    A grain of millet does make a sound, and it's up to each of us to set a border point. Sensory Psychology sensibly chooses, "When half the people sense it." Most of the rest are language tricks and phenomena wherein quantity bleeds into quality. No biggie - one drink good, seventeen - yuck.

    • @ThePaintbrushParadigm
      @ThePaintbrushParadigm 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Great points! You're right-a grain of millet does make a sound, and setting that sensory threshold makes sense. And yep, a lot of these paradoxes play with language and the tricky line where quantity shifts into quality. One drink, good; seventeen, not so much! Thanks for adding that perspective!

    Unstoppable Force will win over Immovable Object if Unstoppable Force uses some smarts and simply goes around Immovable Object, since Immovable Object is, well... Immovable. This proves that Unstoppable Force deserves that title, since going around Immovable Object proves the Unstoppability of Unstoppable Force.

    The irresistible force and immovable object story is not a paradox. All forces are irresistible, and no objects are immovable. Simple mechanics: F = ma, or a = F/m. Apply a force, no matter how small, the object changes its velocity, and deforms a bit during the process.

    • @ThePaintbrushParadigm

      Hey there! You totally hit the bullseye with that physics wisdom. You forgot the Illusion of Choice You’re in a room. A line moves from left to right across a screen, constantly moving up and down as well. There is a button in the room. The button may or may not affect the line, but you have no way of telling. Is there really a choice here? Or does the button do absolutely nothing?

    • @ThePaintbrushParadigm
      @ThePaintbrushParadigm หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh, snap! You're right, the Illusion of Choice totally slipped my mind. Thanks for bringing that brain-bender into the mix! So picture this: You're chilling in a room, and there's this line zipping left to right on a screen, bobbing up and down like it's dancing to its own beat. And there, right in the middle of it all, is a button. The million-dollar question: does smashing that button actually do anything to the line's groove, or is it just there for show? Here's where it gets trippy-without any clues, you can't really tell if your button press is making the line bust a move or if it's just going on with its programmed routine. So, what's the real deal? Is pressing the button a genuine choice if we can't see the outcome, or is it just a prop in this mind game, making us think we've got some control in the dance? Mad props for pointing out this puzzler! If anyone else has thoughts, theories, or just wants to dive deeper into this rabbit hole, hit up the comments!

    5:19 Hey guys! It’s me, JDH! Today, I have an easy to follow 4-step guide on how to get free weapons! Step 1 - Encounter a salesman selling a sword and a shield, claiming neither can fail, both will prevail. Step 2 - Ask how powerful the sword is. If the salesman wants you to buy the sword, they will keep their story consistent, and respond with something along the lines of “Powerful enough to destroy anything” Step 3 - Ask how powerful the shield is. If the salesman wants you to buy the shield, they will keep their story consistent, and respond with something along the lines of “Powerful enough to deflect anything” Step 4 - Ask which is more powerful between the sword and the shield. If the salesman is to be trusted, the sword would destroy the shield, but also, the shield would deflect the sword. To avoid the question, the salesman would likely give you both for free, say “You know what? Take both, on the house. Farewell!” and run for their life. Thanks for reading this comment! Also I have a question about the tolerance paradox, by it own definition isn’t tolerance impossible, cause if your tolerance but you have to refuse the intolerance so your not tolerant

    • @ThePaintbrushParadigm
      @ThePaintbrushParadigm หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! Oh, you've really dived into the heart of the Tolerance Paradox-super insightful! It does sound like a brain teaser, right? Here’s a simpler spin on it: Imagine tolerance as the golden rule of being cool with each other. But, if someone's vibe is all about being uncool to others, to keep the peace, we might have to say, "Hey, that’s not okay here." It's not about ditching tolerance; it's more about protecting the chill, inclusive vibe for everyone. So, in a weird way, not putting up with intolerance is actually about keeping the true spirit of tolerance alive. Hope that clears it up a bit! Keep those great questions coming!

      It's a paradox. It's a loop that simply requires a decision: are you interested in pursuing tolernance, even if it means apply social pressure on intolerance? Same with discrimination. Are you interested in reducing discrimination against minority groups (and women, who are not a minority), even if it means some forms of what some people may call reverse discrimination against a dominant majority who seem incapable of or unwilling to participate in honest, open, fair, egalitarian ways? I mean, the only way to affect such people is to put checks on their behavior and balances to pursue equal outputs for equal inputs.

    It's very hard to express many of those complex ideologies in one single video, but I'd say you did a great job! (The editing was great too) That being said, I'd like to share a couple of thoughts about this: -Some of the concepts are probably banalized, but this is absolutely normal considering the simple nature of the explanations; -I feel kinda weird with calling some of the theories you mentioned "political ideologies". For example, I'm not sure capitalism falls into that definition. I mean, it definitely has many political consequences but on its own, capitalism is an economic system that is embraced by some other ideologies like liberalism. Corporatism, syndicalism and some definitions of socialism also have the same problem. This is not a big deal on its own but it leads me to my next thought; -Since many definitions could be grouped in some larger cathegories (like green politics/environmentalism, or fascism/nazism which are specific forms of authoritarianism) it could be cool to have similar ideologies grouped together, in order to make it easier to follow and, generally speaking, more schematic. I hope these consideration aren't gonna be useless. Keep up the good work!

      Hey, thanks a ton for taking the time to share your insights! Tackling such a buffet of ideologies in one go is a bit like trying to summarize the entire internet in a tweet - a tough gig for sure! 😄 And cheers for the shoutout to the editing team; they rocked it! You're spot on with your observations: -Definitely, some nuances got the short end of the stick to keep things digestible. It's a bit of a tightrope walk between detail and digestibility, but I'm all for finding that sweet spot. -You've raised a really thoughtful point about classifying capitalism and the like as "political ideologies" versus economic systems. It's kinda like calling tomato a vegetable when it's technically a fruit - context matters, and your point about the interplay between economic systems and political ideologies is well taken. -Grouping similar ideologies? That's a brilliant idea! It's like organizing a playlist by mood or genre - makes for a smoother experience. We'll definitely think on how we can categorize things more intuitively to keep the info flowing and easy to grasp. Your feedback's far from useless - it's pure gold! It’s feedback like yours that keeps the gears turning and the improvements coming. Looking forward to making the next video even better with your suggestions. Keep those thoughts coming, and thanks again for your support! 🌟
