Glenallen Hill and the Nightmare Spiders [BioShort]
1990’s MLB slugger Glenallen Hill is famous for blasting one of the longest home runs at Wrigley Field in the spring of 2000. However, he is also well known for one of the strangest off-the-field injuries-a fear of spiders. Take a brief look at his career, his two famous (and infamous) moments, and where he is today.
This is a first in a series of shorter films that focus more on particular events instead of an entire life story of history's quirky characters.

Bobby Moynihan needs to be Rube in the Documentary Now! episode.
Rube Waddell is everything I wish I was
That beer ball must be worth millions now.
my guess he heard Lullaby by The Cure on a radio before going to sleep
Amazing work, thanks
Greatest writer ever.
Danny Hoffman was from my hometown. Unfortunately, he is largely forgotten now.
Some fans claim Dead Ball era baseball can be compared to beer league softball today.
William Blake and Philip K .Dick would have lot to talk about.
Also as I get older, PKD is the closest thing I have to a prophet in modern times.
I see PKD I watch

How much speed was he on? Dexedrine or Phenmetrazine?
Brand New Cadillac was the B-side because he knew the BBC wouldn't play it.

Between 1-3 out of 1000 are “ allergic “ to LSD and should not take it Still much less than serious peanut allergies
I don't usually make comments on videos, exceptionally, Dick resonates with what I ponder on very well. It was my English teacher who introduced me with such, and since then, I always saw a trace of Dick's depictions and dilemmas anywhere in life. The life itself as if was orianted by Dick's view, that is why he prolly had a cult like fan-base. And it is so intriguing to experience how vivid he is able to convey emotions and senses that are not described with a definition, yet if lucky enough, one can relate to. Even I with materialist and positivist values have always though of Dick to be as not an extension but in a different set than other spiritualist/transcended authors. His work and his way of sentence structure is not organized yet it supports the ideas in a way that each sentence can bear its own feeling. I enjoy Kindred and his work as it relates to the human nature of how emotions are processed.
I met Vince once in Hounslow with his lovely mother.
They do need to make a movie about this guy .. lol .
Looks like Patrick Bateman.
Sounds interesting, the .using in the background is to distracting
Hey, I hope you’re still making videos. This is one of the best videos on the entire site. ❤
"thank you Philip" <3 <3
Excellent bio
Typical, a genius gives the world life and barely lived to see their influence
Thanks man! This was great!
Great video!
My man who kicks ass in science fiction
Motörhead doesn’t mean what you think it means 😂
Cool documentary but surely you got some of the dates well wrong as you say how he was giving in 1964 whilst in France and they hadn't seen anything like this and hardly knew but by 64 Beatlemania was happening and the stones were about then you go on to say how the Beatles took his place in Hamburg but that was 1962?
Anyone know if Taylor recorded in France around 1973 which a French Vince Taylor Fan Club released? Allegedly it was recorded in Paris with Big Jim Sullivan and Link Wray. Source: James Patrick Page Session Man website
I only first learned of Vince Taylor as it was also a song. The non LP Bside of GOLDEN EARRING " Radar Love". Being I'm American - I never heard of him until years later.
great work about one of the greatest authors to ever exist in any reality. first discovered him in 1977 and have been hunting down his books ever since. and before the interwebs, that was no mean feat. RIP, horselover!
R.I.P. P.K.D
I like the music soundtrack to this
Born on Friday the 13th. Died on April Fools Day. Seems very fitting for a person with his quirky foibles.
Bowie may have met Vince but it was Jobriath that he lifted his sound and more importantly his persona from.
It’s Andy COAKLEY, not CROAKLEY. Get serious, please.
@james SHOVEit. Seriously.
Sexy and charismatic like Elvis, and also like Elvis Presley strung out on drugs at the end. And Ziggy did not play guitar.
He’s right about Nixon my book will vindicate everything about Dicks metaphysics and is gonna take that idea to the next level
so sad ... a strange wax
"a perfectly safe sane and lovely ballad written to peel off pants in parked cars" That there is some good writing. Always shocking when I come across something on youtube that doesn't suck or isn't narrated by some f*cking robot or written for some 12 year old illiterate child with a 10 second attention span. Good work
Bobby had double bass drums way before it was really a thing.
Does he spoil the Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch or any others? I stopped watching the video just in case.
I'm really surprised that no one has made a Movie yet based on Vince Taylor
because whites in america wont sell.it's all that rap crap now. thanks to ZOGonzo

Dude this is so well done! Thank you for enlightening me about PKD.
