Didn't include "le frigo" for fridge? The countdown sound is a bit abrasive. Final tone isn't necessary. Saying the word then using it in a sentence would be great!

In Spanish, Portuguese or Italian, there are some slang words or phrases expressions but what people speak on the street is the the same language that you see in the newspaper. Not so in French, where spoken informal French is a completely different animal than what you see in the newspaper.

Hi, Saji. Why not _merci _*_beaucoup_* ?
hi there😇 The expressions "merci bien" and "merci beaucoup" in French are both ways to say "thank you very much." However, there is a subtle difference in emphasis: "Merci bien" is a more formal and polite expression of gratitude. It is often used in professional or formal settings. "Merci beaucoup" is a more informal and enthusiastic way to say thank you. It is commonly used in everyday conversations with friends and family.
@@sajifrenchlearning Alors, merci bien! I'm not sure it's worth an entire video, but if you would cover the difference between _alors_ and _donc_ , je vous en serais très receonnaissant.

: J'adore ton installation !

Beware. This is indeed slang. Don't use it with everyone ^^'. Other than that, i can confirm that these are slang words that are used by every present generation. Except for the last one. "Vénère" was born with my generation and i am in my early 40's. Older folks will understand, but it's crude. Careful.
@@nox8730 tnx for your explanation 😊🙏🏽
i agree with nox8730. use "venere" with discernment
Kind of like "pissed" in American English? It's a slang term that's expressive but not necessarily polite.
@@heathg8263 "Vénère" is what we call "verlan". Here, it stands for the word "énervé". "Verlan" is verlan itself. It stands for "à l'envers". It is about pronuncing a word backwards. "E-ner-vé". Take the last two syllables, invert them, and "énervé" becomes "vénère". Same principle for "l'envers", which becomes "verlan". "Enervé" means angry, and "à l'envers" means backwards, for the record. As opposed to other slang, "verlan" is not about creating new words. It is about butchering existing french words. It originated and became a symbol of some of our big cities' suburbs in the 90's, ofentimes reputed for their roughness and criminality. Verlan was and is regularly used for crude words. Like "tepu", which is verlan for... well, a crude word to call a prostitute. Verlan was mostly used by young people, before spreading. It was sort of an identifying poster for this youth. It is more recent than other slang words in this video. And originate from a subset of the french population. It is different from calling a car "bagnole", "caisse", "tire", or "char". Verlan, more than slang words, is a way to speak. For a time, it told a lot about where you were from. Not so much anymore, but i don't hear it that often. Only a few words in verlan are in the process of becoming common slang words (like "vénère"). I am 43 now, and it becomes complicated for me to use verlan. I am getting further and further away from the place where i can use it. Maybe this will be different in another 40 years. Verlan is very different from the other words she showcased here, which have by now become part of the everyday french language, if in a lower register of the language. French has several levels of language registers. Much like japanese, if not as many. And much more than english. So, these slang words are generally used for the lower level, or at best, the second lower one. Verlan is definitely the lower one, always. More than likening verlan to things like "pissed", i would liken it to someone saying "STFU" or "FYI" to your face in the street (depending if the original word is a crude one or not), using the letters. "Pissed" in britain means "hammered", too. And this difference makes for some funny things said in the USA. Like when they say stuff like "the cop was super pissed". Rooooh. That's unprofessional.
