Key banks are very useful. I use mine all the time and not just when I go surfing. When I go skateboarding, I don't want my keys in my pocket or even when we go out for the day, my girlfriend can come back to the van at any point without having to find me first.
My old lock (another brand) corroded and even after soaking it in WD40, was scared to lock my keys in it for fear of not being able to open it again. I have no used my lock for three years and other than the dirt and sand, the quality is as new.
