    It's becoming obvious that this close to 4th of July we aren't going to be able to make any reservations around Big Bear. Is it easy to find dispersed camping spots up there? Near the lake? Appreciate any info.

      Yes, I would recommend the south side as it’s pretty accessible. You can just search big bear south yellow post and you will find plenty of camping off the main trail

      lol heck ya brother! If you have the money i would go with the hard shell. Can't beat the ease of deployment and speed to pack down. The soft is great, but takes extra time and effort at camp.

      Sorry for the late reply. Both the top zipper and the bottom sliding zipper are separate. The top zipper is actually attached to the shell cover and the bottom sliding zipper is a different piece. Yes , you must purchase separately

    Mini Solar Ti; You can steplessly dim down a bulge and all other hungry electricity consumers with a 5000W dimmer (7, EUR). I run 5 dimmers in parallel on an 850W inverter. Kettle 2.2KW at 150W runs 12 hours a day, so the water is always hot. The room is also nicely heated. 2.5KW washing machine runs in parallel with dimmed to 200...400W. Iron, dishwasher, oven, electric heater, coffee machine, all internal heating are throttled with me. Videos about it on my channel th-cam.com/video/eC2olbCBhh0/w-d-xo.html The inverter stays cool, quiet and the MOSFETs remain intact because extreme current peaks no longer arrive at the inverter. Now every Mini PV Inverter is enough to sell large devices...

    Hi thanks for the review. I'm wondering how your long term impression is for durability, packing and performance has been after using the sequoia ? I ordered the sequoia from REI for $72 but just saw the outland Living Firecube and wonder if it's worth considering with the sleeker packaging and metal lid since I'll be campging with a small sedan. Wondering if the bag or the hard lid makes packing/stacking it easier ? Thanks 🍻

    • @romeras600
      @romeras600 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @Yellowpost_Outdoors
      @Yellowpost_Outdoors 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late reply. After countless camping and off road trips the sequoia firepit is still in great condition. I have had no issues. I do not mind the soft shell design of the case as it keeps the size down. Camp Chef is a name brand and they make quality products. I would buy this item again as it is a durable piece of equipment.

    Hey brotha I’m trying to head out there with my son but I thought trout season opens at the end of the month??? Let me know what’s up please

    • @Yellowpost_Outdoors
      @Yellowpost_Outdoors 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, trout season starts the last weekend of April. This means that the state will start planting trout in those areas and in addition the lakes will open up. The Blake Jones Derby is an annual competition held weeks before the start of the season. The town of Bishop stocks the local area for fisherman to compete for one day. Hope this helps!

    I have a Kukenam 3 ruggedized on a 5 foot Tacoma bed with the half-height bed rack. This biggest pain in the neck is getting the zipper closed behind the cab. We have a 4 foot length of paracord attached to the zipper which helps zipping up the cover behind the cab and the wife sits in the back seat with the rear window open to help guide the zipper. The wife and I take care to fold the fabric in nicely when closing the tent else it's much harder to close and zip the outer cover.

    • @Yellowpost_Outdoors
      @Yellowpost_Outdoors 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for sharing your experience. When you deploy your tent do you detach the cover zipper or leave it on? I reattach the zipper and cover every time and it takes a very long time :(

    • @jonm9132
      @jonm9132 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Yellowpost_Outdoors I have a ruggedized Kukenam 4 for more than two years now. I leave the rain fly at home most of the time on my trips, it is easier to zip the cover without it. I use stratchits connected with tie down straps that goes from inside the tent, out the windows then back in to help keep the fabric in and collapsed when closing. With a small carabiner attached to the zipper, I use one of the tent rods to pull the zipper behind the cab. Happy camping!
