Funny how a lot of people think "there used to be a time when that was enough" is about society, when it's probably about how Jim himself has deteriorated over the years. Earlier in the episode, he says that Elaine's secret admirer "probably writes better than he looks... talks... is." He knows he has loads of problems, and he knows it's because of how he's mistreated himself through years of drug abuse. That's the real tragedy of Jim: he isn't just an unlucky nice guy, he's fully aware that his own actions have made him a total burnout, but he could never get addiction off his back.

If the Republicans keep swiping Supreme Court seats and overturning landmark precedents like Roe, we might have to consider possibly considering the prospect of possibly considering perhaps maybe possibly forming an exploratory committee to look into whether we might maybe consider a discussion about the possibility of expanding the Supreme Court or not.

Funny part is - certain demographics who emigrate to America and Europe have 50's lifestyles. And they're crushing the debt and divorce and birth out of wedlock Americans...

Jim did okay with women on the show. Tony's sister, Monica. A college girlfriend who gave him his first pot brownie, the successful lawyer he went to Woodstock with who came back to find him years later. Marcia Wallace as herself. 😁 That date with an angel, who he was going to meet at seven. Am I forgetting anyone?

Man, what liberties this show took with stereotyping. And mostly one sided. I used to love the heck out of this show. Many years of seeing real politics and how the game is played makes me view this show differently. And not for the better. The bs party stuff is much more evident now when I watch the clips. Rings true today.

This show desperately tried to make the Democrats seem patriotic, and maybe back then, it made some sense. I long for the days when the Democratic party didn't exist on a different planet than America. This show harkens to an era when democrats weren't total kooks, run by a demented geezer, and The Squad. This show made Liberalism almost make sense, and that's hard to do, but it did it by living just left of center. You know, the way Democrats used to operate. Those days are long gone.

Ron Silver had incredible delivery in every performance. You can literally hear the words drip out of him. He must be exhausted after certain diatribes. RIP brother. You did good.

Funny thing is Bruno (portrayed by Ron Silver) later went to work for Arnie Vinick, the Republican candidate in the final season of TWW. And in the real world, Silver who had been a lifelong Democrat, left the party in the early 2000s over his belief that Democrats were soft on Islamic terrorism. He campaigned for George Bush in 2004. He was a great actor and we lost him far too young. Memory eternal.

Both parties are afraid to say what they believe and let people decide for themselves if they agree with that position or not. Taking a position doesn't allow you to wiggle around to try and be everything to everyone. Anything anyone does take a stand, it's always "I'm right and you're evil and stupid if you don't agree." One of my favorite political quotes is from Bill Clinton. He said Democrats and Republicans want the same things: Good jobs, strong economy, good schools, safe neighborhoods,... they just differ on how they think those things could best be achieved. It was refreshing to hear. It wasn't about your vision of America and mine being totally different - each party seeing their own vision as utopia and the opposing party's as a dystopian hellscape. When Clinton was in office and the Republicans had the majority in Congress, they actually did a lot of good working together. Neither got everything they wanted, but neither did either side flip over the table and walk out refusing to talk.
