Any idea what it means when you are getting nothing on the inductors near the power header, have my multimeter set to diode tried multiple ground points etc... 12v rails all read correctly I'm very stumped trying to figure out beep on beep off a lot of interesting stuff going on including one diode getting nothing on one end as well and almost looks like a whole bank of caps having continuity on both sides to ground still trying to wrap my head all aorund this lol but figure it might be best to start with power in on

I just replaced to 220 capacitor. This did the trick for me. Guitar is syncing again. Thanks

Great video thanks. I've got a similar Sony (SLV E850) and the playback is wonderful. Unfortunately it's temperamental when ejecting and I have to stick my finger and help the tape out. I'm thinking the mechanism must be underneath since there's no signs of gears on the side, so at some point I'll have to take the mechanism out and have a look underneath. If you've done something similar before please let me know. cheers.

I have a Sony MDS-101 the sled is not moving. I replaced the melted eject belt. I was told the original problem was disc read error.

Static electricity is more prevalent in dry not in moist climates. Unless air conditioning is used. Then could be a problem.

I have an Xbox one that shut down during gameplay and won't come back on. I ordered a power supply brick for it from Amazon. The light stays orange with a short flicker to yellow or green when I power on the Xbox but it immediately shuts back off and the light returns to orange. I have tried all the usual reset brick stuff as well. The Xbox will simply make the power on noise but won't come on. Did I get a faulty power supply from Amazon or is there something wrong in the mother board. I have also taken it apart and blew out all of the dust. I am somewhat savvy with electronics. I have some experience in soldiering and replacing components on circuit boards as well as computer experience and usually can fix anything myself. But I haven't been messing with Xbox since the 360 series and you seem to be experienced with them. I would love to hear your opinion on what you would suspect first and what steps to take in testing it? Thanks in advance. Hope to hear back soon!

I've got the same problem with a sony vcr unfortunately I can't test the power cable since it fits inside the vcr via a clip rather than the bog standard one you have on yours. I can't hear anything when I switch it on so hopefully it's the power cable once I find a replacement to fit internally. Update : Not power supply. Managed to get my casing off but doesn't appear to be any seepage and my meter doesn't read capacitance - off to the local electrical shop and see if they can check it and I'll buy some flux etc..

Just got this exact model on freecycle with the same error code. Going to use this video as a guide! I’ve never changed capacitors before so fingers crossed! The deck came from a smoker’s house so it’s covered in tobacco stains 😢

Samsung 4k and QLED are notorious for screens failing Edge lit Samsungs are bad for cracking the first diffuser sheet it’s due to the heat of the backlight LEDs The diffuser is designed for one way only, pack out the dodgy tab bond with cardboard or a piece of rubber it will work ok 😊

Hi. I have a Xbox on my bench with the exact behaviour. It plays on tone with light, hard drive spins, No fan and after some sec it plays the off tone and is off. And at the beginning it often plays the tone without light and after 3-4 times the light came up. It’s exactly as in the video. Does someone knows what is wrong here?

Hi - I have the same mixer and last Saterday hi is blown up - smoke and dead. I found out that the SMD R59 and R59 looking black but I messured 21MOhm - ist this thrue? Beside that, one part is blown out and the leads are broken and the index is missing ;-/ now I don't no whitch part it is - on your video time 29:48 place right of your fingertip and down from R59/R58/R67/R68 what this is? I have a Sharp MD-MS701 that works very well, but its case is badly worn. So I got a second player of the same type which is looking brand new. But with some discs it shows a UTOC Error. I tried several discs, TDK and Sony are working fine, but Maxell and BASF cannot be read. My old player is able to play all of the discs, so they are ok. So what could be the problem? If I had the same issue with this gear I think it should happen with all sort of discs and not only with a few. Any idea? (I did clean the lens with alcohol)

Used to have loads of issues on old md Walkmans where the sleds got knocked along the rack so it didn’t home properly and winding it back across (or pushing it) worked a treat

Nice video. I own one piece of this A-85 amp and the right main channel has something around 30% less power compared to the left channel. I serviced my unit by myself but I don't have a clue from where to start checking. I know that this unbalanced power out from left to right comes from the preout of the unit, that means the equalizer already receive this issue. If you have any clue, please, let me know.
