the prosthetic - live on kxlu (1999)
the prosthetic was a band of west LA high school kids playing post-hardcore music in the late 90s. we liked bands on dischord, gravity, three one g, KRS, touch & go, spectra sonic sound, and crank!, where a few of us had internships.
we played maybe 8-10 shows, at venues like the PCH club and the smell, and did two sets on the college radio station KXLU in 1999. this is the first of those two sets.
a song from our second set made it onto the "kxlu live volume 5" cd compilation, given away during the station's famous "fundrazor" drive. that's about it as far as our impact went. we all went off to college etc. after this; later, a few of us made more music together that doesn't sound like the prosthetic. our drummer, derek, went on to play in bands like future usses and bereft.
derek is an audio wizard and did a wonderful job cleaning up the cassette mixdown from the show.
can't remember song titles or anything like that, i'm afraid...

All the proper nouns from "Poltergeist 3". Carol Anne, Bruce, Tangina, Kane, Donna, Scott, Pat, Dr. Seaton, Dusty, Jeff and, of course, Takemitsu. 5% of the entire film is just names! Chuckles!

thank you for posting this i love it
Hi there! As someone else said a couple of months ago, is it possoble to upload this whole tape? I've been looking for it for years! Thank you!
At :50 Jackie hits a lick that would have hospitalized most mortals. 1:43 too. But then again only an immortal could have hit it like this.
All I can think of is Wes Welker staring into the abyss as Andrew Luck scrambles into the endzone.
could someone post this whole cassette plz thankyou
Sometimes, I do wish people would clean up trash more and not litter, but this is a little over the top. Make work a lot easier for some of us.
Nico has been always special to my heart. Its like my life lived lyrically. ❤
oh god I remember seeing this
One of my favorite songs by Nico!
"Electricity."
Dang this video is from February 2006 😲
I was 28 when this showed up!
This needs to be played in the state of WA
This commercial genuinely makes me want to smoke a cigarette. That’s advertising.
I see you, PilotRedSun.
Lynch didn't have to do anything special with this commercial. He just filmed New York.
"Simpoligy" Blah blah obvious Pokemane joke
Anyone commenting here about how scary it is for a PSA clearly didn't grow up in the UK during the 70s or 80s.
yep, that's David Lynch
Nobody portrays dream-logic as well as Lynch!
Sooo fucking good.
Gotta light?
Yessss......haHA!!!
What Marley LP was this on? it's not the same song as Hypocrites
It wasn't Marley, even though the label on "Golden Greats" credits the writer as "B Morley". It was actually written by Leroy Sibbles, and originally recorded by The Heptones.
The Souvenir II brought me here
souvenir part 2 brought me here - stunning.
This is honestly one of my favorite things Lynch has ever made.
just watch the third place ps2 ad then come back to us 👍☕
Maybe in another time.
😍😍
Was that Steve Harvey?
OMG this is one of the funniest damn things I've seen in months! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Has anyone called that number?
Rasputin
In the Netherlands, I think I remember "Spafe" being "Space" and "Safe"instead of "spontaneous and safe". I saw that commercial in the Tuchinsky cinema in Amsterdam for the Lord of the Rings, the return of the king.
Lol at the title of this, if it's David Lynch, expect bizarre
Simpology?? Lol
both versions of this song are great, but this one is my favorite. she still has that banana album tone in her voice.
I thought the same thing. Where can this version be found? The exile album has a different one.
I have this exact car tfffff😩
Makes this cool ad for a crappy nissan.
still love it!!
Are we sure these cigarettes are filled with tobacco and not weed?
