Dear Anna: Would the pronunciation of Ancient Attic Greek diphthongs, e.g. as written in The Odyssey, be similar? I've noticed scholars of Ancient Greek pronounce the diphthongs differently to modern Greek speakers. That is even those with Greek ethnicity. For example they pronounce 'oi' as in 'boy'. Instead of the 'i' sound. I think they are wrong. Surely the pronunciation of Ancient Greek diphthongs would be the same as the modern pronunciation. What do you think?

I am used to Koine Greek. Morden Greek really seems to have really been simplified. The pronunciation is also very helpful to understand, I'm used to Erasmian Pronunciation.

You are very pleasant to listen to and I try to emulate your pronunciation as I like the way it sounds. Could you do a video on "minimal pairs"? These are words that sound very similar and a language learner may not be able to hear them at all. A famous word pair in English is "rock and lock". Japanese speakers have a very hard time hearing the difference. Thank you.
