    Here are my pros and cons of physical books and ebooks. Pros on physical books: 1). You own it, which is very important to me. 2). You can trade, or sell them. 3). The actual feel of a book. 4). The smell of old pages 5). Longevity 6). I feel you get more out of it meaning retaining information and the better ability to comprehend it. Cons of physical books: 1). Storage 2). Access can be a pain. 3). In an event of a natural disaster such as a flood, earthquake, tornado, hurricane, fire, or a mudslide, you can lose part or your entire collection. 4). Pages can be torn. 5). Cost Pros of ebooks: 1). Easier access (Much) which is a great perk for an ebook. 2). You can change the font size, which is great if you're dyslexic. 3). The ability to also have an audiobook with an additional cost, so you can listen to your book on the go. 4). It's environmentally friendly. 5). Convenience 6). Cost Cons of ebooks: 1). Digital rights 2). Eye strain 3). You don't actually own your purchased ebooks. You are only buying a license to read it, which means you are renting it long term, and if the distributor which is Amazon Kindle, Nook, or Kobo can't reach an agreement with the provider which is the author, or publisher then you may no longer have access to your purchased ebook. Once the contract runs out, or out of the blue they contact the distributor telling them they don't want their books being distributed digitally, then the distributor would have no choice but to remove all of their books digitally, even if you already bought it previously, which means you will no longer have access to that particular ebook. The only way that you can keep your ebooks permanently is if you get an external storage drive and download them there, or you convert them to a PDF file (which might be illegal), or convert it to a USB drive (which also could be illegal). Your ebooks in the future could run ads before you could continue to read, and parts of your ebook could be omitted due the fact that there are sensitive people who don't want to read content that is deemed offensive or inappropriate. You may pay less for an e-book, but in the long term you may be wasting money. 4). You can't share your ebooks, which may not apply to you, but there are e-readers who complain that they can't share their purchased ebooks to someone else. 5). There is a time limit when you e-read, and what I mean by that is that when your battery dies or is about to die you would have to charge it, which is a bummer especially when you are in the middle of reading a really good part. 6). You don't get as much out of it in terms of retaining, or the ability of comprehending it. Those are my pros and cons of physical and ebooks, and it's what you really prefer to do, so there is no right or wrong way to this, nothing is perfect, and as I finish this post I will conclude this by saying "Happy Reading."

    I loved the stats round up at the beginning of the video. I wish I was dedicated enough to track my own book stats this way. Though I do have kindle unlimited too, so maybe I could at least track how much I'm saving each month. Probably a lot since I prefer ebooks over physical books, and mostly read kindle books.

    • @caitlincarter3051
      @caitlincarter3051 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Honestly, for me, the stats come out of mostly boredom & often happen retroactively. Having a Goodreads account that I stay fairly up to date on is a huge help when I need to backtrack to figure out what happened & when. And my Goodreads is connected to my Amazon, so it tracks my Kindle reads automatically. 🙂 Reading ebooks is so smart. I've been reading so much more -- and for so much cheaper! -- since I finally gave ebooks a chance. I spent wayyyyy too long being a "physical books only" snob. I hope you have a wonderful week! ❤

    I liked this book because I couldn’t put it down it was just impossible. I was screaming at them and I don’t know just dying. I understand both of them sometimes but sometimes I don’t. Tessa wasn’t really letting him. She is first mad and then she just can’t resist. Hardin wasn’t really just using her because at the end he will be with her and marry her sooo . Hardin was diffirent. He was never bullying anyone, he was a pice of shit with gold inside. I don’t know, I will never be with someone like that because I am like a monster in the body of an angel because when I am mad I am MAD, and I can’t really stand when someone disrespects me. She obviously can, so whatever they are happy at the and, Hardin changed. They both changed. Book was good but that is kind of relationship you want to read about but you don’t want it to happen.

    I’m not forgiving the author or the characters in this book. But it’s not entirely unrealistic for a woman with poor self esteem, coming from a judgemental harsh parentage to fall for someone who treats her like crap. It’s repeating the cycle, you love what you are familiar with. It is completely unhealthy but you can’t say it’s not realistic. Also, it’s very common in abusive relationships for the abused person to keep taking the person back that hurts them. They fear rejection, and so the abuser will use that against them to control them. I think it’s disgusting that they could market this as a love story, more like a thriller! I even watched a review of the movie where someone said if you put scary music in the background of a lot of the scenes it seems like a horror because Harden looks and talks like such a psychopath. His behaviour seems pretty typical of a Narcissist and honestly I wonder if Anna Todd had a bad relationship and then just tried to play that out in a book. But instead of calling it out for what it was, she glamorized it.

    • @caitlincarter3051
      @caitlincarter3051 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The movie was WAYYYYYY better than the book. He wasn't abusive or cruel. You understood why she liked him.

    • @renaeodriscoll
      @renaeodriscoll 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@caitlincarter3051 From what I've seen of it, that just kind of whitewashed any personality from him at all. I could forgive him if he was an asshole as long as he at some point saw the errors in his ways or she grew some lady balls and walked away. That should be the message that's sent to young women. Otherwise it's just attempting to sterilize a bad story which still doesn't work. Even if he's not so bad to her, if your whole relationship is founded on a bet, then there should be some huge gesture to try to make up for that. It doesn't seem like he really did anything besides saying I love you, which in my opinion anyone can say, and not really mean. You would have to move freaking mountains to get me to look past that, also the fact that he kind of trapped her in that situation because he makes her sign the lease for the place so that she literally can't get away from him. That seems manipulative to me.

    As a fanfiction writer (on ao3 and ffnet) I honestly feel insulted that _this_ gets so much popularity. Mostly because the story is awful and with after and 50 shades fanfiction in general gets bad reputation. There have been so many well written stories about abusive relationships that actually deliver a message to the audience. I find After a completely cliche story and the only reason it got popular on Wattpad was because it was a 1D fic

    I think this is a beautiful love story because Tessa and Hardin have problems that they work out just for love. Tessa puts aside everything for him. Like in the book Hardin brings out the worst in her but she brings out the best in him. In a way he gets her really pissed off it's a new side of her because he brings out the REAL Tessa inside of her❤💓. And besides there's more books to it😉

      I just can't. Abuse is never okay. I can't read a book like this. I mean I can read a book but I can't condone a abusive relationship. I just want to ask do people who genuinely like this book thinks abusive relationships are healthy? How is their relationship beautiful? Do people think abusive relationships are okay?

    the thing that made me stop reading the book while i was a quarter in was that i will never ship a relationship born on cheating. And second of all, the 'for mentioned relationship is very messed up and just overall not healthy for either of them. Like i was getting so annoyed at this dumb little girl, leaving her amazing boyfriend alone for this emotionally damaged ,,cool,, guy, that then mentally abuses her, and then she sleeps w him? gurrll i was soooo done btw you're hilarious

    Aaaand now they're making movie. Tbh I only read the wattpad version and couldn't finish reading the rest of the series after halfway through the second story. Everything you said was so true, and the fact that some girls see them as "relationship goals" or whatever is scary. This is an abusive relationship and should be marketed as such.

    Okey I’ve got ALOT to say about this video so here we go 1. I don’t get why you don’t think a girl can be insecure if thy have big boobs and butt with a tiny waist like??? 2. She did NOT throw her whole life away. She still did very good in school and even got a payed internship, yes stuff went terribly wrong for her but she did not throw her whole life away 3. You are VERY close minded thinking that Hardins past isn’t terrible enough for him to be a broken man who treats people like shit. I dont know you so I’m not gonna assume anything but you obviously don’t know the affects a terrible childhood can cause. Plus he had EVERY RIGHT to be mad at his dad. EVERY. RIGHT. 4. You can have your own opinions about Tessa BUT you’re very judgemental. Over all Tessa is a sweet nice and caring person who fell for a man who where behind all the bad choices she made. But once’s mistakes does not define you and I think you should understand that. And I don’t know if you’ve ever been in love ( I am aware that this video is from 3 years ago) but you obviously don’t understand how love can make you lose your common sense and makes you do things you normally wouldn’t/ shouldn’t do. It maybe didn’t happen to you but people are affected by love in different ways She was very dramatic yes but that’s because she wasn’t used to some talking and treating her the way Hardin did. That’s why it affected her probably more than it otherwise would. Plus she did love him so that made his words hurt even more 5. You DEFINITELY missed the part where Hardin actually fell for Tessa as well. So no, it wasn’t about, Boy meets girl. Boy mean to girl, girl loves boy...blah blah blah all of that that you said 6. I DONT KNOW WHERE YOU READ THAT THE FACT THAT HARDIN WAS READING BOOKS MADE TESSA FEEL LIKE HE WAS DIFFERENT FROM THE REST. THAT PART WAS ACTUALLY REEEALLYY FUNNY 😹 Anna never said or tried to say that it’s unusual for people with piercings and tattoos to read, again WHERE DID YOU GET THAT FROM 😹 You have every right to dislike the books, but hey and you bought the second book so I guess After isn’t THAT bad, right 😏 Just want you to know that this is NOT a hate comment, I found this video to be very entertaining so bravo on that, and I actually would love to hear what you think about the rest of the series, if you’ve read them of course.
