    • @FrodeBergetonNilsen
      @FrodeBergetonNilsen 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Factorian_DesignsThat makes no sense. If you want to apply something by layer, use the correct way to do so. Modifiers do not work for me, since whenever I use them for anything but layers, the outer boundary of the modification generates weaknesses in the print. For instance, using a modifier to increase infill, will produce a line of no-crossing around the boundary of the modifier object. Also, if you use line height, it somewhat easy to transfer the modifications to another model, by replacing the stl. But if you use modifiers instead of line height, that makes no sense to me.

    • @Factorian_Designs
      @Factorian_Designs วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@FrodeBergetonNilsen If you want to print multiple of the same model, modifiers are copied together with the model. Otherwise I don't see why you would want to do that, as every model has to be optimized differently.

    I’ve tried your methods and they are a game changer, especially the modifiers enable it to use infills only where needed. However, I struggle a little bit with closed round Objekts, the top doesn’t seem to have enough layers despite a ball shaped modifier I put on top, so unfortunately I got some holes in the round top shell…. And when I change the line width of the top modifier I get an extra seam in the shape of the modifier on the top. Maybe hard to explain but I kinda don’t understand it yet. I keep trying. Otherwise the wall quality is insane and the time and filament savings are significant!

    • @waldyeti3744
      @waldyeti3744 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think I found the solution. When using heavily sloped objects like closed-top round objects, diabling “ensure vertical shell thickness” causes to only produce a very thin layer on the top that has holes. I activated the “moderate” setting in the top modifier and the problem seems to be fixed now!!

    Woah. There is so much to think about here. I would love to see some more optimizations on supports and surface finishes. I have a small volume print (15g) in PPA-CF. I can't really optimize for reduced plastic since it requires 100% infil, but I'd love to make the surface under the support material cleaner. Wondering if I can use Modifier shapes for that?

    There is something I am not sure to understand... What is the difference between setting directly for the object 3 bottom and 3 top layers, compared to having a modifier at the top and a modifier at the bottom which sets the layers to 3 ? I must have missed something, it feels like it would give the same result for your model

    • @Factorian_Designs
      @Factorian_Designs 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If you do that, Bambu will add material in areas where we don't need it like shown with the "ensure vertical shell thickness". The only way to prevent that is by setting the top and bottom layers to 1.

      I often times use a custom "fast start" gcode sequence. Very easy to integrate and due to the fast heatup time is very short. No resonance frequency test, no leveling, no lidar test, only one small purge line and homeing sequence just like with every other printer. A quick google search should give you the template for that.
