A totalitarian Great Britain, run by a mob, full of hate. Unfortunately, I could stomach Fated only until near the halfway point where Ava lost her father, and the dictatorship started. I now started on Slated. Fictitious minorities are a thankful topic. Example: Alien Nation (novel and TV series on FOX, the 1990s). NB: I am sure that the memory wipe is preferable over an outright assassination. The discrimination afterwards is just disgusting, and what about the brain implant? EDIT: This book covers an important topic.

Hi, I just want to know of how close is the graphic novel from the original book's story? I'm about to finish Hollow City but haven't read the first book yet, so I'm thinking of getting the graphic novel instead since it's the shorter version of the story (since I just only wanted to refresh myself of how the story started) but I'm also scared that I might miss some important parts and details of the original story if I go with the graphic novel. Hope you notice thiis, thanks in advance 😘

The dialect Moira Young created and how she does not use quotation marks or the 'typical' format does take a little getting used to. I imagine it can be difficult for some readers at first. But, once the reader gets used to the style, it REALLY suits the dystopian, post-apocalyptic environment which is the setting for the series. The reader can see the devolution of the English language and and how we speak today has become archaic. We can see how our slang words and phrases have been incorporated into everyday speech, and have taken on new meanings, while the character speaking them has no clue what these words/phrases originally meant. I completely agree with your assessment of book three. Book three was amazing, but it tore me apart, emotionally. I can understand your point of view on the ending. Like you, I enjoy it when a book series leaves open the potential for something else to follow, even though there is a sense of conclusion. Still, the practical side of me was not overly optimistic for the characters involved, considering the situation they were in. It seemed rather peaceful on the surface, but logic and practicality interfered. I'd be really interested to see what Young would do with them, and how things would turn out, if she were to write a second series.

The name 'Lugh' is Irish Gaelic/Celtic in origin. In Irish Celtic Mythology, Lugh is the name of one of the deities. He is said to have led the Tuatha de Danann against the invading Fomorians. The 'gh' are silent. So, you pronounced it correctly when you said 'loo'. I am interested in mythology, and recognized the name when I read the books myself. I'm headed to the bookstore tomorrow to pick up Love & Lies! It sounds really interesting. I hate when I'm reading a manga I'm really into and find out it's on hiatus. That happened to me with Honey Hunt. Such a great story and then oh well that's it! Ok I can't believe you are 29!!! I thought you were like 19.I always thought wow she's really young to be married! :)

I always think that a manga is good if I can remove all of the text and still understand the story (for the most part). So, it was interesting to see you flip through Astra. Probably will be avoiding that title in the future... Ah, I really need to get back to Love & Lies. I totally agree though, his "partner" is way better than the "love interest" girl in that series!

Going back to school also sounds interesting but it could be a course rather than a full-on university degree that might be a bit much at the moment. It depends on what you think.
