Balsam is wonderful. This approach, not the best. Either side , either way up is better than this approach in my opinion.

I need to return to check out manitou ledge. If I survive. We walked cathedral Glenn trail up to bellayre and then Balsam yesterday . It was barbaric walking up the ski slopes. 10 out of 10 I wouldn’t recommend!!!!!! Keep your videos coming. They are great :)

@ bellayre climbs are never ending from the get go…taking chair lift is waaaaaaay easier

I believe so. We carpooled to another trailhead. It was about a 10 mile out and back.

@ Fox hollow to Panther to giants ledge is a fantastic walk. Lots of people at Giants Ledges and sometimes carnival like lol. But Fox hollow gets very little play

@@toddjohansen4536 some people posted on my FB. I was told the NYSP INV wrote something up on it. I did not vomit it to memory. Some of the other wrecks I had more data from my father. He had direct pilot intel on the wrecks from the 80s.

That walk I used the new Osmo pocket 4 (the little one with the built in gimble) I love the images and clarity but it’s not very robust. So for my mountain hikes I’ll likely stick to the GoPro 12. I do like this osmo, just need to play with it some more. I do like the protective case.

State parks are $10 per carload. I used my veteran ID card for free entry. The parking can be an issue there. There’s lots of lots, I parked in the lower Awosting lot. Not as many people take this route I walked, most of the crowds migrate to the waterfalls.

@@jaycreature3893 As I recall when I went up there a couple years ago …a long line to park and we didn’t wait…years ago of course no issue at all.

No severe hills. No scrambles. Basically just walking. There is one hill on the way to the lake. But that hill is a road walk.

@@jaycreature3893 Florida, but I lived, biked, hiked, camped, kayaked and spelunked in Rockland and Orange Counties until my mid 30's. We also had some property and a cabin up the southwestern slope of Mombaccus that had been in the family for half a century, so I stomped around a bit in Ulster, Sullivan & Greene Counties as well.
