Toroid Winder design and operation

I designed, built, programmed, and operate a small toroid winder. The requirement was to be able to wind with precision on single layer winds, with wire ranges from #38 awg to roughly #26 awg.
It is capable of winding in both directions on the toroid.

As the control pulley heads towards the core the spool ring slows down. As it passes through the toroid, it speeds up again. This guarantees the wire lay on the toroid is very well controlled spacing.

This shows how the wire lays on the toroid. For this test, I set the wire spacing to line fit on the ID of the toroid.

Excellent video - thank you for taking the ti e to explain how the details of these machines are configured . The wire delivery aspect was quite a puzzle to me - now after watching your explanation I am think of a few various designs! Thanks again and good luck !
