Making a wooden sign
มุมมอง 41ปีที่แล้ว
The hardest part of the elaborate, decorative wooden signs is the symmetrical shape. The way that we create the symmetry is by using a form that we can move across the wooden blank. I will show you how. If you don't have a router, you can trace the shape onto the wood with a pencil and then cut it with a jigsaw or coping saw and then sand it down to shape.

How to finish baseboard when the edge doesn't butt up to anything
มุมมอง 1.3Kปีที่แล้ว
Most of the time, baseboard ends in a corner or against another object like a cabinet. Sometimes, the molding ends out in the open. I show you how to finish the baseboard so that it looks attractive, even when it ends in the open.
Hack for applying oil to dry butcher block
มุมมอง 667ปีที่แล้ว
If you are consistent with your reapplication and if you are applying oil to small objects then this may not help. But if you have butcher block counter tops and they have been neglected, you might find this method of applying the mineral oil helpful. Make sure that you are using mineral oil that is intended to come in contact with food so that you know it is safe for you and your family.
A short video of putting down a faux stone epoxy countertop
มุมมอง 91ปีที่แล้ว
It is surprisingly easy to get a good looking countertop. I tried two different methods. First one is often called an exotic pour or dirty pour to look more like granite and the second is adding streaks or veins like marble. How to ensure you have a flat surface
มุมมอง 36ปีที่แล้ว
This is a common problem in drywall installation or wall repair. You have filled the hole and sanded the joint compound, but is it really flat or will you see blemishes when you paint it? The solution is to make the surface one uniform color so that you can see the shadows from the raised edges.
How to find a stud (in your wall)

I have a Kitchenaid, 5 burner, gas cook top. The two burners on the left will light, but shut off as soon as you try to adjust the flame. The other burners all work fine. Is this a common problem? What's the fix?
if you want a perfect circle use a router same metho..
Thank you SO MUCH for posting this video! Just subscribed to your channel. I am coping with a somewhat similar situation with 3 existing pendant light fixtures above my kitchen counter island. They are 31 years old, and the sockets and the wiring have gradually reached a point where there has been a compromise in safety. Christmas is in a few days, I'm kind of working in the dark, and I don't exactly have the money to purchase 3 new fixtures, nor do I want to... I love the ones I have! I'll be showing this video to a loved one who is more skilled with electrical work than I am, do determine if this process is a viable option for my situation. Hopefully that's the case! I really enjoyed this video- it was easy for me to understand, despite my current lack of experience. You were to the point and on track, but still very thorough and included all of the relevant step by step instructions and details. Thanks again for posting this, and I wish you and your loves ones a merry Christmas, happy holidays, and a happy new year! Fawn 😊
Thank you. Great idea. My butcher block for my island is coming tomorrow. I don't have a squeegee, but I can use a piece of a plastic flexible cutting board to do the same thing.
Great video I agree with you many things can be repaired I'm teaching my neighbors not to throw away lets fix it :)
👍
Thank you! You have made me brave enough to troubleshoot my loose pole problem in my lazy Susan cabinet! It's been a few years I just close the door and hope it doesn't collapse someday. Looks like today is the day I empty it and fix it. Thanks again 💪👍
I have a flange on a basement toilet that sits about 1/4 above finished tile. I tried a new toilet and it does not sit on floor. The tile variations along with a high flange resulted in a gap of as much as 3/8". it seems to me also the little supports that are on the bottom of the toilet are 1/16" lower then the edge of the toilet. So already the toilet would have a gap of 1/16" IF the top of the flange was even with the tile.
I actually got a more decorative pattern and hand painted each one with a brush prior to installing. There was no brush strokes. The tip is to not overload your brush and use light strokes
Nice work. Thanks for the video.
Hey Man. Thanks so much ❤
Electrobe change
You are making it to hard. The toilet flange sits on top of the finished floor. You put your wax ring on the flange and set the toilet. You're done.
Helpful when the flange actually sits on top of the finished floor. Remodels will often create variations.
I live in FL and am about to repair some drywall in one area of the house from some storm damage. I'm considering repairing the drywall and then instead of going through the pain of trying to paint match (old popcorn ceiling), just doing ceiling tiles like these. My concern is that if/when we get another hurricane and the drywall gets water damage, these ceiling tiles will conceal the damage and I will not be aware that I need to do a repair. Do you have any experience with identifying water damage behind these types of tiles, or if water damage will be noticeable?
Your concern is reasonable. I don't think you would be able to notice water damage with these tiles is place and it would be difficult to test for damage as well. Unless you have a way to view the ceiling from above, I would probably skip the tiles.
where s the link
it is in the description
That transition looks awful
Excellent video, can you please share the ebay link. I have the same stove model. Thank you
The exact link is gone, the seller must have pulled it, but this looks like a similar item, www.ebay.com/itm/375346146447?
Thank you! I used the safety pin method and it worked like a charm. 😄
Now this is a video!!!!
One suggestion is to take a picture before you disassemble the items.
if I can ask a question, just moved to a home where there is a ceiling paint peeling, i want to instead of repainting it do this ceiling install, want to check if its okay to sand down where the peeling is happening and then glue this on top of it. There is some moisture or humidity where we live in Hartford, Ct
The best method is to have a completely clean surface. Barring that, scrap away any peeling paint and apply a heavy-duty primer like Killz. Be sure not to skimp on the the adhesive caulk. If I were you, I would apply more liberally than I did in the video so that if one spot fails, there is plenty of spots still adhering. You don't need to cover the tile, but place more dots of adhesive around the tile. Good luck.
What name stove arr you working on ?
Thank you
Good job. I appreciate you leaving the mistake in . 😊
Cleaning the channels and the secret hole above the igniter did the trick for my stove. Thank you so much for your video!
❤ the "secret hole." Glad it helped.
Why won’t anybody take off the piece after they take off the cap? As if it’s not just laying on there too?
Hate that we live in such a disposable society. I believe EVERY product we purchase should include ALL the info pertaining to it, i.e. schematics, part numbers, etc., so that I, if I so choose, will be able to troubleshoot and fix it without having to go through so much BS, wasted time and $$$ that it just becomes easier to chunk it and buy a new one. If it’s already broken why not try to DIY and have the experience to learn something new. Thanks for your videos, brother
Well said, I couldn't agree more.
not clear why you can't try cleaning the igniter before you replace it.
Definitely try this, but a quick examination will often show this is futile. Propane and natural gas burn cleanly and leave no discernible residue to foul the igniter and because the igniter is recessed, it is rarely soiled by food.
Looking at both ignitors he holds up. The new one has a little pin at the top which has worn off the part that doesn't work
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that the burner screws and the screws underneath were different sizes.. There is ABSOLUTELY no reason for that other than some product designer was STUPID!!! haha
Or intentional. I've had to replace some of those bolts and they were very unique and, though small, very expensive.
@@Eclectic8 the keep it simple stupid principle has been ignored since the beginning of human history
I'm not a fan of engineers.... At all. Working as a sparky, working on vehicles, just repairing stuff. These people need to be forced to do 6 months working on whatever it is they intend to be designing. Frig.
@@RickL_was_here haha.. that would be a fitting punishment!!
❤❤❤Good morning from Gardening with kirk
This is exactly the video I needed to watch. Now I just need to see if I can locate the parts I need to replace! 😊
Sometimes it is not the igniter. Best thing to do when troubleshooting is swap out all the parts one by one to identify the root cause. In the case of a range, you have the igniter, which is a pain to swap, the base that channels the gas, and the plate that covers the base. These last two are easy to swap with any other burner that is the same size. In a recent case, I found that my igniter and plate were fine, but the base was either worn down or warped, and therefore not channeling gas the right way. Replacing the igniter would have been a huge waste of time and money!
Thank you
I just swapped out an igniter for a client on his Fisher Paykel that the cleaning lady broke. This happened a long time ago so the thing wasn't used. Everything was fairly greasy so there was some cleaning involved. Anyway, the thing wouldn't light even though I could clearly see the spark and could smell the gas. I used a bbq lighter to test for gas dispersal and everything looked fine.... There was a gasket that separated the burner base from the entire top cover and it was badly damaged so I have him getting one of those in case it's a leak causing the issue and will try again. If I remember, I'll come back to share the result and/or possibly a solution.
I did exactly what you said and I am very thankful for your advice. The burners work perfectly! Again thank you.
You're welcome!
The flange should be high enough so the horn on the bottom of the toilet can fit INSIDE the flange. Otherwise you're relying on the wax to seal the water and its really only to seal gases. Remember horn INSIDE of flange. Not even, not close, not above, INSIDE. Make it so with wouldn't leak even if you didn't have a wax ring.
Totally skipped the part where you show how to remove the igniter from the frame..
The one I just did had a little metal 'A' shaped piece that I had to squeeze the two sides together and pull it out, releasing the ignitor.
hi, I have the same stove model but could not find the igniter part number on the part list. Can you please send me the ebay store address which you bought the igniter. Thanks.
The item listing on ebay is gone, but this was the title of the listing - Frigidaire Range Ignitor P# 316536602 316536614 316536610 316536600 316536622
The company does not sell just the ignitor, as he mentioned in the video. They sell only the whole burner unit for about $100.00. That's why he bought the ignitors from ebay
What about a ground?

Why Styrofoam versus plastic?
I did not choose one over the other, this styrofoam is what I found with a design that I liked. I would imagine that the plastic would be more difficult to cut, but might be more sturdy. All the plastic that I have seen is for suspended ceilings, but it is possible that there is a plastic tile that glues onto drywall.
@@HomeImproveman thanks. There is glue up plastic tiles, just wondered if you had experience with both and chose Styrofoam, guess not. Thanks
thanks!
If the igniter is sparking why would you replace it?
just like a spark plug in a car, the distance between the electrodes increase over time and usage. Spark may still be there, but it is weaker because of the increased distance. Clearly, the choice to replace them was the correct choice because it solved the problem.
You Da Man! Struggling for the longest time with two of my burners and never knew about the little hole. Fixed it right up. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you for this excellent video. Your oven range design is nearly identical to mine. I am glad you showed that the burners have to be removed to raise the top by removing the two screws in the base of the burner. My front left burner that is used mostly will not ignite the gas unless another burner is sparking. Unfortunately, the head of 1 of the 2 screws in that burner had sheared off, making it impossible for me to remove, especially because the top of the shaft is below the surface. If you have any suggestion on how to remove the headless screw it would be soooo much appreciated. The anealed/hardened shaft of these screws is so small that it's very hard to drill into it. Your help in how to remove this headless screw shaft will be very much appreciated. Thank you
That's a tough situation to find yourself in. Unfortunately, appliance repair is not my specialty. Good luck.
Google that problem, many have had the same, and a solution must have been found
I agree 100% with your view of becoming a rely on someone else society. I am the eldest son of a do it yourselfer and was the mandatory gofer/ helper whenever there was a project to be done. I am very grateful as the lessons I learned early on have only helped me along in my life. It has made me who I am today. I appreciate the video as I was curious what was involved with the igniter replacement. I did a quick google part search before finding this video and saw the assembly you refer to in the video which got me wondering why I would need all of those parts to replace an igniter. Again thank you for the valuable information.
It's nice to know that these videos are appreciated. Thank you for your comment.
Very helpful, thanks!!
Safety pin in the gas hole fixed it for me. Thanks!
Where did you find the mount?

If I have propane gas, can I just turn off the tank out side?
That will work, just be sure to turn on one of the heating elements to give the gas that is stuck in the line an opportunity to escape. Hold a flame up to the heating element to ensure that the gas is completely off. You should also have a valve behind the stove that you can use to shut off the gas..
