Not sure about performance on petrol cars, but I have a racechip on my 2011 Audi A8 3.0 tdi (and had it on my VW Passat 2013 2.0tdi). It (Audi) has ~210k miles on the clock and done 60k with the racechip on. Avg consumption on motorway dropped by 0.5-1L per 100km ( I did not notice a major saving driving in city as it does not matter when you idle in traffic ). I can not judge on the actual values of BHP and Torque after installing racechip, but after I removed it for couple of times the car felt less powerful, especially when driving faster 100-120mph ( God bless Germany and autobahns ). I do have strong doubts that you get what they say on the box, but there is definitely a performance gain on diesels

Mine has been running well for 5000kms on the rs3 8y. Cannot complain. Dragy times are impressive too.

RACE CHIP is junk! Stay well and clear away from it! Yes you get increased performance but NOT smooth performance! It is not made for you car specifically! All engines are different! Very unsmooth and twitchy engine from this junk! And noone else can go into the box and fix it!

There is one big reason for leaving it stock, the price won't decrease and can even rise in the future!

i live in italy, here that RS3 woud be like 1.300€ ony in circulation taxes per year, plus another €1000 for change of ownership and about 1500 warranty, not talking about fuel at €1.90 per liter.... Absolute nightmare, that's why i bought a Diesel Kia Stinger LOL, with AVG salary in the country being €1500 per month, and i get a lot less than that!

no way the brakes was that much cheap 3 year ago. My friend changed the brakes on his audi rs3 4-5 years ago for 1600 pound plus fit.

4:32 As I understand it, the plug has no GPS capability of its own, the app gets that data from your phone. So it isn't going to update that location if your car is stolen, unless your phone is also in the car.

Have a milltek on the 8P RS3 I have owned a few months now. I love it. Think the valve is jammed open but its still perfectly acceptable! Love the car too at over 500bhp

You seem like the kind of person who should just pay someone to install it if you cannot figure out which plugs to plug into.

Audi makes the best 5 cyls

no experience of the 8V+ but I have an 8P RS3 at 516bhp and I honestly love it. 1) I don't mind the exhaust but I have full Milltek. 2) I like the slightly sleeper status. 3) I strangely have painted mirrors and handles but mine's an Audi unique colour (dark burgundy pearl) 4) Have Forzza 19" wheels on mine which are marmite but I love them. 5) Just put a Pioneer unit in mine with android auto which just works for me. :) - LOVE - 1) Love my engine with hybrid turbo. 2) Agree ref lights and the way they corner at slow speeds. Most of my front end is the same burgundy. 3) Agree DQ500 - mine's mapped to suit the engine tuning. Just works lovely. 4) Practical YES. Go to golf course and just pop seats down and lob clubs and trolley in. I have the RS3 buckets in mine. Do like them. Also heated.

Nice to see this as I've had an 8P RS3 for 4 months and so far had to spend nothing apart from rear springs as one had snapped. Paid £20k exactly but its 516bhp so already tuned to how I would want it (at a minimum) - Currently coming up to 60k miles and with the performance the running costs are not too bad.

8:13 made me laugh. You reckon you'd get less than 27mpg around town in a diesel? A lot of them average high 40s, low 50s combined. Town driving is going to be low 40s (unless it's my A5 3.0 V6 and then yeah, it might get mid 20s)

RaceChip is best for those cars where they use the same engine capacity for all models but have limited power on cheaper models. A great example is the W169 Mercedes A Class CDI. All three used a 2 litre block with varying power. Add the RaceChip to the A180 and it comes closer to an A200 An RSx is already modified to its near max potential so i wouldnt be wanting to add one to it personally

I heard Audi connect is a subscripiton, is this the same thing or some free version? they gave me this device yesterday but I dont have a myAudi account yet so its pretty limited

how many km / miles would you think this engine can take when it has been taken care of very well there is one for sale that is very cheap but has 250k km on it but it has always been Audi dealer maintained so im in a dillema one side thinks its risky to buy other side says it should be fine because its been taken care of and never missed a service would you think this is ok to buy?
