I was diagnosed when I was 11I am 58 now. My mum paid for my assessment. I know I went to London for the assessment and I know my mum had to pay for itbut I dont know who it was. My mum, now 96 can not remember but says the report was given to my scool. The scool closed years ago and education authority can not tell me what happened to records but think as they would be paper records they would have been destroyed, because I have no proof so I can not ever provid anything. I have been looking into geting a new assessment but looks like its quite expensive and also I dont know if I could have one as I had a stroke in March and dont know if that would be an issue and change test results. I would be grateful for any advice on if and where i could get an assessment done and if there is any help with the cost of testing.

One thing. Just because a person is exhibiting a behaviour, it doesn't mean it's good for them or even that they are enjoying it. Just off the top of my head, animals in captivity pace in circles. Yes, the nurses assessment and solution was likely wrong but so might yours be if you assume that person is not in distress.

Years ago I got my first ever job as a night nurse watching children and babies at home after they return from the NICU. I was 22 and very inexperienced, with this being my first job ever. There was one night with a baby where I watched their oxygen the entire night and never saw it drop and attended as best as I expected myself to at the time. The mother came in the next day, yelled at me furiously, and demanded to know why I was trying to kill her child. I hadn't had the supplemental oxygen on all night. The bright side of this was that the next day I came over, she apologized for how she acted. She explained that shock was her first instinct because she's trusting her child with an inexperienced stranger. And because of this fiasco, she learned that her child is able to sleep without extra O2 and moved the timetable up on independent breathing significantly. It's helped me be very diligent about oxygen now, and this mistake helped me be mindful of oxygenation as I moved to Med/Surg and Covid care.

Sorry but I had to turn it off and look for another video... not sure but think its due to my neurodiversity, as to why this distracted me so much, from hearing what she was actually saying. I just couldn't carry on listening. Even had to mute it just to write this comment. I mean maybe 1 or 2 mispronounciations but it was constant. If she can't get this right what else about the information is wrong. Videos are usually a better way for me to absorb information due to my dyslexia, adhd and my other learning differences. This just messed with my head so much. To validate your practice every 3 years is a process of re doing it. So its re- validate. We are not re - evaluating or re evalidating (which isn't an actual word) our practice. Theres quite a difference.

What you need to do as a NHS practitioner is to make sure you gaslight every woman and girl (the inferior, biological kind), into believing that anyone with a penis, is in fact a woman like them. Play down any fears they may have about being forced to sharing their vulnerable spaces with men & boys. If they do express concerns, make sure you note this down on their records and make them feel they are at risk of losing healthcare if they insist on single sex provision or care. In healthcare literature and appointments, make sure you refer to women as 'womb-owners', 'menstruators', 'ovulators', 'people with vaginas' or 'Cis women', for the term 'woman' is a toxic and exclusionary term. However, DO NOT use similar terms for men. Just call men, 'men', for they do not want nor tolerate being duhumanised in this way. Ensure (or 'encourage') that all staff are wearing the party colours on their lanyards (rainbow ones) and that speech is approved by Stonewall. If any staff member questions these practices or use of pronouns, sit them down and make them feel like they have commited a very serious taboo, and will be at risk of being managed out of their job, at minimum, or might face an official disciplinary.
