@dariorodriguezdeamerica it's very subjective. It depends on what criteria you want to meet by changing from metal to plastic. Do you want to win contest? Jensen kimmett and gentry have proved you can do that with plastics. Do you want a more durable throw that has a wider range for aesthetics. Then plastic might be your option. I feel side by side plastics can do everything metals can do. But metals will have the longer spin times hands down. And for some people that is the deciding factor. It's very subjective and based off personal opinion. So I think for the right player yes. Plastics can replace metal giving the right criteria the player is looking for.

@@NAVARRYO Thanks man, great answer. I am more on the complementary aspect of it, winning is about the player in my opinion. I was also implying that they're not taken seriously in general for videos or competition, and that, regarless of Jensen, seems more a gimmick thing. I happen to have a hybrid, the YYE boreas, and it spins a bit longer than my bi metal, which it spins as if it had a small rotor inside. I didn't know about the durability aspect and I can see it a thing, today I dropped the boreas and nothing happened, ding it twice full on with a metal ceiling and a ceramic floor, nothing. My metals always get marked and some vibe after some bad dings. Good to know this one"s sturdy. The only down side, sort of speak, is the light feel with the plastic, is like another weight measurement, like with old speakers, "heard watts vs real watts", thay are the amd athlon of weight. But I'm getting around it. You made the only video, so far, ever on this yoyo and Dave Geigle, the guy that made it, replied my email super down about it, like he just doesn't care anymore, maybe they"re having a yoyo drought back in Germany or something. He couldn't tell me about this and the iceberg, I am leaning towards this for the V shape and the extra grams. Pity nobody tried this one for horizontal. Peace.

@caristalalala no tip for that, unfortunately. That is just my grip style. A lot of players like to hold the string with the remaining 3 fingers that are below the finger that the string is on. I just use my bottom two fingers because I feel I have more control. I only started doing it cause I saw junyi lin does it haha. So It shouldn't effect the trick but it might give you more control! You can start the trick gripping with 2 fingers instead of all 3. If this is confusing (as text tends to be) let me know and I can try and help further!
