    I want to know why the bridge was able to be struck by the ship. Such a critical structure continually subject to dangerous traffic should have had more substantial protection from a predictable disaster.

  • @slappyx64
    @slappyx64 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

    what they dont show in this animation, is that the ship made a sharp right turn just after it misses the protective pylon that's in the water to protect the main support. The only way it could have hit that support would be to come in at a hard angle around that protective pylon. Its turned right into that main support structure.

    Interesting post! It’s good to be skeptical, but doing the math. However, good traffic is typically about 2,000 vehicles per hour. With an average passenger density of 4 (your estimate), this is 8,000 passengers per hour or 96,000 per tunnel every 12 hours. The Vegas loop already does similar volume to subways during events. You are right there are challenges, but if they can keep lowering the costs to tunnel it will have a very interesting place in the transportation ecosystem.

    with all the cute animations, it still doesn’t explain why we see the ship running parallel with the bridge and swinging over 90° right in front of our eyes to be able to hit the bridge. No explanation for that. Their animations are kind of off just a little.
