On the xbox live replacement called Insignia

I'm playing on a console, using a service called Insignia which replaces the defunct Xbox Live 1.0 There are videos on it you can search up on how to get your console set up with it, however there also exists an emulator called Xemu that works with Insignia The game can be ran off disc, but you'll need a modded console to use the DLC.

What do you mean? Like with the group I play? They're called MechAssault Reborn. We play on Xlink kai every weekend.

@@calebhale7311 It runs on CXBX just fine, used to be worse back in 2021, but the compatibility has drastically improved

Of course I do. But you don't *need* an OG to play this game thankfully. It's way more accessible nowadays.

My concern lied more with how it'll either be the vacuum that sucks every player up and kills activity on Insig, or it gets dropped after the novelty wears off and kills Insig that way, both of which are bad for us in different ways.

@@BigTa1k I have a more positive take in that a lot of people who aren't signed up, will do so once Halo 2 is released. There's quite a lot I've talked to on forums etc... some like many other games on the platform, but don't have the motivation until the main one is there to sign up. Though I do have some concerns that those people who aren't signing up until then will only ever play Halo 2. I think it'll take the lion's share of traffic and weaken other games (certainly after release and for a bit after) But frequent lobbies for other games will continue to be planned on the main Insignia discord and others, and those do get busy enough if planned. Obv, Halo 2 wont ever need planned events, probably the only game on the platform that will have constant players, like it is on xlink.

@@realgroovy24 for our sake I hope you're right. I want to experience the original H2 as it was in the early 2000s. But at the same time I don't have stuff like Crimson Skies or our version of Mech1 to be hindered, and the Insig community itself feels so fractured for what is supposed to be a massive group.

Better to watch than to play unless you 4-stack (at least) with people that communicate Campaign is good regardless

Like, the mod literally works like as if it's its own title update, meaning that as you've shown in the video that vanilla users won't see the lobby. They have no excuse at all to say that using Rebalanced would cross contaminate or be used to "encourage cheaters" or whatever dumb f*** excuses they want to come up with. If someone cheats then that's Insignia's f*ing fault as well as whoever's cheating.

@@BigTa1k Look, I'm all up for it, but there could be a million technical details in the way. I'd just like to ask about two, in particular: Do I need an authentic XBox/Mechwarrior copy to play this? And does it need good internet to play? Keep in mind, I am from Brazil, and have been a half pirate my whole life.

@@octoling6347 no to the copy stuff since the server provided copy exists (and that you can emulate the game which makes it easier to mod), but yes to the internet thing since host advantage is a thing

@BigTa1k sadly I do not know of a community but I started playing video games about 6 years ago when I was 7 and crimson skys was like the 3rd game I ever played
