Welcome to my TH-cam page. My name is Rockey. Michigan native who loves old motorcycles. I enjoy hunting down old Harleys and collections of parts. My business is getting these old parts out of barns, garages, shops or wherever to sell and get back out there. I have a very active eBay page where I list all of my parts. 1958 Allstate Vespa VNA 125cc Project Part 1

Today I am taking the time to show off this project. I have had this Vespa for a few years and am now taking some time to work on it. Figured it's time to show it off on the channel. Follow along and watch the progress.

After discovering that the tail pipe was plugged by dirt daubers, I decided to clean it all out and try starting it again. Even though the carburetor is not complete, the Vespa ran!! So great to hear it running for the first time!

1934 Harley Davidson Privateer Hillclimber VLD Knucklehead

Here is one from the collection. This is my 1934 VLD. I was able to purchase this motorcycle from the late Dale Walksler during the beginning of the Covid mess. This is a unique motorcycle with a some mystery to it. I am glad to share this bike and hope to gain more knowledge about it.

2002 Honda Metropolitan II Polini Hi Speed Variaror Update & Testing

Now that I have my scooter back and many miles have been ridden on this kit, it is time to do some testing. I know that some of you have asked about the results of this and were looking forward to seeing some of the testing. Today I did a couple top speed runs, showing the performance up hills and sustained speed.

Supermoto Invisible to a Speed Detection Device?

Is a Supermoto invisible to these pop up traffic speed detection devices? This speed meter is in perfect working order but will it pick up a supermoto? Today we will make two passes to see if it will!
Thanks for the update, I have a Met II of my own and saw your video on the variator install. I also have the polini in mine and see very similar results. I’d like to get a tiny bit more out of it. I have upgraded my main jet to a 75 from the stock 72 and removed the restriction plate in the intake manifold. I think my last attempt will be to upgrade my drive face, final gearing, or clutch. Let me know if you have any insight on these or are planning to make any further modifications. Thanks again!
I’m happy enough with the Met for now. It does what it needs to for my kid. Maybe in the future after she’s done with it, I’ll do more. I’d be interested to see what you get out of your future changes.
Do you still have the rear fender from that lot?
Still have the rear fender. $225 for that with the struts.
I don't know much about Vespas but it looks imperfect shape. I like scooters I got a 1980 something Suzuki scooter maybe moped I don't know what do you know what scooter for moped but it's like a QA50 I think but it'll set for years and then I air the tires up at kickstarted a bunch of times at fires up. It kills all the mosquitoes in the neighborhood and then after about 10 minutes you take the choke off. And off you go
I am definitely learning about vespas as I go! It’s been a fun endeavor. Running an old 2 stroke is great for getting the skeeters out of the area for sure. Plus these old bikes are built pretty well. It’s fun to kick them to life.

Yeah, to get in touch with Weems from Weems Moto and he can turn you onto someone that may know more about those motors because he deals and doing a lot of bills with triumph street bike parts
I have seen a lot of his videos and it would be amazing to connect with him.
I have a new 2024 Metro. It will hit 40mph and maintain it all day. But it's fuel injected and liquid cooled. I love seeing the older ones still out there on the road. I have 55 miles on mine. Only 5 more to engine break in! I love it and hope to have it until I'm gone.
I’d like to ride one of the newer ones and see the difference. I know that the Met and Met II are different when it comes to overall top speed. Honda makes a great machine and with general maintenance you should be able to keep it forever. I still have my 1970 CT70 and it runs great.

It’s a fun mess. The front wheel my friend built. Probably one of the few 21” hamburger drum wheels out there.

That bike is sweet! I never knew you could put Knucklehead uppers on a VLD lower. I would clean it up and display it in my living room after I got it running and stare at it for years......Better than watching TV!
First time I’ve seen it done. It’s a neat setup for sure. I definitely want to get it running and take it out to different vintage shows.

thoughts on the Kymco? do they require much maintenance? ...just finished my basic riders course, have 0 mechanical ability, saw a Kymco 500 for sale, was concerned I wouldn't be able to find parts if something went wrong. Thanks!
I honestly can’t say that I know enough about them. Seems like parts might be harder to find. I’d highly recommend a Honda product. They are very reliable and many parts available. Not to ding the Kymco but I don’t know enough about them. Had this one long enough to trade it off

This thing is cool! That engine combination is fascinating. Cool story to go with it too. Hope you can fill in a few blanks with some help! I’d love to see this thing road rideable someday.

To get the cable jacket out of the "perch" pull the lever to the handlebar then slowly release while pulling on the cable, once clear swing it out of the way and it's free.

Funny coming across this video because I just pulled my oil bag 2 days ago. My oil lines were old and crusty so I just snipped them and pulled the bag out to the right. It's probably not a terrible idea to replace the bottom feed line every time because oil line is cheap and it sure makes it easy to swap out.
That is funny. Perfect timing I suppose. Yes it would have been better to just cut the lines and replace them. They have all been replaced now.
For stickers, Zippo fluid does most. For glue traps, if your pet steps in one, use vegetable oil or peanut oil.
Thanks for that. I’ll try zippo lighter fluid next time. Haven’t messed with glue traps in a long time but that is also great info to know.

At the bottom of the speedo is that an RPM gauge or a fuel gauge
The bottom gauge is the fuel gauge which is so nice to have.

I’ve always loved old vespas. My grandpa had a couple when I was a teenager! I hope you’re going to leave this one ugly and just ride it!
@@Hard_Luck_Garage I have two Vespas. One is very nice and this one is ratty. I plan to leave it this what, possibly pin stripe it. But I do love its look
I think when you go fast enough they stop maybe try at the target speed next time…
There wasn’t necessarily a target speed. This unit picked up every vehicle driven from the same point and increased display speed as the vehicle did.

I had one I founded a swamp as a kid I remember the name Vespa on it but it had been in the swamp way too long of course I really had no idea how to get the motor running anyway lol but we did take the motor off and pushed each other around in the neighborhood...
I’ve seen so many of these without engines in them. Never seen one from a swamp

@@Rockeys_Chop_Shop no I moved into the home with my parents in 1962. And we used to hunt ducks in a swamp close by me use later they build a Kmart in that area. So no telling how it got there and how long it had been there...

Hey was just watching Scotty kilmer's channel and he said somebody had the same problem. When somebody came back there activated the sprinkler system from above. And that stopped it from them doing back there business

Years ago I went through a warehouse in the owner said I could have anything I want out of that barrel. Well I grabbed a few tail lights that were in there turned out they were Sears Allstate turn line turn brake lights not turn lights. I end up giving away to people for trailers and so forth turns out they were kind of worth something ....
I’ve run across pockets of Vespa parts mixed in with other motorcycle parts. It’s always neat to come across them.
@@Rockeys_Chop_Shop in retrospect I wish I would have taken all of them I think I took like six or eight I gave a couple away and I put them on eBay this is probably at least 15 years ago and they started I mean a hundred bucks next set or next one was 200 bucks I put them on for like 10 bucks I wish I would have grabbed the whole bucket

@@Rockeys_Chop_Shop this was an old Studebaker warehouse one of the few buildings still standing here in town that was Studebaker related. They've redone it now and I think it's just a more upscale warehouse but back then there were holes in the floors you could drop a tow motor through. There was so much cool stuff and my father knew the owner Ben Levy. Used on radio furniture mart. Which then became dudes in darlings when the Western craze kick back in in the '80s. Yeah I could have well he said as long as it wasn't somebody else's stuff all this stuff was left from Studebaker and other people that just stored stuff and left. I was just in my twenties at the time and I had nowhere to put all this stuff. But it sure was me going through there..
