Have you had a chance to try it out on a 3/4” proportioned set up. Using 3/4” instead of 1” hoses etc?
I haven’t. Few others have tried but don’t have the full potential since it’s restrictive and doesn’t feed the pump as well.
Did you have any issues priming the waterline I have a friend running into issues any ideas?
How’s it setup? How long is the line he’s trying to draw from? What size is the manifold and plumbing? Drawing from top or bottom?
@ he’s drawing from 1 inch PVC reduced from an IBC tote at the bottom. I would say 5 feet of PVC to 5 feet of 1 inch non-collapsible two the metering valve water in straped to the top rail of the IBC tote and then back down 5 feet into the pump.
I got all mine set up. Every thing ia great besides after runnin it for a few hours today, the plastic drain plug on bottom of pump blew out. Have you had this issue and how can i eliminate this?
I have not had this issue with mine. I’m not sure why anyone is. You can get some brass or stainless plugs that will fit it and fix those issues however. Would probably be better than the plastic plugs anyway just don’t over tighten them and thread tape them well
@@AdvancedSoftwashLLC u know why i think im having an issue because im turning the throttle up to get more distance. With first 100ft 3/4 flexzilla hose and 100ft 5/8 hose im hittin 54ft distance.
It’s maybe a $2 fix at a local hardware store for bolts
@@AdvancedSoftwashLLC the 1/2" steel plugs
It shouldn’t be the issue. The pump makes at most 85psi trapped. I think it’s defects on the threads. Nothing a steel plug can’t fix
Do you think this would work with all 1/2 inch plumbing. Then a half inch hose real and half inch soft wash hose?
Not recommended
@ do you think it would be too much pressure through the system?
@@mikeonabike1695 too much restriction not pressure
What pump?
@@joshuabeam1156 the predator 1 inch???
Hi,where did u get your stand for the proportioner block mount or did you DIY it ?
@@calvinj9614 it’s a diy
Be Careful! I was intrigued so I bought and set up the Harbor Freight system to compliment my 12 volt, 7 Gpm and my AR45. I did d a roof job using a 5% SH mix. I had one of my guys turn the pump off as I came down the ladder. A minute later as I stood next to the pump, the outlet 1/2” threaded fitting blew completely off showering us in roof wash mix. The threads on the fitting were stripped away from the internal pressure. Judging by the blackish water remaining in the pump, the centrifical pumps aluminum housing reacted with the SH. I’m putting a pressure valve on it set for 60psi and will be more aware of leaving a hot mix in the pump. Besides that, great little pump😅.
Never had this issue. Interesting.
Same issue here. 5% sh cooked the pump.
Best option to take with this Predator gas pump system is to buy two of them, and buy the two year extended warranty. That way 1. You’ll have one on hand that you can swap relatively quick when you’re on a job, minimizing downtime. 2. When one does fail (pump leak, diaphragm failure, no pressure, won’t keep running, power loss, etc.), take it back to Harbor Freight and they’ll fix or replace it. 3. Periodically run a dechlorinator through the pump to help extend its service life. Those pumps *aren’t designed* to hold up to the level of chemicals they’ll be exposed to during soft washing so the warranty will come in handy.
I have heard people saying the pump has been blowing up. Heard someone say it had something to do with hot bleach mixes and leaving your hand off the gun for a few mins at most. Have you seen this problem and do you have a solution?
I have had no issues with it. I wouldn’t be off the trigger longer than 5 minutes but I have gone 10.
Can someone explain the benefit of the downstream injector bypass on a softwash system? I'm not understanding.
Downstream injectors are meant for your pressure washer. They go downstream of the high pressure pump. They aren’t meant for a designated Softwash system. A downstream bypass allows you to bypass your downstream injector and allow more flow through your hose for surface cleaning or rinsing
@@AdvancedSoftwashLLC Thank you for replying. Sounds like I just got confused. I checked out your channel after Mike shouted you out on his cheap shot intro vid. He mentioned you were in MS which caught my ear! I'm looking to get started in the Jackson area.
@ no problem! Awesome! Yep we are in north Mississippi!
That 3/4 flexzilla hose is it (2) 100ft sections you connect together or (1) 200ft?
That is only 1 section of 100ft
I’m currently run 2 sections of 100ft
@@AdvancedSoftwashLLC ok cool. Think i can still get some decent flow with my 200ft 5/8" soft wash hose? All i got for now
About 6~7gpm and less pressure
@@AdvancedSoftwashLLC dang really u tried it???
Were those first 2 years going through your metering system? Or were you bypassing that as well as the reel?
@@jjpabst1392 I’ve always gone through the metering system
how is it runing when you're off the trigger? I would think a lot of pressure would build up and bust the seals overtime.
@@ecswashingtonllc5904 stays at 85 psi. No issues still after a year
@AdvancedSoftwashLLC thanks for the response
@ Yw!
What about the pump dead heading? Or did you come up with a bypass?
@@cdmalton1806 it does not need a bypass at this time

@@NeptuneWashPros glad you like it lol! sorry im so humble 🥲🥹
@AdvancedSoftwashLLC I just bought my predator an hour ago. So excited
@ congrats man I hope you have great success with it! It’s a very impressive bang for your buck!
@@AdvancedSoftwashLLC 🙏
Did you happen to test to see if you get much better performance bypassing the hose reel so going from 1 inch right to the 5/8 hose. I’m going to be building a new softwash system and contemplating getting a 1 inch manifold hose reel, but they are a lot more costly. Like 1200 vs 800 just for a 1” SS manifold
It didn’t change my results much, everyone might be different though
@ well honestly a slight decrease is worth the saving on the reel imho.
how hot can you get the mix ?
Depends on how much you cut back the water and spray just sh. But at 50/50 I should be at 7.5 give or take
how will the pump hold up with SH
It’s doing fine after almost 1 year
How long have you been running this system for? Still running good? I just ordered everything to get mine started
Almost a year now and it’s doing great still!
@AdvancedSoftwashLLC wow really? Dang must be a strong pump internals. Do you run neautralizer in the pumper to help and flush?
You can do this, I just flush mine out extremely well after I’m done using it each time
@@AdvancedSoftwashLLC nice, pump and all sounds the same still?
@yourqualitypressurewashing3197 yep
the 1" bleach seems smaller.
@@pressurewashingandhoodcleaning might just be camera angles, but I can assure you that it’s the same size
Thxs! Can I get them through you?
@@rmass68 yes! They will be available sometime next week!
Are those 1” metering and check valves then! Or are they 3/4” to 1” barbs.
They are 1”!
I have an older 12v Fatboy bandit setup with 1/2 inch hose and 1/2 inch proportioner. How do you think it would work with this pump. I rarely use it now but always have trouble keeping 12v's working.
It might not perform as well, it might start the pump if that’s how you feed it
So does the 5/8 hose lower the flow, but up the psi?
5/8 lowers both flow and psi
I don’t get a consistent stream of water
Check for air leaks. Are you using 1 inch plumbing?
@ yes I tightened things up getting more of a steady stream now but with about 200 feet I feel like I’m only getting about 35 feet of distance doesn’t seem to flow fully when I let it sit for a couple seconds then pull the trigger I get a lot of distance but it dies down and doesn’t stay consistent
@ what size hose? Still seems like you have an air leak. Make sure you don’t have any bubbles going into the pump
@@AdvancedSoftwashLLC 5/8 how do you fully prime the pump? I just bought it a few days ago and been messing with it but I’m trying to fully get it plumed with no leaks
@@AdvancedSoftwashLLC can you prime it with the hose and hose reel hooked up first or do you have to have it all off first to prime it
Have you tried a 3way ball valve instead of proportion valve ??
No
Wonder how it would work just a thought
Are you asking in place of a metering valve or in place of the whole proportioner system
In place of the whole proprtioner valve
System I mean
I saw you made this video about five months ago. Just checking on how the pump is holding up. Have you put a muffler on that pump or do you plan to?
It’s holding up great! And no I have not changed the muffler, I can deal with the sound
Was that just straight water? If not how were you able to just freely spray on the grass without risking killing it??
Yes it was just water.
@@AdvancedSoftwashLLC ohhh okay. Sorry, thought it was being fed the bleach as well and was like I swear I was told that was a no no lol.
@DevilsKnyte yea that’s a no no. This was water and soap mix
What happens when you take your hand off the trigger? Where is the water going?
Nothing happens. It’s a centrifugal pump
I know this is a older video but how long will it run on a tank of gas. And do you think the2inch would workbetter
Roughly 1.5 hours. The 2 inch performs worse on this setup!
@AdvancedSoftwashLLC thanks for responding i looked at the 1 inch today at harbour freight and it looked really small. But at 9gpm that's impressive
So batch mixing wouldnt be good for this setup because the water drains so fast?
@@Yaknowwut you can use it for batch mixing, but yes it would drain fairly quickly.
Great video brother. One thing that i dont understand is that since the gpm is so high even with a 50 gallon tank itd clear it in about 5 minutes. So would i have to speed spray a roof in less than 5 minutes or can i restrict the water flow to slow it down. Also, would this even be worth it with anything less than 50 gallons since itd drain it so fast? I want to find something i can use with batch mixing in a 25 gallon tank but i think this woild be way too powerful lol. Thank you for your time and i appreciate you 💪
@@Yaknowwut you can lower the throttle for less flow yes, but I would really invest in a bigger size tank than 25.
@AdvancedSoftwashLLC thank you for the quick reply. Ill just wait until I can get a bigger tank 👍
McMaster Carr. You can get hose tips and nozzles to fit the ball valve and keep the most flow. I used one of these pumps on a little homemade hydro seed rig and it was phenomenal! Now I want to duplicate your softwash setup but with all pvc fittings (manifold too) and no size restrictions. Nice work my man!
Chemical tip
It needs bigger tips us 1540 bet you get more volume
@@priddyroofcleaning7575 it would definitely get more flow from a bigger tip, as for me this is perfect for what I use it for!
How much was the blend manifold from wash depo
@@priddyroofcleaning7575 $750
Hi,i try to set up the pump but how you prime de sistem ?
Pour water into the top cap, run the system. It will pull through the lines and get the air out
How long can you be off the trigger before it starts giving issues? Is there anyway to have unloader or anything
@@connorwoods5427 no issues for up to 10 minutes so far. Putting an unloader on this system isn’t really needed since it’s a centrifugal pump. I wouldn’t recommend going over 10 minutes of course just in case!
@ thank you!
I need one I’m in Florida and been wanting a gas powered I need more flow then 12v pump
@@SoCleanSoftWashLLC if you are wanting to buy a full skid from us they will hopefully be available this week for order!

@@AdvancedSoftwashLLCis it reliable tho the gas pump
@@dylanthornsberry8778 no issues with mine. Most guys say it’s better than their 12v and won’t be going back
Why bypassing the hose reel? Most don't do it. Can you do it with the hose reel and share the results?
@@Sebanavila sure. Only reason for bypassing the hose reel in this video was that my 250ft of 5/8 hose was on the reel still. We just rigged the 3/4 on for testing. However we will be swapping our system to 3/4 hose

Get a new check valve for your bleach
This is a newbie question. You make no mention of it, but I see you have a big water tank. I guess this means you have to use a big water tank? And if so, what's the minimum size you would recommend
@@hpankie good question! So you can use a smaller tank this is just what I have on my trailer! As long as you keep your tank fed with water you will be alright. Unless there is low water pressure where you are located. In my area I can’t drain water faster than I fill it with this machine
@@AdvancedSoftwashLLC so, the idea is to keep the customer's water connected to your tank?
@ yes
Is it able to recirculate or does it not matter when you are not on the trigger?
Doesn’t matter really. Just try not to do it unnecessarily long
@ Thank you for the quick reply, I see Mike says easily 10 minutes thus far …..
@@brucetrotzuk7486 yes that’s what I’ve done with no problems. The pump doesn’t build pressure when off the gun. It’s doesn’t heat up either. Or at least hasn’t since I’ve had it. Again I just wouldn’t go unnecessarily long with it off the gun
So it has an internal bypass?
i bought a 12v bleach pump. i only used it once and it locked up on me.
Exactly the reason why I swapped to this machine. Way too many problems with 12v systems
The only thing that concerns me is that pump would empty the tank within minutes. How long can you go with that tote before it’s completely run out because of the volume of that pump? What’s your thoughts on that?
Well I’m always connected to water and I stay full so it doesn’t drain it that fast. But if you didn’t have a water source you’d be looking at 6-9gpm depending on your setup. So just do the math for whatever size tank you have
Are the threads on the machine NPT or garden hose style. I want to get 1” reducer to 3/4 for both inlets.
Npt
@ on my way right now to buy one do you think I need to get the extended warranty?
@@benderprofessionalservices9018 that’s your call!
@ I ended up buying the extended warranty might as well do you know what you’re supposed to do with the strainer? I did not see one on yours. Didn’t know if I need to use that for anything. I bought some 1 inch female to a three-quarter reducer and I’m gonna hook up my three-quarter inch hoseand see if that works good enough.
@@benderprofessionalservices9018 the strainer is not used on this application. It’s for pumping out water with debris in it. Good luck to you!
