What a Group of Heroes. I can’t believe where the Army put them. That was so wrong on so many Levels. All give some and some give all. The Bravery of these Men is Second to none. RIP Brave Heroes, and God please heal the rest.

The colonel that put these men in this situation and refused to let them move to better ground all to draw out the enemy is a coward ! He came to my brigade 2nd 502 after he left the 173rd . I can confirm he’s a pos . He got our scout platoon in a similar situation in Afghanistan. Ran out of ammo just about but he kept refusing air support saying we have ammo !! Eventually we got air support . The drones showed truck after truck arriving with taliban. Anyway I’m done . Fck that guy !!!

Sitting here watching this and realizing back in the summer of 08 i was just an 18yo kid with no responsibility and no worries at all, literally with friends from sun up to sun down living my best life like a typical person that age in a rural area does, i was there doing that having good days with friends, safe, enjoying life doing what i want, while these guys were packed in that bowl fighting for their fucking lives and i myself and millions alike had no clue about it going on. Thats fucking sad. Thats depressing. Thats life. Even as i write this people are still dying at THIS VERY EXACT MINUTE in the middle east still in war today and here i am, 1am in the US watching YT with my baby girl asleep in the room over.. life is so precious.. i couldnt imagine being in these guys shoes, but i tell you what, i wish i was or could become atleast HALF the man that these guys are.. pure heros. Real life heros. Not even in it for the money because they make less than an office worker, pure balls.. god bless these guys.. here and gone, youll always be remembered by people like me and though we dont know you all, we absolutely LOVE you guys.

And at the very most these guys MIGHT make $60k a year IF theyre lucky, 60 is considered high pay, and we got these mfn rappers who shoot up neighborhoods for clout and views not caring about life making millions, basketball players that can barely form a sentence making millions, boxers that cant even read making millions, actors that do NOTHING for society making millions PER FILM, and these guys put THEIR LIFE on the line for all those mentioned above for absolutely nothing, a soccer moms salary, and the training and bs they go thru, stress, etc, for 60k? Then they come home and we throw them in the streets and never think of them again. I wish all branches would come together and have a stand still and not do ANYTHING until the government agrees that EVERY deployed soldier gets 500k a year. Every active infantry anyone to see or may see combat make a minimum of 100k, the government would have no choice. We have to start banding together to make things better for ourselves and the ones who come after us!!

There was many “COB’s” placed in valley’s like this. Out post Restrepo was on a hill yet so far away that they couldn’t get help in time. Camp Keaton was in a fish bowl as well. But to put this OP right in front of a town? Those young men gave it all? Why? Because of the guy standing beside him. The 173rd Airborne May as well be classed as a Special Forces Unit. Because those guys have been in the hottest locations in every war. Rest Easy My Brothers we have the Watch.

A great documentary and you're right with that one soldier said heroes are the ones that don't come home but the heroes are the ones that do make it home because they protect each other like brothers you're both the heroes ones that come home and ones that don't come home you're all heroes you protect America you make America what it is today thank you for being a soldier in making a miracle what it is today strong that's what America is strong thanks to you guys
