Him being such a speedster and Dutch the natural comparison is ask is between him and Van de ven.. would he be similar to him? Or is the only thing they have in common speed?
Yeah that’s a better comparison 100%.
Great stuff from you Sam!!! I was so happy when we signed Riu Borges. João Pereira was simply not prepared and won’t be for a few years. borges the right man for the job. I loved how he Defended Conrad Harder this past game against Rio Ave. That is the leader we needed!
Internal club politics appear to have significantly hindered Marcus Edwards’ (ME) progress at Sporting Lisbon. The club, along with influential agent Jorge Mendes, seems to prioritize players like Trincão and Pedro Gonçalves (Pote), who are considered untouchable assets. These players are tied to lucrative contracts and are central to the club’s strategy, particularly given their potential involvement with national teams. In contrast, ME’s decision not to sign a contract extension was, in my view, a wise move. Agreeing to new terms might have sealed his fate at Sporting, limiting his opportunities even further. Being sidelined by head coach Rúben Amorim throughout 2024 would no doubt have shattered his confidence and stalled his development. Despite these setbacks, I firmly believe the best is yet to come for ME.
Thanks Sam 🙏 love the content. Interesting how quickly Rui Borges has put his stamp on the team. Should be an interesting game tonight. Unfortunately RB Leipzig are out already which is dangerous as they can play with no pressure. Also Bologna winning last night means they also have something to play for at Alvalade. Let's hope we get the job done.
Fair points, he’s been treated unfairly this year. Not even 350+ mins this season. How can you show what you can do when you aren’t allowed on the pitch
Agreeed, been very unlucky with injuries. But there’s been many times when sporting are either losing or drawing and he’s on the bench, knowing he can change a game and he’s never bought on. I don’t understand
You should do a video where you show all your sporting jerseys or rate your subscribers sporting jerseys
Already had the shirt idea in mind 👀👀
@ awesome! Haha 🤣
Love the content bro hope your channel grows
thoughts on Amorim recent lash out news and his current struggles? Love the videos, keep it up m8
Thank you mate! I think it’s to be expected with the recent results. I thought it would take a while but some of the games United lost have been really awful performances. I think there’s a lot of external factors at play as well that he didn’t have at Sporting. Ineos budget cuts, massive media pressure and a squad that he can’t rebuild in January. I think time is the big thing, I don’t doubt he’ll turn it around, but I do doubt if he is given the time to do so…
Victor Bruno next
I wonder if AVB takes a punt with him as manager until the end of the season
Com tantos despedimentos vai ser um novo Domingos Paciência
Porto next coach.
In Sporting we lost a very competent manager, but now we won a top manager
What?? You really think rui borges will be better than amorim? Im a sporting fan btw
too soon to call Rui a top manager we ll see today
Very competent?! The guy managed to do the unthinkable at sporting lisbon. The club was free falling towards the abyss when he was signed. Borges accolades do not come close to what Ruben managed to do there. No wonder your rivals call you 'comedia'.
Can’t believe how fast it went downhill
I haven't been following Sporting closely since Amorim's departure. Can you make a video on Rui Borges, please?
We had a horrible period right after Amorim with our B team coach(João Pereira) getting the move up to the main squad. He came in with the 2nd place 7 points behind us and left 1 point behind Benfica. He also got 2 defeats in the champions league after that incredible 4-1 victory over man city with Amorim, we lost against arsenal at home(1-5) and Brugge away(2-1).We also were defeated twice in the championship and drew one game. And that was João Pereira who was then sacked. Now under Rui Borges we've been pretty good.Defeated Benfica at home in his first game, right away with a game against our biggest rival and got the lead in the championship again. Then drew away at Guimarães in a crazy game, but that same gameweek Benfica and porto both lost, so we basically gained one point from a traditionally tough match away at Vitória. Then it was league cup time and Sporting defeated porto in the semi-finals(another victory for Rui Borges against a rival) and then lost against Benfica on penalties in the final, but actually was the best team throughout the 90 minutes in a very contested match.Today we won in a typically very hard ground, at Rio Ave 3-0 with one of the best performances this season even including the first 11 games in the championship with Amorim which resulted in 11 wins. Now we're currently in 1st place in the league, in the quarter-finals of the cup and have good chances of qualifying to the playoff of the champions league(we play Leipzig away on Wednesday).Sporting this year can conquer their 25th national championship and their 18th Portuguese national cup.It would be the 7th time in history that Sporting wins both competition in the same year and would be the first time in almost 70 years for Sporting to win back to back national championships.Hope we do it, such a loyal and supporting fanbase. We never give up on our club, even when in bad shape like our rivals, specially Benfica that has literally no atmosphere in that library that they call a stadium!Greetings from Lisbon, Portugal!Sporting Sempre!!!
@josepb5669 thanks bro! What can you say about Borges himself? His style? Is he a good fit to actually challenge for titles, not just qualifying for UCL once every few years? Does the squad fit his style?
@@qwertyasd3458I mean the team just needed a guy that knew the basics. He changed the system from a 3-4-3 that we played under Amorim to a 4-4-2 but that is really very relative because under Amorim we changed formation throughout the match and under borges we also do that.He plays high pressing and flowing attacking football and the defense has also been pretty solid.Upfront we have Gyo and he’s the best player in the league so we are almost guaranteed to score goals.I guess we’ll see but I’m optimistas about him and the team
Great video! Small addition at 04:00 nobody would refer Maccabi Petah Tikva as 'Maccabi' as this is reserved mostly for the largest maccabi teams in Israel maccabi Tel aviv (most likely) which BTW Daniel Sousa was linked with in the past, or maccabi Haifa
Ah thank you for the heads up! Appreciate it 💚
Hey man! Can you make a video on the new sporting manager?
Hey man! I have already “Meet the other Ruben Amorim Replacement” on my channel :)
Not an arsenal fan, i believe keeping arteta will be the right decision for them. He improved that team alot and deserve more time and support. From a united fan.
Doesn't track back and doesn't defend? Bro thinks he's Ronaldo 😂😂 Bro used to be my FM god signing, it's sad to see where it's gone... Also, he's 26, he's not young, he's essentially at the point where his peak comes into play, if his peak is not getting a game in the Portuguese Prem, then he's not got a hope in hell of reaching any sort of potential they thought he had
What is going on at Sporting bro lost the cup final lost twice in the league Champions League dropped to 17th. Sorry we took Amorim from you guys hope your season picks up again.🫡
He’s a great player, but he doesn’t press or come back on the defence side. He needs to be at a club that won’t make him defend as much
Saturday, taça da liga final, arrived late and missed the bus. Unbelievable!!!! Lack of professionalism.
You were right about all of them. Kudos
Wow you were right about everything kudos
AI is broken. Players don’t track back. The fullbacks and CDMs literally stand still and watch attackers blow past them. The gameplay is not realistic at all
I still believe in him, if he improves his finishing, work rate and starts building back his confidence he can go back to his 2021/22 form.
He had an injury and has recently been ill, but yes he has lost impact in the team and seems unmotivated.
Quality intakes, mate 👌 👏 👍
We would keep Rashford & Zirkzee to at least till the end of the season to see if they will improve on their focus, fitness & sharpness! Mainoo & Gernacho needs to knuckle down otherwise they should be replaced by Doue & Nune Mendes! Dani Olmo or João Félix on loan To Get Rid: Onana, Maguire, Lindelof, Eriksen, Bruno, Malacia, Mount, & Antony in next window! Bring back Alvara Fernandez, Kambwala, Garner, Pereira & Gomes! Keep it in the family!
No way Rashford will improve, he’s 27 years old not a spring chicken anymore, walks instead of running. It’s his fault he must go , we thank him for his service to the club.

If you were not up to date, both Bruno and Ugarte were suspended for Newcastle game. And Kobbie had I heard started 3 games in a row so he was probably just managing load. He really had no option.
Agreed, mainoo had looked a bit sloppy and in need of rotation before that game so I understand why he didn't start versus Newcastle. I would have preferred if Amorim had played Collyer alongside either Cas or Erikson for some legs in midfield.
you legend
Rashford is shite - being Brit doesnt make him any good
💚🤍🦁 Work in progress, RA will clean the closet
Casemiro and Eriksen both started againt Ipswich and, before Newcastle, Ugarte and Mainoo started against Wolves and Bournemouth (United lost both matches) Also, against Newcastle, Bruno and Ugarte were not available Amorim had to expose Casemiro (cause the fans wanted him to play) and Eriksen, for being worthless players that need to leave the club
Were any of those shirts behind you worn by the actual player? And do you actually speak or understand Portuguese 🇵🇹
The Paulinho one is the only one match worn and signed! The Coates one is special though, I wore that on the day we won the first league title I ever got to see! I understand Portuguese better than I speak it if that makes sense 😂
I believe in Ruben!
its insane to bring in a manager with a different system when we played a game every 3 days . Especially a squad with no confidence and no goals in them
As a Man Utd fan that 100% believe in Amorim, really loves your channel. Subscribed and will be following especially on your content about Amorim and Utd, and Sporting too ! I do like Sporting as my 2nd club now. Keep up the great work
Same with me :) Great United content :)
I liked how amorim handled the rashford situation. Also yeah you are spot on with the prediction 😂👍
I think his biggest issue is expectations. He was sort of labeled as the “saviour” of United. It’s gonna take time if he’s going to prove them right
Lol I'm not sure who thought he would come in and win every match especially with this squad , no goals and when there is a game every 3 days
@@dannywelbz3650there was certainly a lot of idiots who expected that
Good content. Keep up the good work.
First video I've watched from this channel and I am impressed. @Sam Fonseca keep up the good work 🎉
More videos like tbis brother. Loved it.
The CR7 with CRJ sounds sweet to me. CRJ could create some history in Sporting, and after Gyokeres leaves, we will need a new prolific striker
Well you got it right. 👍
Is that a CM Punk shirt?
You talking and saying nothing
game is the worst. EA dosen't even know how to code
How do i come from fc24 winning 25 match in a row ( it was fkg hard and played 2 games a day) to having 5-5-24 ??? I litteraly feel like being set up for failure
I think the Spurs one is most unlikely lol
