A Space to Enjoy
I got a new window and to be honest, it took some time to get comfortable. Now it´s just nice having gentle drops of rain knocking during autumn. It fells much cozier in here and I have to say, I never enjoyed my little studio space as much as I do these days. It would be nive having a larger space, something seperated from home, but since it hasn´t been another option, I just make the best out of it. As long as I can play guitar and make music whenever I want, I´m happy.

Perfect mood for a slower morning! Lovely as always!
@@thevaliant_music Haha "For a slower morning". Exactly my thoughts!
Loved this video! Beautifully illustrated with your words, music and images. Totally agree with your last statement. I also notice a slow transformation of my living room over the last few years, as if I were at the beginning of that journey. Who knows where it may lead :) I was wondering if your blue acoustic is an Ibanez PF by chance.
@@bravelittlegirl If you meant the black acoustic...yeah it was an Ibanez, and it was so hard to play. My fingers hurt when I think back at that one 😅 And yes, most of the time it's little tweaks here and there and one day you look around and realize that a lot has changed.
Oh, maybe I saw it blue cause mine is blue. My last upgrade has been making a “pedalboard” in a shoe rack :) Step by step, yeah. Greetings!

I am in the market for a looper setup, I was looking between this and the Aeros Looper. Price wise this is way cheaper, less bells and whistles, but also less to go wrong. What are your thoughts ? Still worth buying in 2024?
@@tomfoolery4077 The Aeros plays in a totally different League, but I' m still happy with 22500 and would buy it again. I heard that the Aeros still has problems like a "pop" that sometimes occurs, which kept me away getting one. If you don't need midi, fade out or more than two tracks, the 22500 is a good unit to go with. I honestly didn't find anything that suits my style better then this pedal.
@ thanks for the reply. I’ll see if I can try one out sometime. Cheers
@@tomfoolery4077 You're welcome. Good luck finding what fits your needs!
this is so good. are drums queued in your daw or are those added in post?
Thanks man, I appreciate it! The drums are out of my daw, but I had a section looping while recording, just to get the feeling right. After I was done recording I took some time with the help of some groove library's, adding more parts and did little tweaks here and there.

I'm in much the same state of mind as you. I'm 50 years old, no music theory skills and I've been playing for myself, and most of the time without recording, for over 30 years. I play to relax. Which surprises those around me most of the time. I pick up my guitar, trun on my DAW with some plugins and play. I still have a bit of trouble writing the drums and bass parts, but watching your videos motivates me to try this kind of experiment. I'd love to be able to make a rigg with the same pedals as you. The microcosm and the Chase Bliss make me want to, but their price puts a stop to my desire ;-) Still, it's more practical than picking up your mouse and moving pots around. In any case, thanks for sharing and I continue to watch your videos with great pleasure! (sorry for my English, but I'm not fluent)
@@ziarn5135 Yes, the thing with using pedals during the recording is that it's possible turning on knobs and record what's happening. Im my case everything needs to be before the looper in the signal chain. With the Microscosm and Mood it took me a while to pull the trigger because of their price tag...and I felt bad for some days spending that money. Since I know what kind of pedals I really use a lot, it's easier making decisions wether to buy a pedal or not. I know when I find something I really like, I won't look around for new gear as much. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and watching!
Can bass players do this? 😢
@@capercrusader7129 I'm pretty sure the answer is yes. It's more about how to use the Bass really.

Great video! It was so satisfying to listen at 16:52 when all the parts started to come together with this style of 5th Element OST. And the second part was top notch as well. Have you ever thought about your music sessions as some kind of a meditation for you?
@@blueberry.soundscapes Thanks, it's nice to hear you liked the video! And yes, I think it's indeed a kind of meditation for me, at least in the way of being concentrated on just one thing. The effect with meditation is me being more relaxed afterwards, but sadly making music just works for the time playing. 😅

@@rogerward5546 It's so good to hear it's not just me with that vibe 😅
Thanks for sharing your workflow and personal perspective on music. And as always, great music!
Great video, picked up a couple of tips for my own playing with pedals. I have a very similar way of working but I use a mpc one plus instead of a daw. I have about the same amount of knowledge of music theory and never felt it limits me, there are plenty of famous musicians who don’t either. If it sounds good it’s good. I actually think knowing a bit more might get in the way, you reach for a note because it sounds good irrespective of whether it is the correct note to play and that’s more interesting. I play in all moods and I find the act of playing allows me to forget whatever is going on and you just focus on the playing. If something good comes out great and if not then great also as I had fun. Changing up gear helps me as well, I just got rid of my microcosm, it sold in a couple of hours on eBay and replaced it with a Strymon Timeline and have a great fun with that and i find it is much more usable than the microcosm and opened up new ideas.
@@ninjamonk Yeah, I feel the same. As soon as I new my first 5 chords I started writing songs. I just tried things for the joy of it. One of my most beloved sings I wrote 20years ago. I am stoked how good it is still and how I came up with something like that only through experimenting. You're so right saying that even when the outcome isn't great, it has been fun at least. Changing gear can do a lot and spark inspiration, but I can't see myself selling my Microcosm 😅 Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!!!
You're not alone. I'm 55 years old and I have been plucking away at strings since age 16. I still do not know what I'm doing. I really enjoyed the video. A great look into your process and it makes me feel better about my current process. Thank you for sharing. I wish I was brave enough to make videos.
@@brad6919 Thanks man! I'm also glad hearing there are more people without that knowledge. One day I had a jam with a drummer and guitarist and was trying to come up with a solo...and failed. The guitarist tried to explain to me what to play, not knowing I'm tuned to D. I said it's not that easy for me to transpose everything a full step. When I played some Chords and he was going to play something over it...he completed messed up. It was fun and he just laughed and said "oh, I know what you meant". He couldn't wrap his head around it either. He realized he can play one scale also and that's it. I'm sure he couldn't sleep that night 😅
It wasn’t boring at all. I’m sure it’s not easy to explain the whole process. As a newie to making my own music, I sincerely appreciate the way you deliver your experience in this video. Thanks!
@@bravelittlegirl That's so kind, thanks!
@Andreas_tropicalwinter I don’t really know what I’m playing most of the time either. I think it’s ok to keep a certain naivety when creating for oneself, for the joy of playing. For me that’s the most rewarding way to approach any form of artistic expression. Maybe that’s why I find your channel and music both interesting and inspiring.
@@bravelittlegirl Thank you, I love to hear that! And yes I'm with you keeping a level of naivety. One of the best things when playing is not to overthink the process!
I have always played by myself in a very similar way, just playing with a boss RC-10 looper with the inbuilt drum tracks. I taught myself how to play and never know what not or what key i'm in or what notes im playing because i never need to. The times few times i have played with other people i have often felt so embarrassed because i feel like i know nothing about music in terms of theory. I'm glad im not the only one !
