    Haha ya I’ve thought of getting something more basic like a flip phone. In terms of your other points, it’s tough because technology typically can be used constructively or destructively. It’s up to us and our free will to decide how we’ll use it.

    thats very interesting idk if id say its evil well it depends how you use it that's something people so a lot but its bad for you to use a lot and why just pla ywit the temptation its pretty bad if it can be so bad if u dont struggle to not use it a lot so maybe its better to just have a nokia phone with calls and texting n that's it ya yk i saw some video of jacksepticeye and he said its good to not just look down and hurt your neck with your phone just hold it straight in front of you lol instead of doing it the other way and that's some real good advice and most of the time i try to do it that seems way more healthy to do

    I have sent out a round 3000 resumes in two years and hit nothing so .i have had a handful of interviews but got ghosted on all or flipped flopping from companies. The first year of rejection was the hardest but afterwards I began practicing mindfulness and realized that this is all temporary even our lives are temporary. I also learned not to get too attached to the outcomes of things are always in his constant state of flux even our emotions although it's very hard to handle when you have responsibilities sometimes you can always just give up on things and that is totally fine as well

    Except, you are NOT a problem solver most of the time as a software developer. The business people solved the problem, and you only implement the technical solution. If anyone can prompt a computer to create a technical application of their solution, they don't need a specialized programmer.

    • @trentirvin2008
      @trentirvin2008 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A person with no technical knowledge cannot use any current AI model to produce an app. Not even close. There’s so much context involved that you can’t even give another human being enough context to see it through accurately. And these models are entirely limited to the context the user can provide it.

    • @TechIndustryAnalysis

      I'd disagree, the machines still need a high level of technical direction

      @@Miketar2424 you do understand that coming up with an idea is not solving the problem in and of itself correct? Going to a town hall in a major city trying to tackle gridlock from heavy traffic isn’t suddenly “problem solved” because somebody showed up and said “we can dig tunnels under the city and establish a subway system” you have you actually employ highly experienced engineers to actually solve the problem. I’m not trying to be insulting here either, but this is so far off the mark in regards to what problem solving even is. Businesses have the capital to FUND problem solving. That’s not the same thing as the actual task at hand of building that solution

    Completely missed the point of AI. AI is the problem solver. Maybe not for now, but soon... They are already using AI to solve problemas we couldn't dream of the solution. It is not that we should fear AI, it will be replacing us, guaranteed. It is more a matter of just seeing where this goes and trying to integrate that into society.

      @@TechIndustryAnalysis If we consider rate of development for AI is completely different than promising an unrealistic time frame to solve a problem. With AI on the other hand 2-7 years and we will most likely already have an AGI. What really smart people are mostly trying to understand is the impact it will have, how to integrate it into society (and of course how to build an AGI). AI is not a matter like if it could happen or when, it is a race to what is going to be probably the worst weapon ever created ( am I saying this only because it is far scarier than just killing someone but you could use AI to culturally and intellectually destroy a country, overthrow a government, just by conducting people in a direction, kinda like what social media already do but a whole lot smarter....)

    Hard lesson I learn the hard way this year. Applying for jobs is the only way to know how good your "job liquidity" is. Even if you don't want the job, even if you like your current job, you need to apply to know how fast you can get a new one. Luckly, I had money for this, but I forgot to test the water and study how the market was going to be in the next few years. Bad mistake.

    That judge has no clue what a monopoly even is. No one ever told him that companies make collaborative deals all the time, and if google wasn't making those deals, then Microsoft would? Someone has to be the default option. It's not that google is willingly paying to be the default. It's that google HAS to pay to be the default, or else someone else will be, and it has to offer more money than the competition is offering. This is actual competition, not "monopolism". We already do use multiple search engines, btw. It's just that most people only care about the best option on the market. I use Yandex for reverse image searching, because it's much better than google's, imo. But I use Google for most things work related because I just can't afford to have missing search results. Google is on top because of merit, not because of those deals. They do have the best search engine (except for reverse image search), alongside some other services that are also pretty good. If they didn't, then people would be using something else, even if it wasn't the default. Google might not even have enough money to compete for the default option, in that case. That said, google is also on top because some governments have actually subsidized it, and the US gov has given it tax breaks, and that sort of stuff. Those are actually anti-competitive practices by governments playing favorites, but no government ever acts to prevent any kind of anti-competitive government practices. They only act with anti-consumer antitrust cases based on complete ignorance of economics.

    Speaking from my experience and everything i have learned. It doesn't really make sense to speak about AI as if it was this thing that was released onto the world and that was it. The best analogy to this that i can think of would be, being disappointed in a baby and being like, ah this baby cant even do that much, i can do more than it. Completely detached from the fact that babies learn and are constantly growing and evolving and getting better. The same exact thing is true with AI. Exponentially more resources, money and brain power has gone into AI. And we will see the fruits of that labor in the coming few years. It just takes time between newer models. It is true that we still need breakthroughs and if we don't create any breakthroughs then we will need to keep just adding exponentially more compute and time to the training of the next generation of models. But breakthroughs are happening all the time. And similarly it is just a matter of time before the next breakthrough is made. I really hope that you can take this just as the educated opinion that it is. I debate ideas not people. You are a good speaker and this is by no means an attack on you. And i would be open to having a discussion about this topic so we can both get interesting videos and new points of view out of it! All the best and take care!

      Solid point, and not at all. I'd respect your right to insult me if it means you're able to speak freely. Regarding your feedback, I generally agree. I'm, more or less, pointing out that the hype got ahead of the reality of the technology and where it is today. Does this point mean the technology won't grow and mature into a more significant form than it is today? I'd say no.

    Something I recommend to people I mentor is to start a job search every 6 months or so and only do it for a few weeks. This is so they can see what the Market is like and can see if they are undervalued by their employers (I mainly mentor junior engineers so they often end up underpaid if they can progrss fast). A general task I think all tech people should be doing is cultivating a personal brand. This doesn't have to be producing content or going to networking events either. But, you must be seen by people to have certain skills and qualities and maintaining relationships with people that are in positions that could be helpful to you (recruiters, hiring managers, technical experts). With both of these, if you end up in a situation where you are out of work, you already have warm leads to hit up for new opportunities and potentially a way to gain traction in the hiring pool. Ultimately, having a skill is meaningless if you cannot market it or find an audience for it.

      I always recommend double-checking all your job application assets. For example, ensure you have a great resume (ATS-readable), a great portfolio, a great LinkedIn, and a great GitHub. Once those items are checked off, it becomes a game of how many applications you've sent out. 100 is solid, but it's usually not enough; I've sent over 1000 applications before to get 1 job. This was in 2021, when the market was a bit easier too. So, if it seems complicated, it's because it is, but if you're consistent at applying, I recommend doing it daily. Eventually, you'll get some fish to bite. If you need more hands-on help, feel free to join the discord in the chat.
