Thank you Review. I'm thinking about it now. Please help me. I'm going to shoot while free diving Without the camera light I'm going to film myself and the free-diving people in a 25-meter deep tank a7c2 vs a7cr Which of these two cameras would be a good choice? It's a photo and video shoot for Instagram and youtube. I'm going to use a 1635 gm1 lens I wish you could help me with my choice🙂
Turn off the irritating background music.... Jeez I'm here to listen to your review!
I want to ask if i have lens 8 15 mm on r10 and i want to buy ikelite housing which dome port will be perfect 6 inch or 8 inch and i want to know if i get 8 dome port the shadow of the port will be in my photos if i use my lens on 10 mm?
Wow thank you so much for this video! I was so afraid to touch any part of my housing. Feeling great about it now.
unique
If money wasn't an issue which macro set up would be best for Sony a7r5
I'd recommend the Sony 90mm macro lens :) www.bluewaterphotostore.com/sony-90mm-macro-lens If you'd like to go supermacro, I'd recommend the Kraken +13 along with that: www.bluewaterphotostore.com/kraken-sports-macro-lens-krl-05s
A year has passed did you change any major setting ?
Amazing video and I love all the shots you got! Keep it up man.💯🔥
thanks a lot!
can there be a firmware update that fixes the manual white balance issues with the z8 past 40 feet?
I personally am hoping for one as I own the Z8!
No mouse/focus control point control is an issue I think. Max Flash sync is only 1/160 shutter, also a potential issue for subject seperation in some sitiuations. Looking for a smaller UW camera...not sure its worth the upgrade from full frame - full size camera like the A1 or R75. Keep in mind shooting wide angle large dome on Ikelite under 20mm about 50-60% of the image is not sharp. Only center sharp! For better side to side sharpness a wet lens is needed with 28-60mm lens.
There are definitely some limitations with the system - the main benefit is that you're able to cut out about 7 lbs of weight when traveling with this system vs a normal full frame camera. We used the autofocus tracking mode to have a versatile and flexible AF point, but it is a bit of a limitation. You can custom set autofocus point control but it is an additional button that needs to be pressed. Our favorite lens with the A7C R and A7C II has been the Canon 8-15mm fisheye with the metabones adapter. The corners are fairly sharp, but with any wide angle lens we do recommend shooting f/13 or higher for sharp corners. Ikelite may come out with a system compatible with the 28-60mm and wet lenses soon, and Nauticam currently does!
@ not sure 7lb is enough to justify the limitation. The overall weight is still significant. I found higher F stop did not help with my 14mm and large dome used with the Sony A1. It is unnoticeable I will agree when you have a diver or other subject suspended in the middle of the frame. When there are in focus details in the frame around the subject it noticeably unsharp. Just doesn’t go well with this height end camera gear. Ikelite needs a better dome ready yesterday 😌
Amazing review!
thanks!
How does it perform in terms of manual white balancing?
It works great! Sony has really upped their game when it comes to manual white balance after the A7 IV. I have some manual white balance clips from Fiji. I'd be happy to share them with you if you reach out to me at nirupam@bluewaterphotostore.com
Hi team, would this lens work with the A6700 with the 16-50mm kit lens? is it a good option for wide angle videos?
We wouldn't recommend this lens with the 16-50mm kit lens on the A6700. Instead, we would recommend the Kraken KRL-01 or the Fantasea UWL-09F: www.bluewaterphotostore.com/kraken-krl-01-wet-lens www.bluewaterphotostore.com/fantasea-uwl-09f-lens
These strobes are great but I have a very annoying problem- the fiber optic connectors falling out of the little holes. My previous strobes , inon, had screwed connectors. Any idea how to solve that problem?
It depends on what cables you have. If you're able to get thicker orings, it should fit tighter. Duck tape might be a simple but crude solution. Otherwise, I recommend the Sea & Sea brand cables as they are designed to fit in that strobe: www.bluewaterphotostore.com/sea-sea-fiber-optic-cable-med
Is it safe to remove the flash closing lever from the MDX-D600 housing, as the closing lever touches the i-Turtle Flash Trigger when closing the housing cover and it's not required any more . Thank you.
It should be ok to do so!
Thank you
I'm thinking about upgrading my 5DSR/Ikelite housing to mirrorless but have a really dumb question..... would I need to upgrade all of my lenses as well?
You don't need to upgrade all your lenses! You just need the Canon EF-EOSR adapter. Feel free to reach out to use at sales@bluewaterphotostore.com and we'll get you set up with everything you need!
Wow
hi team! im close to getting a 6700 system, and i was wondering, whats a better option. the 10-20 PZ or the kit lens paired with a wide angle wet lens. Which will provide a wider n sharper image/video? the ability to shoot both macro n wide angle is such a plus point, but does it sacrifice quality?
Hi! I think you'll actually find that the image quality is better with the wet wide angle lens and the kit lens. It should be wider and sharper than the 10-20 PZ. We just took the prototype diving with us in Fiji so if you'd like to see the full resolution images, please reach out to nirupam@bluewaterphotostore.com. There is still a few more weeks before the full system comes out - the prototype was being tested in Fiji.
cool hero?? 12???
Love this! Thank you for this video it was super helpful. If you are using this monitor to frame images for photos but the monitor shows the image as dark because the camera is set to manual and isn't compensating for the strobes until the actual picture is taken...how can you make the monitor show the image brightly to frame the shot without changing the camera settings?
It depends on the camera - I would actually recommend changing the camera settings. If its a Canon then I would turn off exposure simulation. If it's a Nikon or Sony I would turn off the setting called "live view display". If it's an olympus then I would turn on live view boost. I hope that helps!
Looks like a great option for the 6700. I'm eager to see the total kit cost when it comes out!
We're hoping fairly soon! We're working with Ikelite on getting a couple of the kinks ironed out :)
Awesome Thanks for the review 👍
of course!
Very helpful video! But if you had to choose between z8 and z6iii for underwater video and photography? I actually have the z8 and looking for a second body for topside and underwater photography. I guess z6iii works better in low light conditions. Isn't?
The Z6 III does work better in low light. If you want the resolution and 8K video, then I would choose the Nikon Z8. But if you don't need the resolution and you want better underwater white balance in your video, I would choose the Nikon Z6 III!
are you going to sell the INON 45 degree view assistant for tg7 housing?
Hi, Thanks for that review and for the great info given. You don't stop shaking the strobe all the time and I finally ended shaking my eyes too to try to sea someting. That been said, I appreciate for your time & effort to have made this video for us. Thanks a lot !
I'll try not to shake the strobe next time!
@BluewaterPhotoStore 🙏🏼
What about the overheating inside the housing if you recording 4k 60fps 10-bit? The comes faster from the land ?
We haven't been able to make the camera overheat yet in that housing, but we've been diving in cold water and have likely not been filming long enough at 4K/60p to make it happen. We'll have to do an overheating test!
What about the overheating inside the housing if you recording 4k 60fps 10-bit? The comes faster from the land ?
Good question! We didn't run into that during any of our shooting. However, I would expect the overheating time to be similar on land. It can be reduced if you have a housing with a larger camera tray like marelux that can dissipate some of the heat. But for the most part run times will be comparable
is it possible to attache an ambient light filter to the lamps? the brand sells t for it? Cheers
definitely! Reach out to us at sales@bluewaterphotostore.com and we'll get you set up with the right filters :)
Looks like a great system. Just an FYI. I found it very distracting to have the loud music playing over the presenter. Drop the music volume in half would help a ton. Thanks for the review
Of course! We'll do that on our next video :)
What is your opinion on the flash sync speed? The a7CR only offers 1/160s whereas the A7RV goes up to 1/250s.
If you are doing sunball shots or quick action shots of animals like sea lions, it's certainly nicer to be able to shoot at 1/250. For most of my photography I could get away with 1/160 and ISO 100 with my lens stopped all the way down. But there are going to be situations where it's definitely nice to have the extra half a stop. Is it worth the difference in price and size? It's kind of up to you as a photographer!
Thank you for this. I cannot wait to start shooting with this on an upcoming trip to Bonaire. You guys so rock!
Happy we could help!! Let us know how it goes :)
Wow, that is pretty neat! It was hard to hear your voice over the music, not sure if that is just my phone. But usually it doesn’t have problems with that. Great review as always, thank you. :-)
We'll keep that in mind for the next one thanks!
I dont know if you were recording video specifically to make a demo video for the light, but please take some shots where you turn the light on and off during the same video clip so we can see how much difference the light really makes.
Great idea! We'll do that for the next one :) That difference will also depend on the depth and the amount of ambient light
@@BluewaterPhotoStore Very true. Several times Im getting close to the coral and cant tell if my video light is even on...
Hello , please can you tell me the sea and sea model name for A7CR camera housing?
Unfortunately Sea & Sea doesn't make a housing for the A7C R, but Ikelite and Nauticam do: www.bluewaterphotostore.com/sony-a7cr-underwater-housing
@@BluewaterPhotoStore Thank you for your response, by comparing different housing options for Sony A7R5 which is more durable and value for money option , in your opinion.. thanks in advance :)
@@ajaxgfx feel free to reach out to us at sales@bluewaterphotostore.com and we're happy to give our opinions on the best housings!
In indonesia did yoy use a single or two?
I used both! some of the photos were taken with one and some were taken with two :)
Do I need 2 or just one will do ?
Two will give you more ability to for creative photography and control over your lighting. One will be powerful enough to light a scene but there's less you can do with it. If budget is a concern, I would recommend getting two strobes with a lower guide number than one strobe with a high guide number. I hope this helps! Feel free to reach out to us at sales@bluewaterphotostore.com if you need a recommendation
I'm looking to buy one of these but cant decide on the size based on the chart. I'm about 5'7" and 170lbs. Any tips for sizing? Thank you.
We'll need a few more details like chest, waist, and hips - but we're happy to size you! Please reach out to scuba@bluewaterphotostore.com :)
The aiming light does not work even in afternoon dives is a shame!
We often find that the red light is more visible than the white light!
will this work for a model swimming pool photoshoot?
It's a fantastic strobe for that! You should have more than enough power :)
Danke für das Video.

Amazing review, really helpfull!
thanks!
One month ago I bought the Nauticam housing instead, because the ikelite didn't have the flat port 😭😭😭. Now that I'm seeing this I wanna cry. One thing I love about the Ikelite is it's flotability, with the nauticam you must have floats on it.
Sorry about the timing but we hope you're enjoying your nauticam!
@@BluewaterPhotoStore Me and all my floats are enjoying it! :D I wonder if you're allowed to carry the nauticam housing inside a plane though, normally heavy objects aren't permitted, and it really scares me to carry it with me.
@@hinenik Sometimes I tell the airlines that my camera system is valuable if they ever object and I've always been let on with it :)
@@BluewaterPhotoStore Let's hope it works with the European airlines 😆!
Is this strobe a better beam light than Seacam 160 ? Or than Retra Pro Max ?
It's a better beam than both strobes!
Thank you for your information.
Nice review. I can confirm that the new Apollo 3's are excellent strobes.
1 strobe price is $1200? thats 2 pieces of YSd3 price lol
@@linek1234 it doesnt matter, how you stand until guide 20 and 33 strobes? and suddenly made we have 44 guide and it price is 1200 fuck that, I still good with A.8 and guide 33, and even daytime under sun light, not even use over 20 for battery discharge. Have no idea how different your macro and my macro all macro pictures are have only snoot solution not stupid $1200 44 guide strobe.
nice review! could you also do a review on the Inon UWL-95S XD lens?
it is too expensive and too bright, if you do buddy diving with this light then that day is freaking final day dive with him.
what about the 11mm f1.8 have you tried that?
we have not! It sounds like a lens we need to consider :)
I appreciate the video. I am currently deliberating between the R100 and the R10. The new autofocus system, back button focus, and dual exposure levers raise questions about whether the additional cost is justified. Would you recommend the R10 over the R100? I am not a professional photographer, but rather an enthusiast. Additionally, regarding wide-angle lenses, would the Tokina 10-17 be a superior choice compared to the new Canon RF 10-18? Thank you!
