Wish some one could let me know how to compute confidence intervals of those return values.
how to get 70 and 70 on grid
Interesting but quite abstract and hard to see how to link to real data.
The path that sediment takes in the model seems to assume that there is only one source area. In complex setting there are presumably multiple sources.
Wow amazing.
Why does the SGeMS software back out when I'm working on semi-variable functions?
为什么当我在处理半变量函数时,SGeMS 软件会退出?
How can we remove the dip in data, as mentioned in 18:20?
Thanks 🙏🏻
Hi Jef, I noticed a small error in the 41-minute slide presentation. The distance matrix should be symmetrical, but in this matrix, the distance between Miami and SF is listed as 3063 in one instance and 3053 in another.😊
When you mention the histogram in 4:20. Do you mean the histogram of the 100 hard data?
I did not quite understand the plot on the illustration slide. How the density plot of sample maximums drawn from normal distribution can shift left with increasing sample sizes.
anyone having problems with SGeMS the last couple of weeks? I think due to an update in Windows, it's beginning to crash everytime I calculate a variogram. I don't know if I should try to restore a previous version of windows, or emulate within a linux OS that I have elsewhere. Thanks in advance if anyone can help
use 2.1 version
Very nice lectures! I was just wondering if in the slide on Return level plot, the expresion on the low-left corner should be x_p = [...] instead of y_p = [...]. Thanks :)
Dear doctor or friends who have seen this message, I'm sorry to bother you. I want to ask how to get useful files in ASCII files (not in sgems file format) in sgems. I want to get the data of simulated files
Please how I can know my grid dimensions ?! I have a serie of data of 160 values!
Hello Jef. Probably it is useless asking on a 4yrs old video, but is very difficult finding information about SGEMS online, so I have to give a try. I'm doing SGSIM simulations on a 2D dataset which cannot be reduced to a rectangle gird. Therefore I'm trying to use masked grids for doing so, but the software crashes all the time once I upload the grid. I tried also with another version, SGeMSx64-beta, which correctly upload the grid, but once I run the SGSIM it is not able to do more than 1 simulation giving some "can't write temporary file" error. Have you ever had this problem?
Amazing explanation with great Visualization.
Concise and useful. thanks
Thank you very much, you help me a lot
Question for you or someone in the audience: when using an anisotropic variogram, is it convention to fit ellipsoidal parameters or fix them in advance prior estimating model parameters? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
Really good video. Thanks!
Hi, how do I determine what my ranges should be in the search ellipsoid for the max, med, and min? Look forward to your reply
Can you please perform a Fourier Amplitude Sensitivity Test example?
Yes please... do make a video on FAST
@@eleanor.abernathy7836 Yes. Try Silab in google. It's a python code documentation. It has great examples and explanation
My bad. It's SALIB 😀😀. Sensitivity Analysis LIBrary
Very nice thank you
Thanks very much Prof Jeff. Please how do I do indicator simulation in SGems. Tried it but SGems says my grid was not valid. Maybe I'm missing something on how to structure my grid for indicator simulation.
How do I export an image in TIF format or raster file?
Thanks for this excellent material!! In the 16th minute of this video could you please add more information regarding the derivation of the first linear constraint [Eq I.2.25 in your book]. According to my algebraic calculations, I found that ∑𝜆𝛽E[R(x𝛼)R(x𝛽)]+𝜇+E[R(x)R(x𝛼)]=0. Unfortunately, i am missing the minus sign in the E[R(x)R(x𝛼)] term. Could you please help me. Thanks in advance :)
i hope your future videos have better voice quality
A comprehensive summary of various topics and applications of Geostatistics. Many thanks.
Why variogram eror?
Really nice lecture. Thanks a lot!
Greate video. Why we can use only simple kriging to conditional simulations? Would you share the topic about theoretical information about it? Regards
hello , Thnaks for this useful video , please How can I upload data to this software ( xls format)
Amazing presentation. Thanks for doing this video
Great video. Please which software did you use for kigring meta model???
Can translate into Turkish I need information about fractal analis and semi-variogram
Very good! Thanks!
Fantastic class!
i realize it is quite randomly asking but does anybody know a good place to watch new movies online ?
@Beau Lyle Flixportal :)
@Dayton Wilder Thanks, signed up and it seems to work :) I appreciate it!
@Beau Lyle Happy to help :)
Which software? @Jef Caers
SGEMS.
This post help me to know about krigging method, thanks!
Hi Jef Which one of geostatistical methods can I use for coal resource which has variability plies as vertical and discontinuous seams espiceally underground coal planning Thanks
Thanks Jef for this lecture. I have a question. at 21:42 min. when you are explaining the variogram modeling with anisotropy. We agree that total anisotropy has a geometric and zonal components. But Is there any chance that the labels of Y and X directions in the variogram on the right are exchanged? Because it seems to me that along the Y- direction the variance is larger and range is shorter than along the X-direction. Thanks and regards.
yes, it seems that you are right about that.
Hi Prof. Caers, I am trying to use the new SGEMS Beta 64 bit version, however the interface for e.g. the experimental variogram has changed significantly from (1) your videos and (2) the only documentation I could find online - a user manual from 2004. Is there any chance that you can point me in the direction of some up-to date documentation? Kind regards
Hello, Can anyone share with me an open source website where I can get Geostatistics dataset that can be use for resource estimation purpose? I need it for my Master thesis work
عاشت ايدك ياعلم يا فول هيبة
Useful compact presentation. I think the right hand side of “Kriging the mean” should be zero.
While I do appreciate the explanation and interpretation aspect of this video, by any chance do you have videos where you are coding these in R. I am currently having an issue with computing the return period for the POT Approach.
dou you have it i need it
hello, may i ask how can i get the training picture like in the video?
I think most of training images are from field investigation data. For example, in my project, I got training image from satellite photos.
Hello Mr. Caers, thanks for this tutorial . i would like to ask you that how can i modify colourbar? there are load colourbar button but how we can modify it? have a nice day.
