Sam and I on Stockton Beach NSW Australia one of the longest beaches you are legally allowed to ride on in Australia. Decided to take the new Bike on the sand should have thought my track would get me but oblivious to my upcoming fall! Cracked a rib/broke it rang the doctor said don’t come nothing can be done!! Great fun either way like all riders our falls are some of the best memories and worst!

One of my Favourite runs. Finchley track usually I would’ve done the whole lot except flood waters at end would have stopped me. Trying the Different Riding modes on Gravel to see the differences between the modes. Largest difference was Rain and Enduro Pro. It’s Interesting because I thought some other modes might also change traction control interventions and ABS where as actually they are more about lean angles and whether the wheelie mode is enabled. I still had good fun trying it out. I hope you enjoyed watching

23rd of December 2020 my friend Sam and I did 600km into Upper Hunter Region, 2 Hours North of Sydney, Australia. 200-400mm of rain 2 days prior meant the streams became small rivers! I’m curious why you guys don’t stand on your pegs to do the stream crossings. The method I use is to one. Walk the path and gotta get boots wet. Two, go back, get on the bike, follow path you just walked get on the pegs (lowering your center of gravity) and go nice and smooth and steady until you have to put a foot down (which you can do while on pegs with practice and agility)….and then cross. Sitting and crossing is a sure recipe to stalling and losing balance.
We are both aware that water more than 50cm deep is not good to drop the bike in so in deep water we are more able to get our short legs down just in case it hits a large rock that throws balance off... that and laziness

Hi Tom Love your content. Keep it up :) Can you advise what tyres you use? I am assuming that they are something like 30/70 or perhaps 50/50. I will be taking delivery of a GSA in August and wanting guidance on the tyres I should eventually put on the bike (I think it comes with 90/10s). I want the ability to go on dirt roads occasionally (e.g fire or logging trails but nothing more sketchy than that) and thought 50/50 would be appropriate. Wondering how much this type of tyre (yes i know it also depends on the brand) comprises road performance. I would appreciate your thoughts. Cheers
Mitas E07 on rear and E09 on front they were great just got to know the limits in the rain because they last 10,000km vs 1500 for continental

Absolutely true never liked riding or commuting in town but getting out and exploring is as safe as you make it… my ideal day is getting home with bike and myself unscathed

It’s only stress for my shorter friend happy to have a ride like this keep in mind it’s 2.5hrs to this location and 3hr home so plenty of riding in between the technical stuff

Yeah waiting for new 1350GSA I’ve been told it’s going to be amazing even adaptive height so when you slow and stop you can get your feet down easily for us under 6ft guys im 5 10” and off-road it’s tricky when ground is slippery

yes its fine just dont go when its wet as at other end is putty road and the water crossing becomes a river crossing still fine only 50-60cm deep. I did it alone that day but really only did 1/4 of it ive done it by myself with pannier no problem

GS has such a low Centre of gravity never seems quite hairy enough but my uncle on KTM is different thanks for watching

I only ride alone. Makes me a bit sad that some of that would either get me stuck or prevent me from continuing. I don’t don’t know people who ride, or they ride and they’re wives keep their balls in their purse and don’t let them out for adventures.
I did it alone the week before but you just have to ride like you are alone although I did drop it only a low speed tight turn however the water wasn't nearly as deep. Safe riding
