@@thorobredcars1975 hey i found the problem after you change the valve cover gasket you have to change thee little 4 O rings on the inside of the valve cover mine were so dried out i changed them and the issue seems to have gone away

Flashing Odometer means something is not programmed. Look for anomalies, Aftermarket radio ? Fiats do not like non genuine parts fitted. Ask for a Proxy Alignment to be carried out.

Hello , I would say if it’s similar symptoms & the same codes then quite possibly will be the same problem. Maybe send this video to your mechanic? Or perhaps double check the locking caps are correct. The 2.5 v6 locks are slightly different to the 3.2 v6 although they look similar for example 🤷🏻‍♂️ Good luck . Keep us updated ✔️

Well I ended up deciding to buy proper cam locks. I ordered a set from Alfaworskhop site. They are pricey but should be worth it. As well as a few other stuff I need for the job. Gonna see when my friend is free. He has a garage and a tdc gauge and torque rachet. Cam lock are silver like yours. They have A1,2,3,4 written on them. But its not hard to figure out where to put them. I was also digging up some forums and found a method of also looking at lines on the back of the camshafts. They should be aligned with the head. Thats mostly it so far now I have to wait for the locks.

And his exhaust cam was out of timing on the right head. Pretty much similar issues. But yet my mechanic would deny the timing is wrong. Maybe he just doesn't know he used the cheap locks. Ah but fine Im gonna have to get it done.

@@Che-i5n I have ordered from Alfaworskhop site. You also have it on ItaliaRicambi site I think. Be prepared to pay its around 100 to 130 euros. So its not cheap.

Yes so this car had been sitting abandoned for years, It did start & run although you wouldn’t want to drive it . We have the heads at a company called “Classic & Modern Engine Services” they’re welding & overhauling for us.

You can leave the ECU Connect . There is four 10m nuts holding the bracket on . Remove the nuts & slide the mount/ bracket away from engine .

@@thorobredcars1975 Thanks very much. This job is kicking my arse. One last question. The tensioner came loose when started and the cam isn’t in time with crank anymore so having to time the cam. Does the locking tool only fit in when it’s at tdc or isn’t more complicated than that?

Not especially, obviously it’s a messy job if you don’t use a brake fluid extraction kit (pipe & bottle) We pressure bleed , but gravity bleed will work . Make sure you have enough dot4 fluid .

Yes you’re right. we always recommend replacing as a kit and do so in Five year intervals. The good news is it engines are non-interference so can survive a failure but it’s always good practice to keep on top of it .

I think “book time” is 2.5 hours . We generally say 3 hours is needed if you are taking time to clean surfaces & making other components better along the way .

@@thorobredcars1975 If it's just the head gasket I want to change, is it the same process? Can the engine mount and top cam cover just come off or does the whole cambelt need access with the wheel off? Gaz.

@@thorobredcars1975 the 1.2 without VVT are non-interference and 1.2 with VVT are interference I'm led to believe. 69bhp are interference. How much do you charge for the job on a 2014 500 1.2? and what's your postcode, thanks?

We agree that it is a bad idea. After a little search around we found quite a few other people were also pointing out the problem, so it seems to be a big design flaw.
