4T 2014
Agreed
Most certainly it is the belt driving both the eject system AND lifting the CD into reading position. Disassemble following instructions at th-cam.com/video/qm9X6L0GhMo/w-d-xo.html but only remove the top part of wiring, it allows you sufficient space to get to the belt and relace it. You don't necessarily need a original replacement belt, a rubber band of similar size works fine. Check before reassembly that the disc after being "swallowed" is lifted into its "play" position.
I have the same problem please tell us how you manage this problem. Thank you very much.
Hello. I have the same problem. Did you fix it? What is the reason?
I done this job last week on my Astra j, what a pig this white clip was, the easiest way I found was to get zip ties on the clips and pull them as tight as you can then rip the clutch pedal up, jobs a good one
Brilliant thanks you Sir 👍
Great info thank you
It sounds like a mechanical problem! Given the sounds I hear, it spins the CD up trying to read the data. Then you hear a repetitive clicking noise - to me this sounds like it is a slipping gear/sprocket. It wants to move it, but it is stuck. So with force, it keeps slipping over a tooth of the gear (if that makes any sense to you?). This might be either a fault in the laser carriage moving (in&out or lens up&down) - or a broken switch (corroded contact, loose wire, physically broken) that is actuated. CD playing in steps 1. Loading disc 2. Checking disc is in and set properly 3. Spinning up of disc (variable speeds) 4. Positioning the laser (moving cartridge to desired spot) and focusing the lens (by moving it up and down) 5. Reading TOC (table of contents) - it reads out number of tracks and overall playing time, usually shown on display after 6. Ready to play CD This video gives a good idea of how it works: th-cam.com/video/yWeWXytbh9M/w-d-xo.html Since step 1-3 works, the problem seems to be step 4. You can try opening the device and manually reposition the laser cartridge. So next time trying to play the worm gear motor will move it to recalibrate its position. That might help. You might also check for any rubber driving belts in the system. Sometimes they get loose with time and start slipping. You can also visually check for switches in the mechanic workings - for corroded contacts or other problems (broken of part, blocking by small debris, loose wire etc.) Try to find a service manual if you're a handy person - they often can be found as a free PDF on Google. That also might give an explosion drawing and troubleshooting guide, sometimes internal test mode etc. Good luck!
The clicking you hear is due to a worn drive belt which causes the teeth to slip / click.
Same problem, went to repair at least three times, as I had bought a new one. I am tired and going to change brand, surely i will lose some sound quality but will win rest
Also a tip when you come to press the master cylinder back into the plastic housing where it connects to the pipe that goes to the block where all the brake pipes are you will struggle to push the fitting in as the new o ring on the master cylinder is way tight, use the old one off the master cylinder your replacing and pop the clip on, way much easier believe me I couldn't get the new one in and I tried everything. Use old o ring it be fine and will save you so much trouble.
Yep cheers for this I'm a fitter and even this did my head in. Along with standing on my head no fitter likes working on the pedals upside down sweating ya nuts off ! Much appreciated.
Best explication…love you!!!!!
Hi! I have a Climate 3000i and my internal unit makes a high-pitched metalic noise that could just be hurd in your video as well... I'm curious if that sound is loud enough to bother you in the case of your internal unit, or is mine noisier, or... It's pretty upseting to me after a wile... Thanks!
top lad ... just about to embark on said removal..will toast you once its off:)
I have the same problem. What was the solution you found?
Hello. I have the same problem. Did you fix it? What is the reason?

How do you bleed it?
Get a Gunsons Elzibleed kit, £20 or so, runs off your tyre (make sure tyre is delflated to under 18PSI. Very easy to use. Fill the filler bottle up, attach suitable cap to the actual fluid reservoir on the car (make sure it's tight). Stick one of the additional tube pipes onto the bleed nipple, put end of tube into a decent sized clear bottle, uncrack the bleed nipple until a steady flow of fluid comes. Once no air bubble visible give it a few more seconds then tighen the bleed nipple and immediately release the tyre pressure valve fitting so as not to put too much pressure on the system.
Good video. Short and effective. Thank you.
How did you get the cylider from under the pedal plate? Some say to remove the steering colum???? Thanks for your video but i need help.
Yes need to drop steering column as there is one bolt hiding behind. Also take note on pedal where clip connects to there is a black metal clip on the pedal. If that pops off be sure to replace it back or else you will not get enough pressure on cylinder as white clip rocks back and forth on the pedal housing

How do you disconnect the feed hose from the reservoir or the master cylinder end? Thanks
It’s definitely compressor, not fan and it isn’t normal. May be it hasn’t got enough oil inside or something else 🤷♂️. And you should wash condenser. IMHO.
Have you got it fixed? Mine starts okay, but keeps 'slipping', it 'rewinds' to a few seconds or 'fast-forwards' a few seconds frequently🙂
I've owned 11 vehicles in my life. worked extensively on each of them, and the Vauxhall Meriva has been the worst for DIY by far. Nothing but nothing is simple to replace on this car. There's never any room to work in, and the various methods used to attach one component to another seem designed to baffle and frustrate.
Заморозил?
I had exactly the same noise issues from new with my Bosch outdoor unit. It was replaced within a couple of weeks with exactly the same model and that was quite a but quieter but certainly a lot noisier than other makes. I am having my system replaced with a Mitsubishi three way split system in a couple of weeks as these are a lot quieter than the Bosch.
Hello. Como puedo saber si esta bien o no antes de montarla
try going to next track. Mine also did not auto play but when i skipped a track it worked.
Thank you so much my friend
Thank you i have been looking for ages as this is the same setup on a VW golf 2006. What a pain in the bottom it is. I will go and try your method....
Did you get this resolved?
Astra H 2007 1.7CDTI owner here. Just took the damn thing out. But mine didn't have a white clip. It had a metal bolt running through the pedal stem that was secured with a metal clip.
Thanks for the vid anyone had an issue with the new cylinder being very difficult to press? I'm not sure what's going on with it
Superb video.
