Small Boat Fishing - Great First Trip - Mixed Species Lure Fishing - East Coast
Final took my boat out on a proper fishing trip. We had been out a few times in the Firth of Forth, launching at Port Edgar as the boat ramp there is so wide and easy to use as a beginner. But the fishing in that area is far from great.
This time we were much further South on the East Coast and had a great day, catching fish straight away and ended up with four species in total. Big Mackerel, Pollock, Coalfish and a really nice Cod.
We caught mackerel on feathers and the other fish on metal lures, the best fish came on a 100g slow jig.

Back down to Eyemouth and although I didn’t catch either of my target species, I still had great fun catching lots of fish. Something a bit different, took the opportunity to record a family of ducks that came by while bait fishing at Clubbiedean Trout Fishery. 3 Fish landed on the day in total but I was too busy recording the ducks and missed half the fishing action. Fished of Bournemouth cliffs for many years with lures had some nice Pollock and cod not so many now try a little bit closer to the cliffs you should get some nice Pollock 👍 and tight lines

@@N57Fishing Aye but, wi a trolley??? I get the usefulness, as we all like to carry too much gear, but to reach remote marks you need to go light and take essentials only. Try the cliffs at the back of Duart. Quite a long stretch with deepish water there and can be good for Pollack. Better still, try Caliach point on an ebbing tide, fishing big metals deep. The rocks on front pf Glengorm Caste over to Ardmore point can be very good too.

i have no idea why you took that HUGE bag of kindling, fill a 1ltr SIGG fuel bottle with blue clean paraffin only need a tiny amount let it soak into driftwood 5 mins bobs your uncle, light small pile at first til the paraffin is gone and add fresh wood on top NO SMELL to taint your fish and a tiny load. take tin foil or a foldable grate. JUST SAYING. been fishing Scotland for 50 yrs
Rocky coast, didn’t know how much wood, if any, I’d be able to find. Didn’t plan on stopping at the beach the first night and wanted to make sure I could have a decent fire both nights.

@@kf-dk5pb had fairly strong breeze at all times, didn’t get bothered by midges at all. Got a couple of bites from deer fly and had quite a few ticks by the end of the weekend though.

What a great adventure . Your dog Lana is amazing , such a wonderful companion ,and a total sweetheart. She's having a fantastic life with you that every dog deserves, but few get . respect to you . Super that you saw so much wildlife The Sea Eagles were amazing . Adders are very shy snakes and usually just dive for cover as soon as they sense anything apart from a frog or a small prey item , pleased you got to see one and your pal was safe. I was between Grass point and the end of loch Spelve, I honestly think I was just there on a bad day, not the deepest but looked decent on navionics. I’ve always had good luck on the mainland opposite that spot too. But if you don’t know the island, North west of the island is probably a more reliable area for better fish.

Get yourself some good quality hiking boots, way easier and safer traversing the rocks and cliffs
Fun fact - the adder (Vipera berus) is the only snake that lives above the arctic circle. I saw them in Glen Coe when I was a nipper. Great video.

@@davidoldboy5425 This one was brutal to get to, about 2 miles from the nearest road and very uneven ground. I took far too much gear with me too because it looked a fairly easy walk on the map. Cheers
