    I use Homebridge on my Mac Mini to control my Nest thermostat and have had no issues. So don’t agree with Jason that it’s flaky.

    I didn’t realize Ray Romano was on the call. As a share holder, I’m glad they are continuing their upgrade pricing structure as it does help make the Pro look like it’s “worth it”.

    Suggestions/solutions for the power button on the new Mac Mini being on the bottom. Just flip it over and run it upside down. The only downside I see is appearance and maybe thermals. If it’s behind your monitor it might be hidden anyway. This wouldn’t be a problem if we were back in the early days of Mac and everyone was rocking a Mac with an ADB bus and your keyboards all (mostly?) had a Power button. I don’t think that could be a solution in these days of USB and Bluetooth keyboards.

    So no nano-glass, only on the iPhones? My brain suggests that might be that screen protectors don’t stick that well to nano-glass, a that might torpedo an entire aftermarket add on market?

    Thanks for this episode. I enjoyed the discussion. This takes me back to the mid 90's when I first became a Mac user. I wasn't a member of a MUG, as there were none in my area, but I knew about them, and have a lot of good memories of the pre-internet days when, it seemed, computing was somehow more fun. 🙂 It's great to see the community still going.

    Thanks for your podcasts. I listen every week. You comment on pulse oximetry. As a Dr in the UK, I am often recommending that my patients get one especially those with cardiac or respiratory problems. For some they use their Apple Watch. I do hope that the patent dispute in the US is resolved quickly as for those with these medical conditions, pulse oximetry is very important and especially if they become unwell. Thanks

    “You know, whatever the number is, it's a lot. And 70% of those people saw a commercial, went to a carrier store, went to an Apple store, saw these things, go home, pick up the phone. And not only is it not there, there's no indication that it's there or not.” Can you please add a citation to that quote specifically the 70% portion. it’s at 37:32. Thank you.

      Come on fellas it’s been 5 days. You got 200 views and 2 comments your not exactly MKBHD getting tens of thousands of comments. Do you have a citation for that quote or are you making up facts and passing them on as truths? If so your podcast should be relabeled as fiction and not news.

    There are rumors of the next iPhone (17 Pro) having 12 GB RAM rather than the 8 GB that this year’s phone is rumored to have. Is there any valid reason to hold off a purchase till next year? I’d hate to be technologically handcuffed, AI-wise, in a year. Apple did this to me with the iPad 3 in less than 6 months….

    When will the HomePod Mini at least get an updated chip?

    • @romansemprie
      @romansemprie 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We haven't heard any rumors of a HomePod mini update, so we're not expecting one soon. It has been a while, though. I'm guessing they'll update it later next year when Apple Intelligence has momentum in the general public. By then, Apple might have figured out how to implement it in a HomePod. But I'm guessing! I don't have any inside info

    I have big wrists and so I welcome and like the larger Ultra. I would actually like it even slightly larger.

  • @jollyranch8384
    @jollyranch8384 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have nerve damage and can’t stand any around my wrist. I bought the watch not for the things most people use it to monitor. I have an attachment on one side of the wrist strap that attaches to a lanyard I can wear around my neck and under my shirt. If I fall I can have my emergency contact called and notified. I have reminders set for daily tasks and meds. I have the cellular so I don’t need to carry my phone if I leave the house. I can get home if I’m confused and panic. It also sends my son a text if my location changes to outside of my house. It’s more for me an assistant to keep me on track, a supervisor that allows me to move around more alone on my own with features to help if needed. After I wrote Apple because the screen is hard to see, I found out that people working in the medical field can’t wear a watch while working and try to pin theirs to their clothes. So more of a pocket watch than a wrist watch.
