Great, you made it easy. Thank you very much for sharing!

Do you have any problems with Windows/System from upgrading SSD up until now? I'm planning to upgrade from 256 GB to 1 TB. Do you have any other recommendations other than corsair?
@@rioadi3575 nope, very happy with the upgrade and not a single crash since the late August recording of this video. I haven't tried other brands and thus can't recommend any.
@@ChezDoesStuff thank you brother

I’ve just bought this watch and I absolutely love it. Looks great on the wrist and I’ve had lots of comments about it. Most have been very shocked about the price as they thought it looks a lot more expensive. I’ve been happy to tell them the Furlan Marri story.
Hello! Could someone help with one issue? I found info in source that T480 can support touchpad of x1, so i bought in AliExpress. I successfully replaced. Actually touchpad works on Linux, but there is issue with Windows. I tried to install driver of X1 and T480, but it doesn't work. Most of fun, when i delete drive of touchpad, it works. Maybe someone faced this issue? Thanks!
What makes "SK Hynix" Modules special? It would be nice to explain such things when pointing out specific characteristics... I've been searching for answers for an hour now and I can't find anything. Gonna wake up late for school now xD
@@gerusher6682 nothing specific, SK Hynix is generally just a reputable chip maker.
@@ChezDoesStuff I read that crucial (micron?) is at least just as good, if not better than SK Hynix. Is this true? By watching your videos I'm spending more than what I paid for my T480 and it hasn't even arrived yet 😭
@@gerusher6682 I don't have any experience with that product, but Micron is pretty established.
@@ChezDoesStuff I now have my T480 which I paid 200€ for with 0 scratches, 8GB of RAM, i5 8350, Fingerprint reader, IR camera, backlit keybard and touchscreen. And with your videos I have replaced my RAM (2x 16GB 3200MHz Crucial (Apparently Micron itself sells RAM under the name "Crucial")), Battery, Keyboard and once they arrive, SSD, WiFi 6E, glass trackpad and double heatpipe with repasting, of course... I have also installed a Fibicom WWAN module and two antennas all the way over the screen and it truly was a pain but I did it :D I wonder, since this T480 came with a SSD caddy, what can I put in here? I don't see SATA or anything, and there's just an nvme m.2 ssd in there... is there a specific SSD compatible with the cables that are already inside, or some sort of adapter that makes it possible to add two SSDs?
Thank you!
Great review tnx
You just convinced me! Thank you!
Hi, what kind of external battery are you using? can you tell me?
I use the JIazijia branded one from Amazon, but looks like it's no longer available for purchase...
@@ChezDoesStuff okay bro, thanks for u information
Man, why is everyone gate keeping where to buy the cooler itself? Which seller on aliexpress is good? Is it off ebay instead? Pls someone help.
Does t580 comes with wwan slot screw ?
@@2DAnimax if memory serves me right, yes.
On the black dial for local time, the hands have lume - but do any of the indices have lume? My guess is at least the 3, 6, 8, 12 are lumed numerals. Are there any other lumed markers on the black dial?
3, 6, 9, 12 are correct, plus the 2 subdial hands that don't really do much.
Thanks so much for letting me know. This information is not available anywhere else on the web. How is the legibility in the dark? Are you able to tell the time at all, considering the minimal lume?
@@doukhobar you're welcome. You can tell the time easily in the dark, but the lume doesn't last that long - probably 20 minutes, tops.

Thank you for this extremely helpful video. I'm typing this on my newly-installed T480 keyboard!

anyone recommend me store to buy 2400MHz DDR4 16GB RAM from Aliexpress?
Excellent, thanks. What size/type screws are they, philips? #1, 0?
why not use universal mount?

That won't work on the WWAN slot, as it is a PCIe 3x4 drive. You need a 3x2 like this: amzn.to/3ZiXl9R SATA drives with the same 2 slots won't work, either.
@@ChezDoesStuff Thanks 😊

Some commenters mentioned disabling vPro via BIOS, but I personally do not know how to do it. Sorry!
Fantastic graphics!

Hi @chez - Can you post where you purchased the Innolux Panel? Seems a lot of fake ones out on Aliexpress and eBay. Nice video and thank you!
Bro! My laptop's Bluetooth range have been very low, and many sound problems are facing like voice cutting, stuttering, buffering. Should I replace Bluetooth Adapter like you ? Otherwise I should use USB Bluetooth Adapter (Dongle)
I feel like a new card is better than a separate USB dongle, power-draw and port availability -wise. But that's just me
can you change the cpu?
Not without changing the whole board, unfortunately.
Approved, good job.
after replacing the wifi card how did you have power? the internal battery was turned off?
The internal battery automatically reconnected once you plug an external power source.
If i was only able to upgrade my gaminglaptop to quadruple fan
PSA: If your screen doesn't work to turn off internal battery, disconnect it manually. I blew out my backlight fuse this way, now I need a board repair
Muchas gracias 🫡👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Why do you say "welcome back to the channel"? Many many people discover your videos for the first time via search.
Stumbled on this video due to the algorithm gods, this is great. Concise and informative. Always thought the SSD's on the surfaces were soldered like the macs. Guess not.
Very good video. I’m getting a T480 and will have this upgrade done Right away😊
What is the retail prize?
Nice! -- QUESTION -- I ordered a used T480 with the FHD/1080P screen. However, the sent the one with a "touch" screen which is a feature I would never use. It is also FHD/1080p. My question is, I can return it and get the one without "touch". Do they both view the same or is the Touch screen worse quality or a battery hog? Please help. I must decide quickly and I think they intentionally stuck me with this screen.
@@Coleen-Love the touch screen will use more battery, for sure. I'd stick with the non-touch if possible.
Yours don't have Geforce Mx150 card
Correct. We avoided the MX150 on the T480 in the interest of battery life since it didn't really do much on our T580.
@@ChezDoesStuff you need to configure it correctly. But if your happy with intel thats fine.
Sorry dude, does the internal battery use 3 cells or 6 cells? 🙏
3 cells, if I remember correctly.

is it possible to replace non-backlit keyboard with backlit one? (T580 keyboard without backlit sign)
Yes, my T580 started with a non-backlit keyboard. Everything's plug and play.
my t480 after a lonnng period, off.. both batteries dosent show to charge at all.. i tried uninstalling the drivers, holding the back button for 30 seconds, but nothing.. any ideas ?
Did you charge them in the time off?
@@Sinivaal actually not, they are off like almost a year, I think they are probably dead.. I’m gonna have to buy new ones
Ordered 64gigs before my t480 came assuming it'd come with two 8gig sticks. First thing I did when I got it was put my ssd in and tossed the ram in after booting to bios once before to make sure it worked. All 64 gigs were recognised right away in bios and had no issues in windows. I have a vPro model as indicated by the sticker and my ethernet controller being the LM variant. Don't remember if I touched anything in bios to disable vPro but very happy with it, although if I had waited to order ram till I got the unit I probably would have went with 32gigs because it came with a single 16gig stick oddly enough. I do have the i7-8650u non dgpu model not 100% thats relevant but remember seeing something on reddit about lower end models not being able to use 64gigs. Exact kit I used was the Teamgroup "TED432G3200C22-SBK". They get downclocked to 2400mt/s automatically and just worked. I did learn something interesting about sodimm ram that I didn't expect and it was that they have slightly different widths. The original ram didn't fit into the new rams packaging and after comparing them the old one was sightly wider.
