This arrangement, for organ and harp only, creates an unmistakable aura of beauty and serenity. I recorded this on the large Létourneau organ at the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland, and I'm joined by my great friend and colleague, Stephen Main, on harp.

This is a meditation for America in 2021

In honor of Arbor Day 2021 (April 30), and because I love trees and love this music, this video was made on the Hauptwerk organ which plays the sounds from the Laurenskerk in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Continuing the "Orgelbüchlein" series, Jonathan Dimmock plays Bach's sublime masterwork for Lent.

Orgelbüchlein Lenten setting, "O Lamm Gottes" employs two musical devices: a canon at the 5th (between the pedal and the alto), and the extensive use of the sighing motif.

This "Orgelbüchlein" chorale prelude, only a minute and a half in length, is a canon between the soprano and bass lines, with imitative counterpoint in the alto and the Cantus firmus in the tenor. J. S. Bach's quintessential musical statement about the CANON, this piece was written as a showpiece to join Mizler's Music Society in 1747 (as its 14th member). Jonathan Dimmock plays the version Bach published subsequently (1749?), which alters the order of the five variations.
