This Keychron Keyboard Was Bad | Keychron Q5 Pro
Modded this board for a mate and while aesthetically a nice board, quite a few things Keychron should improve on to continue to deliver good value for customers.
As budget board quality continues to improve, I can't see Keychron keeping its market share if this is their benchmark for quality.

I am interested to know if the person who purchased this board actually purchased a B stock by chance ? First and for most, your judgement of the aesthetic is a personal one and should not affect the review . I have had so-called " high end " boards that have had far worse finishes and more scratches than my cat . Did they attempt to contact keychron about this ? As you don't tell the viewer as it may have been an honest mistake. Stabs on every board I have had so far have all been lousy from the start it's something I think we can all agree on most companies cheap out on this. As you modded it at the end, which most people tend to do to Keychron boards anyway and your opinion of the board once modded why not tell people hiw to improve them rather than just rubbish it from the start . I've seen other reviews for the same board, and none of them have had these problems even going so far as to say that it is probably one of the best keychron have ever made. Very disappointed, especially as I see it's the first keychron keyboard you have reviewed, so I am left to believe that you didn't like it before you did it..
@@TheJimboy77 appreciate the feedback given and the time taken to write it. Will consider your suggestions for improvement. As you say, I haven’t reviewed a statistically significant number of their Q series boards (besides the Q1 and K2 which I gave a positive reviews of). I have generalised it against my experience with many other boards and am basing my comparison on that. I stand by the observations made here because the reality is, this particular example of the board is bad. However, of course, everyone can take this all with a grain of salt for the reasons you’ve pointed out.

Did you find out if they worked or not? I just bought this for a build thinking it was VIA compatible and have been struggling to find a solution.

@@tmk.08 yes. Different patterns, brightness and speed. Separate control on the light strip as well.

@@DiaMondx2 it’s a good option if you’re after something budget and sounding good. Be aware that the VIA file is still not available for it yet.

@@mxrcurial_5398 unfortunately appears they don’t have yet. Existing links don’t actually contain any files. On some sites (like Amazon) it mentions this board is VIA compatible so at some point I expect they will produce a driver file or JSON.
I have tried contacting the Zuoya store as well for the JSON file but they haven't replied yet and it's been 3 days...

Don't know. Never used the g-pro V3 and it's linear too. This switch is tactile so not really a direct comparison. However, geteron yellow switches have traditionally been great to make thocky builds.

3 pin easier. 5 pins you need to clip the frets as the PCB only supports 3.
