Wow! Absolutely amazing. SO beautiful. I'm in awe of your display. I LOVE that you not only put them up for yourself and you family to enjoy, but for the enjoyment of your neighbors. your story about your neighbor with her health problems who looked at your lights while going through her treatments. Brought a tear to my eye hearing that story. Keep posting these lighting videos. I look forward to them. Seeing houses with Christmas lights and displays reminds me of my dad putting up the old C9 lights on our house as a kid - simple lighting going around the roofline and down the sides of the house, but we always loved going outside in the cold New Jersey weather at night to look them over. Thank you for this video, every time I bring this topic up people look at me like I’m crazy. “Don’t you know that LEDs can be any color?!” Yes, I am aware, I just don’t like the way LED Christmas lights look, at least for now. Perhaps they will get better in the future.

Great video. Prepping for normal people:) I have the same generator and keep 5 gallons stored.(should have a bit more) I also bought a little hose with a pump so I can syphon gas from my vehicles should I need extra gas.

I was looking at the generacs and so on, I don't have a 12-14,000.00 dollar budget for this operation.... I found Westinghouse 28/20kw Gen for 3200 and change, + 550 for propane conversion kit, had to use it couple days back(all brand new set up) I have electric everything sadly. Even with hotwater heater and electric heat you could not hear the generator load up and slow do..... it seems like it has my whole house all set up

Forgot to mention regarding the bulb base corrosion- I was a tropical fish hobbyist for many decades and to prevent the bulb corrosion, which was common in the aquarium hobby, it was common to put a light coat of Vaseline on the incandescent bulb threads to prevent the corrosion- may be worth a try to the bulbs you dont use gaskets on.

As a tip, they sell a liquid version of electrical tape at the big box store. It comes in a little container with a brush. I used it on my lights outdoors last year where I removed light sockets & it worked out great. This way you don’t have to use electrical tape

Looks awesome! Good to see everyone helping to get it done. I got some of those spanner ridge clips this year from Yard Mastery, and they work great on the cap shingles. I too, made some custom runs as well! Thankfully, didn't run out of Tru-Tone bulbs this year. I also got some of those ground stakes, and like them. Makes for a much cleaner install.

I've used the Ryobi dual power fan during a power outage. Uses Ryobi batteries when you can't use A/C. Lasts a long time and will put out a lot more airflow vs a usb fan.

I had a neighbor who used to decorate in red and white. She moved away sadly. I used to love helping her decorate. She used incandescent Christmas lights which I started replacing some of her red incandescent Christmas bulbs with Tru-Tone jewel tone red as her incandescent transparent red bulbs failed. And replacing her burned out clear incandescent Christmas bulbs with Tru-Tone candle glow bulbs. She loved them.

It's probably already been said in the comments below but if you store gas you must place "stabilizer" in it which can be purchased at the auto parts store. Also, may want to purchase a chain to secure it to something solid so it is not stolen. Yes, if you just turn it off and store it, the gas in the system/carb will gum it up, hence running it out of gas to shut it down is the way to go. Have a fire extinguisher available just in case.
