I visit a Newson clinic. Quite literally, my practitioner saved my life - and certainly my marriage. The challenges I encountered with my mental health whilst in perimenopause seemed insurmountable. The catastrophic consequences of my plummeting hormones were upon me before I even knew what was going on. (Childhood trauma 'came back' and ripped me apart.) I have also added an oestrogen cream to my regime - again, I had no idea until learning more via Dr Kelly. We have NO 'education' on this stage of our lives in the UK (Newson is butting that trend), with Davina in the UK acting as a barrier to accessing information - again stuck in symptom mode. In the UK we have a view that opposes education - that we should just 'get on with it', and its 'natural'. 100 years ago, at 51, in the UK, I would have been dead by now! How much dementia, UTI, divorce, joblessness, broken bones, addiction, suicide, heart disease, diabetes would be reduced if HRT were not considered 'taboo'? I was 'allowed' massive doses of hormones freely throughout my teens - twenties and thirties to be able to engage in childfree sex - now I want some hormones to be able to live out the rest of MY life ailment free - and there is suddenly an issue?.... My free GP turned me away as I wasn't having symptoms on her check list - namely hot sweats. My GP could not fathom that I wanted HRT in part to prevent the diseases associated with peri/menopause. Osteoporosis/Heart Disease & Dementia - my GP 'argued' with my on every single one. I am empowered to pay my practitioner for her specialist knowledge with the re-assurance I am getting the best information - specifically for me - that is available. There has been a quite ridiculous back lash to Newson on a tv 'show' - and entirely unbiased pathetic performance. But - unfortunately, we treat women poorly in the UK - and this show was merely a manifestation of that..

I had stage 1 grade 1 breast cancer and DCIS, dbl mastectomy, now the onc wants me to completely wipe out what little estrogen my 64 yo body may be making by taking an AI drug. It is inhumane. I was on topical estriol/progesterone and vaginal estriol 3x a wk. I had to quit all but the vag estriol. It was AWFUL. I have since found a hormone dr and gone back on an estradiol patch 0.035mg. I cld not tol micronized progesterone at all. Horrible IBS and gall bladder issue. I do not have a uterus, only one ovary. Had Endo. Bad. My Med Onc is not happy with me, but I am already a thin woman. I do NOT want to break a hip. I have had osteopenia since early 50s. I do cont to be fearful of BC recurrence. The muscle aches and pains are real without HRT!! I have friends on hormone blockers because of Breast Cancer and they can hardly move! I can Not do that to myself. Great video! Thanks!!

Dear Kelly, being a 57.stage menopausal, thanks to your sharings about this topic, I got introduced to vaginal estrogen creams. Here in Turkey we only have one cream available: ESTRIOL 1mg/g, that I started using 4 months ago, saving lots of things that would have been vanished from my marriage. My vagina is healthier than 7 years ago!! There is something I need to share and be enlightened about: I use it twice a week and especially on the next day the odour coming from that part is very unpleasant. This change of smell I had noticed from the very beginning of the application. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to prevent this unpleasant odour? Am I the only 1 woman who experieces this condition?

Watching from Portugal. Finding HRT at 69 in an EU country is extremely challenging. I did not give up and have finally found a doctor I can work with and trust. Yet, her field is “anti-aging medicine”…which means thousands of women in this country are not being provided for in the public system.

I’m convinced I’m in perimenopause at 40 with irregular periods, many symptoms…worst being sleep issues out of the blue when I turned 40. I’ve been given 400mg progesterone nightly, some nights it works others it doesn’t do anything!! I’ve tried adding in low dose divigel 0.25 daily but my sleep gets worse every other night instead of the every 3 nights! It’s so frustrating with no help trying to figure it all out on my own has been so sad. I’ve been to so many doctors, had so many tests and nobody is educated on this. Even the hormone doctor I found basically just gives the hormones and that’s about it. This needs to change thank you for being such inspiring women trying to change women’s health! 💕

How does having ovarian cysts (benign to my knowledge at this point) factor into HRT … patch and prometrium? My GP is feeling like it is why my cyst is growing and tempted to stop my HRT 😢

Are you taking Progesterone vaginally? You half the dose. It doesn't go through the liver. How is your diet and nutrition... So many factors to look at.

Some of this is fear mongering. I’d suggest doing some research/reading online to find out the true facts.

Dr Newson is a hero and women's rights activist facing the typical misogynistic pushback from ignorant people and some parts of the British establishment. Stop repeating the same thing. Its disingenuous.. Copy and paste... it's far more than misogyny. It's a hierarchy and a very lucrative business model.

For hair loss you should really do a urinary iodine test from Hakala labs. Most people are deficient and anytime I have iodine my eyebrows and lashes and baby hairs start growing back.

The drugs that i was put on have wrecked me. Saw the same doctor for 25 years and now he’s retiring and cut my meds to less than half of my dosage because the new doctor was not comfortable with the dosage he prescribed. This doctor was almost giddy. He got away with it. I am in trouble. This doctor is a rheumatologist.

New York is in the dark ages for medicine. One of the reasons I don't live there is the terrible medical care that is run by dinosaurs from the 1950s. I have atypical ductal hyperplasia. It's true that tamoxifen is the recommended treatment, but both the high-risk oncologist and the meno lady at my local NCI cancer center said it was totally up to me what I did- that I was in charge, I would be supported, and I could continue HRT, I could take tamoxifen, and they would support all of it. I cannot imagine that happening in New York, ever.
