You should look at the sweater patterns from 'MJ Off the Hook' - very easy construction. I got the paid patterns but also followed the video. A twig would make a cute pumpkin stem. Love the Cookie Box. Thanks for sharing.

For the granny square shorts, as a seamstress, I would start be assembling the front then back of the shorts body. Then put in the crotch grannies. Next, put on/in the grannie premade strip on each side by sewing/crocheting/etc (hand sewing? ). Do the waist band last. Doing it in this order, you can make the front and back as big or small as needed, add crotch, etc. Size adjusting would easier this way, at least in my mind How are you going to put grannies together? Crochet? Hand sewing with yarn? Just wondering. Love the granny chickens!

Hi to make the shorts 🩳 I would use a sewing pattern for shorts for your son but cut the pattern out cut out that extra sewing seam. Hope this helps. ❤❤

You’re doing a great job with getting WIPS done with gifts in mind. Yes, I quilt and crochet with gifting in mind. My children put in for a quilted throw and a queen size quilt. I do cut corners such as not putting borders on. It makes it easier to sew with right sides together, leave an opening and turning. I do a few top seams around the outside edges and it makes a nice sewn border. Yes I pin and sew a serpentine stitch all through the quilt. Enjoy your videos Be Well

Check out the free pattern from Yarnspirations granny square shorts. I would make the front and back panels, then attach them to the granny ribbon. I think the length needs to be 1 row of squares longer.
