Raking Hay
มุมมอง 15421 วันที่ผ่านมา
I have another fawn behind the house this year. Momma jumps the fencing, has her fawn, and it can't get out. I leave the gates open but it still won't leave. This is why i have to wait until July to cut.

First jobs, driveline, wipers, muffler and pipe, timing, fuel system leak, valve cover gasket, and mirrors. After that, it should be road worthy, and then a rolling project.

It looks like it has some nice green color. Except for the tractor lol
Haha, yup.
It’s weird to see something like that at your place I still remember the old 336 jd you had hope you can get you something for next season
Thanks man! Ya, big stuff. I really like the in-line balers, and i'm wondering about a round baler now. We'll see next year i hope. Thanks for still being here!
Glad they got the hay made! Sure is a sharp looking tractor they have there 😉😉although I'm curious why he has the front tires on backwards...Thanks for sharing, Rusty! Hope you have a good one!
I'll have to ask... ya, i'm wondering if i should get a round baler, but not if i need another tractor haha. Thanks, have a good weekend!
@@rustyoldmicrofarm4673 The guy I bought my All Crop from had a Case (I think) round baler that made a 4x4 bale, he said he didn't need a big tractor to handle it. I can't remember the model number though but smaller ones are out there.
@@rustyoldmicrofarm4673 round balers really don't require a lot of power to run.. you'd be surprised.
@@evanaustin2636 good morning Evan ☕☕☕ I'd say they don't do much heavy pulling with it. Backwards, they ride smoother and don't wear out as fast.
@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin That would be the case here, he has a few fields within a few miles and it's mostly hay.
You've gone big time... Lol. Been years since I've seen an old AC!! There were quite a few 100 series and 7000 series around here, but really nothing newer. The dealership closed down shortly after the 8000 series came out. Thank you Rusty!! Hope you are staying cool up there!
Thank you! Ya i have a ceiling fan, as long as it gets in the 50's at night, i can do pretty good. I love this tractor, a bit too much for me but it's great to see it run on my place lol.
Man yeah, looks great!! I have thr antique version of that rake, they are amazing!! I love the versatility of the 3 point!! Thank you my friend!!
Well yeah thats a lot handier than a pull type rake. Looks like nice stuff. Used to take forever to upload here too. Telephone company has been running new high speed lines out here in the boonies and we got hooked up a couple years ago. Super fast now.
I really like that i can just lift it with the 3 point, real handy for tight corners by the fences. Yeah, i've been thinking of trying a new modem, this one is at least 10 years old now, i've been putting it off because i don't want to go to town so i may have to order one lol. Thanks!
The ol Ford sounds good!!! Be safe out there in the heat. I hope you find a good baler that doesn’t cost a fortune. Hope you have a good one Rusty!!!
Thank you! The mornings are still in the 50's so i can still keep the house somewhat cool so far, lol.
I hate those little bastards!!! Get ‘em Rusty!!!
Nothing wrong with that rake. Bet it does a nice job of getting hay to dry down to.
Yes sir, sure beats the pitchfork haha! Thanks!
Looks like some nice hay!! Take care Rusty!!
Thanks man! You too!
Happy Independence Day Rusty!! You can come get some gophers here!!!
I want to get one of those blasters but i'm afraid i'd blow up my drain field, lol.
@@rustyoldmicrofarm4673 ya. Would be nice though 😉
That bugger. I have moles in my garden. I had to replant my sweet corn twice. they eat the seed right down the row. I don't know why they don't eat weeds
Grrrr~!
Absolutely love it!!
Thank you!
Oh wow. Yeah that's weird. I remember snow on may 1st here a few years ago but back on may 27th 1947 it snowed a lot. Like around 8 inches. Anyway your garden looks good. Flowers too whatever they are.
Thanks, yeah i don't remember mid June frost if we had it before, i'm sure we probably did. Ya, i don't know the flowers, they came with the house, lol. I forgot to show the potatoes, i tried red ones this year and they look great above ground, i hope the gophers leave me some :)
Hey Rusty! Man, it's crazy you're still getting frost! It's been really really hot here this week, mid 70's for lows and highs in the low to mid 90's. I hope that doesn't keep going all summer. I hate electrical problems, I hope the switch fixes your lights. Leaks are really annoying too. Thanks for the update, friend! Hope you have a good one!
We were 50 this morning.. 96+ this afternoon 🥵 BTW, I hate the heat! Stay cool Evan!
Thanks Evan, It's supposed to get hot this weekend and cool back off. Ya, it wasn't a hard frost, otherwise they would be dead, my temp reading was 34 that day so i thought i might be safe,,, not. I forget who made that video but he was having one of the same issues i have, and it fixed his, there's other things wrong with mine as well, lol. I should be back on the road this weekend though. Have a great weekend!
@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin That's a huge temperature swing in one day! Be safe in the heat Ed!
@@evanaustin2636 typical... Heavy dew in the morning, 40-50 up to 85-100🥵 sucks!!! Drink lots and find cool spots.
Crazy year!! Grass is about 2 or 3 weeks ahead of normal. And we aren't cutting yet.. weather is questionable, but supposed to be over 90° today 🥵 Still working on the new to us big baler.. and finding more to fix🤬 Been 38 to 42 in the mornings, until this morning..50.. Dang developments.. might be about time to look for a new place.... Take care Rusty!
Ya i've had my fill of balers that's why i didn't get another one yet, lol ! Ya, weird weather,,, I've only been growing tobacco for 10 years or so, this is a first. The hay was stunted last year here because it got too hoot too soon, go figure. Ya, i'd be a good place for a wall mart, hahaha! Thanks man, thanks for being here!
Good afternoon Rusty. Looks like you've gone big time 🤣😂
Haha, now i got that Peter Gabriel song in my head, lol, The neighbor said it was ok to film them back in early May, I love that tillage set up, he used to pull it with a Versatile, but it's since died.
That is a beautiful morning sky! It's just starting to get light here when I leave for work at 5:30, most of the year it's dark on the way to work. Where I live I'm 3/4 of a mile from an interstate, it isn't too loud but I can hear cars hitting the rumble strips all the time. When there is corn across from me I almost can't hear it. Thanks for sharing, Rusty!
One of the reasons i enjoy getting up around 3am, quietest part of the day lol. I looked at some property shortly after i bought this place and it was about 3 miles from the highway, so much quieter. The town here is growing, more cars, more trucks, more sirens. The Mennonites are building a pole barn supplier across the street where i used to farm. Realestate has gone crazy as well.
@@rustyoldmicrofarm4673 I'm close to the highway, but I hope I'm far enough away from any major cities that the sprawl doesn't get to me here. But it keeps getting closer every year
Good morning Rusty ☕☕☕ I was going to say it wasn't 5:30.. because I saw the video was up at 5.. I love the early morning, nice and peaceful! Once people start going to work, we hear all the traffic. Have a good day!!
Thanks man! Yeah, i've only been here 24 years, but there has been a ton of build up since then, all that stuff out there wasn't there when i moved in. Yup, the Jake brakes start on Monday morning. The Mennonites would love to have my place but they want me to give it to them. Who knows, maybe someone will offer me a decent price and i can go be a full fledge hermit somewhere, lol
Awesome video! You've been really busy! Glad you've been able to get out and enjoy! Man what happened to that transfer case? That thing looked pretty bad! Thanks for the video, Friend! Hope you have a good one!
The guy who owned it before snapped the rear u-joint, so not only did it take out the muffler and pipe, it also cracked the transfer case, but just the rear cover. I didn't know till i tried to put fluid in it. Now it seems the rear end seal is leaking too, lol. Thanks man, feeling so much better in my feet and ankles this year, it's so nice to get stuff done and have time left to enjoy the blessings i have! Thanks for being here!
Very cool man. Looks like you have a lot of fun. I didn't know you had a harrow like that. I thought that hotdog was a cattail at first lol.
Thank you! Haha, yeah been saving these clips up for a while now, i do have cattails here too hmmm, lol.
Jamming and cruising 👍😎
Yeah! That would have made a better title, lol thanks!
Sorry, I accidentally posted that on your comment
@@AgWildNebraska all good.. it actually happens quite often.
I hope you get some rain Rusty! That really looks dry!
We did, and pretty good too, thanks!
It is raining right now though.
Looks like it rained where you are most of the day. I was waiting for it to get here but when it did, not much really.
We had only .10 of an inch in April. The 2nd lowest on record since 2021.
Yup, here we go buddy, Another dry year.
You’d say you had to go peas
Go peas! hahaha
You're doing a rain dance, we've been dancing in the rain..lol
lol, I see that. Pretty dry here already, thanks!
Thank You. Let us expose them at every turn.
Thanks, will do!
Looks good! im ready for some seat time!
Ya! Thanks!
Your driving looks about like mine LOL! I like Timothy Fluegel's definition of GPS: Great Planting Skills. I don't have those either. Hope you have a good one, friend!
Thanks, yeah, too small for that stuff. If i really try hard to focus on something across the field, i can make a straight line, but most times they just curve along, lol
Oh wow! It looks like it's really turning over nice!
It sure did, thanks! I hope to plant Wed.
Cool sir Rusty !
Thank you sir Scott! Wasn't sure the glasses would pick up my voice over the tractor. Why i don't make videos like this because it's loud, lol
GPS 🤣😂🤣😂 ESW.. eye's see where you are 👍😎 Working up nice!!!
Yes sir, it finally dried up enough. Thanks!
I wouldn't worry too much about the oil leaks on the jeep. If there's no oil under it, there's no oil in it LOL. My uncle had an old truck that the door wouldn't latch Grandpa would use it on the farm and he just held the door shut when he drove it. A few times we put a tarp strap across the cab to hold it shut when we had longer distances to go. I hope you can get your motorcycle fixed up that stinks their customer service is so bad. Hope you have a good one, friend!
So the leak is a good thing, lol Thanks! On the door, if it's locked, it won't open, so,,, i will probably be driving it a lot without the doors anyway, lol. Yeah, there are other bikes similiar to mine so i will be looking elsewhere for parts i guess.
Thanks for the update sir rusty
Thanks brother, hope things are well way over there!
Gotta love licensing in the west coast states.. Ensley is a grade A #1 fvcking crooked sob!!! And I guarantee he won't even say thank you for buying his groceries.. Keep it all on one channel.. easier. Don't lean on the door!!
You ever seen bad News bears with Billy Bob Thornton? He has the kids all in his car and they're driving down the road and he turns the corner and the one kid rolls right out the door into the bushes... Keeps telling him hey Lupus don't lean on that door bud.... I bought a trailer one time and didn't get it licensed quick enough and they charged me interest on the sales tax that they were to collect. But I usually buy those type of things with two checks, one for the trailer and then another one for the wheels and tires that way when they say well. How much did you pay? You can say x amount and here's the canceled check to prove it.
Haha, yeah, better leave the passenger seat out of it till i fix that door! Yeah i was ready to pay the tax but not that 'fee'. I'm gonna have to wait for next payday before i buy my seed. So you had to pay interest on the tax? I've never heard of that one either, sheesh!
interest on the sales tax. Yep, here when you buy a trailer you pay sales tax at the courthouse when you license it and apparently I didn't do it quick enough and got charged interest on that sales tax.
What’s going on sir rusty? Trails of stuff
Yes sir, who really knows. But the days of a clear blue sky without these is rare here anymore.
Way too much of it!!! Used to be just vapor trails maybe a few hundred feet long, now it's usually chemtrails, as far as the eye can see 🤬
I remember them when I was a little kid 40 years ago. I used to think well that's where clouds came from because they hung around so long . So I guess I don't see what the deal is. Is it that people are just now noticing it or I don't know?. Not trying to cause a stink. Just my observation Rusty.
Thanks my friend. When i was a kid, the trails were only 3 inches long, then they would dissipate, but when the 90's came, these began cris-crossing the sky, then fading into an eggshell white when it was previously a blue sky. If you look carefully, there are still a jet or two in this video that only leave a short trail. I can tell you that in the years when there is a drought. Every time there is rain headed this way, these jets would show up a day or so before. And then, the rain just sorta went around us. Some say it's BS. I get it, but i spent years watching the sky every day, and still do. Some of my favorites is when a pilot does a 120 degree turn, almost a 180, and i think, did he forget his lunch? Still others i've seen turn off, and back on, they do this a lot in the partly cloudy days. I dunno,,, but if you've ever felt a warm day cool off after they've covered the sky, i wonder who is causing the climate to change.
Pretty crazy to see on time lapse. Thanks for sharing, Rusty!
Thank you, not many people see this. Which is crazy to me. Hope you have a great rest of the weekend!
@@rustyoldmicrofarm4673 We see the trails here, some mornings the sky looks almost like a checkerboard. Usually they run east to west here the same way the wind blows so it's hard to see the wind carry them like that. Hope you have a good rest of your weekend too friend!
I don't remember this ever coming up for a vote. And no matter who is living in the little white house, it goes on and on...
You're right.. but they have gotten a lot worse here in the last few years.. used to be Thursdays... Now it's every day and a few days ago, they actually formed one long cloud.. I've never seen that before.. especially on a day with absolutely no clouds 🤔
@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin Yup, i hear ya Ed, i've tried to make my own timelapse for these but i don't have enough battery, or memory to do anything longer than 4 hours. You really notice it when they don't. How rare a clear deep blue sky is anymore.
That's pretty cool I've never seen one like that before! I think you could power it with a Wisconsin, just have to get the gearing right for different engine speed. I almost wonder if one of those 22hp horrible freight engines would be enough to run it? Wisconsin would look better on there LOL. I hope you can get her freed up, that's a neat old machine! Hope you have a good one, Sir! Happy Easter!
Thanks! Yeah, it's stuck, it may be too far gone so for now, it's 'yard art', lol. But i think i'll try to find a manual just the same.
Well sir rusty , it’ll take some “ hay bine” McGuivering but I have total confidence that you can do it .
Well, at least it's out of the woods and in the sunshine. Watching the videos of this thing, i think my hay may be too much for it, lol. But who knows, i'm going to tinker with it for now and see if i can get it to turn over.
A wire tie. Never seen one like that. Wasn't any balers around here because i think most everyone stacked hay. Project or parts?
I had never seen one of these until i saw this, so then i went and looked it up. I saw some manuals still so i'll probably at least get one of those to start with.
Pretty cool piece of history!
Thank you! I didn't know these even existed till i saw this one.
Looks like you have a project. Looking forward to seeing it as you go! Happy Easter Rusty!
Thanks! You as well my friend! I'm not sure i can resurrect this one, but i'm keeping an eye out for a power plant just the same haha.
@@rustyoldmicrofarm4673 you'll at least make some nice yard art.. be awesome if you can get it working!
Of for sure, then i'd need a Johnny popper to pul it, lol, thanks man!@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin
I had no idea you were back making vidoes, looks like Im several years behind 😳 Just subbed back in, will get caught up!! 😁😁
Thanks man, well, you haven't missed much, haha.
@@rustyoldmicrofarm4673 😁😁
4.2L, carbureted. The 4.0L was fuel-injected and came a bit later in the 90s.
Thanks!
They must have planned on getting REALLY stuck! It definitely needs some work but it doesn't look like a rust bucket like the ones here do. I know a guy who put a lift on his truck and then found out it wouldn't fit through the garage door. Trouble is, the truck was INSIDE the garage when he found that out 🤣🤣 Take care Sir! Hope you have a good one
Hahahaha! Yeah, i could see that. I think it would make it out in my field right now, but the ruts would be a pain to fill in😁. Thank you, you too!
